Hi Gary, Glad to see you caught a nice big, dark wolverine. I'm going to go with 38.5lbs today. I enjoy watching the way you seed your line. Because of a few setbacks this year I did not get out on my line. I hope to next year when I am a bit over 74 years old. God bless you and your family. Dave in North Pole
Hello my friend, thanks for watching. I’ll be praying for you to get back out there next season. God Bless you and yours as well. Take care🙏
Hey if you see Warren Fredson or Tony Roberts tell them Hi for me. Mr. Morris their shop teacher from Nenana. They weree great students for me. I like your channel and look forward to your videos.
Awesome! Yeah I see Warren almost every day. I’ll be sure to say hi to him for you👍. Very cool. Thanks for watching and have a good one
31.5 lbs….. beauty ! Stay warm! Don’t take any chances
Thanks for watching and the guess. And will do👍
Man I really look forward to watching these videos in the winter! Keep up the good work
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. Start work on the next one tomorrow. Will do🫡
A lot of times when you get a single catch it will either be in the first or last set. If it’s the first set you really get excited expecting numerous catches. If it’s the last one ,your just as excited for not being skunked. But the funny part is that even if you were skunked, the simple fact of knowing that all of your sets have been freshly baited and your traps in working order your are still satisfied and excited for your next check. Maybe that’s why trappers are always happy.😅Very excited to be on your next one.
Yep you hit it right on with that one 100 percent! Couldn’t have said it any better myself. Gotta be happy out on the land. God bless and thanks for watching and writing👍
Life is just a bunch of picnics
@@user-vo8fb1yh8q oh man we put down 2 moose, 3 caribou, 3 grizzly , 2 black bear, 6 wolves, 6 wolverine, 8 lynx, 2 fox, 3 marten, a few dozen ducks, dozen grouse, dozens of squirrels, prolly a bunch of different animals I don’t remember because we do this so much.
So yeah one big picnic brother
@@enigmaticgwichin1630 that's cruel and unusual punishment you need to live and let live you tyrant
@@enigmaticgwichin1630 you sawed off runt our so called federal judge don Malloy shut our woof season down early. He single handed killed more game off with a stroke of a pen then all the poaching ever since Montana became a state. The vermins woof will finish our elk and deer heards off
Exciting to follow a real trapper in Alaska!
Greetings from Sweden
Thank you sir. Wow Sweden, that’s awesome. Welcome to the channel.👍
Couldn't wait for your next one!
Working on the next now. Thanks for watching
Great video Bud ! Nice country out there , Beautiful Wolverine ! 28lbs , Stay warm friend hopefully more good luck next check :)
Thanks. I definitely put some time into this edit👍. Great guess I’ll have the weight up on the next video. Will do🫡
Your stamina and drive to get out there and work in those temps, is nothing short of admirable! Looking forward to seeing more. All the best wishes my good man!
Thanks Bushmoose. There is something about the cold that energizes me more than normal. It’s alot of fun. Have a good one and thanks for watching
Great video great looking wolverine be safe 🍀🍀
Thanks Scott for watching and will do👍
Glad you made back home, Brother. That is a very nice Wolverine. I had one come through by the ranch last year but have never caught one. We don't really have them here. In fact that was the first Wolverine track I ever saw in my area. Take care out there!
Thanks bro! Yeah great animal. Wow the first to pass through your area! That’s awesome! Keep up the hard work and god bless your Trapline my friend🙏
Awesome trapping Gary and awesome Wolverine catch and can bring an old blanket to wrap your fur like the old boys did. Want to share a story with you that my dad told me one time he said their were way out on the trap line and my dad‘s dad chopped his foot through the moccasins then they wrapped it with beaver hide then they headed back home. Be safe out there do things right dad would say and get mad lol. But anyways watch the whole video Gary loved it God‘s country.👋🏽👍🏽
Thanks Mike! Yeah I forgot the blankets on the ground where the snow machine was parked the night before. lol. I brought at least one on every check after this.
Oh man yeah swinging an axe can end badly especially in the cold. I wonder how far away from home he was when it happened? Ouch. I chopped into my ankle back in 2019 in the spring. Slippery axe handle and the axe bit right through my extratuff boot.
Thanks for watching my friend. Have a good one
Wow, close call be safe. Awesome video. Have a good weekend.✌🏽👍🏽
The Elders would sound like they were mad but they said it that way so you don't forget.
28.5 lbs is my guess. Dandy no matter what he weights!! Another great video!!
Nice video! Thanks for sharing!
Oh yeah it’s my pleasure to share a bit of our lives up here. Have a good one
U have a great attitude. I say 23#. Trap here in mich. Love snow trappin. Nothin like ur weather. Thanks 4 taken us along.
Make no mistake; a lot of hard work to supply this superb content. Thank you for the ride-along...
Oh yeah👍. It’s worth all the effort to get it out there. Thanks for watching and the support
Thanks Gary, those dark days don’t slow you down much!
Oh yeah a good headlamp goes a long ways. Thanks for watching👍
Sweeeet ! Now ..... lets have more bro !!!!!! 🤣
Thanks ottercat! Working on the next video now👍. I’ll try to get the next one out sooner. lol have a good one and thanks for watching
Great catch on the wolverine - hope you get the pissin wolves. Wolverine weight: 30.2 pounds
Hey brother Gary, it is good to see you out on the line. This has been a winter of doctor appointments for me so no trappin this season. I am so happy to see a wolverine made a one way trip to your Conibear set. It's always "lights out" for wolverine in a good 330 set where catching them in a double longspring ends up in a long ferocious battle. Stay healthy and blessed my friend. I would say 37 pounds for that wolverine. Dave S in North Pole, AK
Hey bro, sorry to hear about this season for you. I’ll say a prayer for you🙏 lord willing next season will be a blessed one for you. Yeah it was an awesome first catch of the season. Oh man those 330s are so effective and like you said saves the fur from a long fight. Will do my friend, thanks for watching. God Bless you and yours 🙏
Man.. brother, your videos are awesome👍🏾👍🏾💯
Thanks bro. It’s much appreciated 🙏
I will guess 26 pounds. Glad you are back out there doing your thing. Looking forward to the next one.

Minnesota Rancher. Love the enthusiasm and appreciation you have! 32lbs.
Awesome! Welcome to the channel. Oh man it’s great out there I gotta show it. God Bless and thanks for watching👍
Hey gwichin. Sorry i missed the premiere. Hopefully there wasn't too many trolls
No worries brother it went really well. The largest viewing of any of my premieres yet. It topped at 134! Thanks for the support. It’s much appreciated
Thanks for taking us along on your trapline! Lots of beautiful country up there. I was curious about who taught you about trapping? You're obviously very knowledgeable. Take care!
Congrats on that 20lb. Wolverine. Awesome video man.
Thanks for watching my friend👍. I’m working on the next video now. Have a good one
@@enigmaticgwichin1630 Great
Another great video. Ty and God bless. Wolverine I’d say 27.5lbs
Thanks for watching and a great guess. God bless you and yours.
awesome!
Thanks for watching👍. A lot of fun out there on the line.
A another good video. Thank you for the information it’s gonna be helpful to me. Lord willing me and my family will be moving to Alaska this year. We currently live in Idaho. I’m sure it will be different trapping up there than it is down here but I’m excited to learn thanks again and God bless.
36 lbs on wolverine he's got lots of rabbits to eat. Nice black one that's the one I like also but none in MN. Trapping is pretty much done here except coyote but r rubbed out by now can't believe you guys up there r just getting going. Love ur videos tight cable's. Wish I had that wolverine lol
Oh yeah he was a fat wolverine for sure. I do like the darker ones. Ah that’s to bad I still have a month and half of trapping up here. This video was filmed almost a month ago. Working on the next video now. God bless👍
I missed the premiere. Hopefully catch it next time
We don't have much Wolverines around here, in Whitesand. MY GUESS IS 34.6lbs. awesome catch. Keep up the awesome videos . My Native brother. 👍✌️
Oh man we are blessed to have a decent population up here. Thanks for watching, lord willing we’ll have a couple more this season. You as well bro
Aanii, greetings, from southern ontario, I bet that wolverine weight bout 35-40lbs., awesome catch, congrats, just tuned in to your channel, had to sub, beautiful land, stay safe, shakyjake out.
This is your best trapping video so far. Love the commentary and all the great info on why and how you make your sets!
Thank you my friend👍. If you ever have any questions just let me know. Have a good one
32# enjoy your enthusiasm and the show!
Thanks for the guess. It’s alot of fun out there trapping I enjoy showing that. Take care
I have watched a few other trapping channels and have seen a couple guys that will put a piece of wax paper over the pan so that snow will not freeze under the pan of the wolf traps.
Thanks for another post! Trapping the way it should be. 33 lbs. is my guess.
Nice catch 32 pounder
Thanks for watching and the guess. It’s hard to beat the wolverine and the #1 catch. God bless
Looks promising for link.
Another great video.Thanks for sharing
always the last set ... been there so many times I lost count. Nice 25 lb wolverine
Yeah it’s great! Hard work paying off at the last moment.👍 thanks for watching
Great video! 31.7ibs
30lbs. Good job, another great video
Great videography!
Thanks! The GoPro really makes it easier. The video is in 4K so I hope it looks good.
My nephew and his uncles wiped out 8 yesterday on the north slope. They are really smart fpr traps on the barron land up there theu have to be chased! Wolves that is
That’s awesome! Yeah the wolves here are so trap shy and smart it’s not easy to catch them. Thanks for watching and great job to your family👍
@@enigmaticgwichin1630 enjoy the weekend. hope all is well. miss to see your trapping updates.
Hey brother sorry I haven’t been on the lives lately I just found out my wife is pregnant and we took on two more dogs hope you guys are well and God is with you
Wow! Congrats wingfield! That’s awesome news, god bless you and your growing family
Nice 39 pounder!
Oh man a great first catch of the season. Thanks for watching and the guess. God bless
Keep them videos rolling thanks for video brother God bless you and your family ❤
Oh yeah, working on the next right now. God bless you and yours as well and thanks for watching
Beauty wolverine Gary! My guess is 28 lbs.
Yeah it was a great one. Awesome guess as well. I’ll put the weight up in the next video. Have a good one👍
33lbs nice catch
Thanks for watching. Yeah an awesome first catch of the season. Lord willing more to come
I'm happy to have found your channel! Nice wolverine! 34lbs?
So that is what snow and cold temperatures are 😂. Here in south west Wyoming not much snow and the coldest we got here was-20for a week
Yeah it gets a bit cold and snowy for sure. This was actually a deep snow year so far and 2 weeks ago we got down to -70. Thanks for watching and god bless down there👍
..I'm no good at guessing weight. I remember one time when I guessed my wife's weight.. That was a mistake..
lol. Still married? Thanks for watching
yep... 55 years and counting @@enigmaticgwichin1630
38lbs, beauty!
Oh man a great dark wolverine. Thanks for watching and the guess we’ll drop the weight on the next video
38 1/4 lbs. Bucket lister for this old retired taxidermist!
Taxidermy is something I want to get into in the next few years. Even if it’s just one wolverine a year! Thanks for watching, god bless
I always miss the lives, but catch up later.
Thanks for watching. The premiere was kinda last minute. Have a good one
Glad you got an animal. I bet it is 37.5 lbs.
Thanks man. 🙏
Hope to see some nice dark Martin
Not in Alaska
@@trappersdad6855 can't remember if he's bald or not
On the next video we’ll pick up a marten👍
love ur video...26.50 lbs
Congrats on such a fine first check! How does your wolverine population do year to year? Stay consistent or fluctuate like lynx do?
Man with your money should buy couple hundred power rams
Hey jhah, I noticed you don’t use wax paper on your wolf traps. Little piece on bottom and top keeps them from freezing down
Yeah I’ll use a little bit when the warm temps come. For now with the below zero dry snow works great. Where are you at wayoflife4life? You Gwich’in?
Great video, 35.5 pounds
👍🏼👏🏼🤝🏼
Thanks for watching 🙏
30 lbs Gary!
Thanks for the guess my friend. And for watching👍. God Bless
I'd LOVE to trap a wolverine. I've caught an otter here in WI, and beaver and muskrat and possum and raccoon. I'd LOVE to put a wolverine on my fur tree though. I'll go 28lbs on the wolverine
Of all the animals I’ve trapped the wolverine still holds a bit of something only a wolf can touch. Awesome animal. Hopefully you’ll get a chance some day. Thanks for watching
Nice wolverine I’m guessing 33 lbs
If you used pintail hitch you wouldn’t have that problem of losing your pin or shackle
From S.Dak. 38lbs.
Hi David. We visited SD a couple years ago. Beautiful country. Thanks for watching
Around 22lbs ..we work in kilos so i converted
Thanks for the guess Alan👍. I’ll try to remember to put up the weight in kilos along with lbs in the next video. God bless
33 lbs of skunk bear
lol definitely smells like a little bear👍. Thanks for watching
I guess forty pounds on the wolverine
My guess on the wolverine is 34 pounds
Thanks for watching and for the guess. Have a good one. We’ll post the weight on the next video👍
wolverine was 22 lbs me thinks!
What stops your foothold from freezing down.....you don't use wax paper?
The cold weather and dry snow keeps them from freezing down. For lynx traps I’ll use something but until the weather turns I don’t use anything especially on the wolf traps. Maybe some spruce boughs under the trap at most. Thanks for watching👍
OK. Interesting. Thank you for the info. Tight Chains
Why is is skin and fur so good?
We have some top notch fur up here. Thanks for watching
28#
Thanks for watching and for the guess. We’ll have the weight up on the next video for sure. Have a good one
Going with 32.5lbs
36#
I hope we get a few more this season. Thanks for watching👍
thinking 34 Lbs
Hope there are a few more out there this season. Thanks for watching
33.5 lbs
I’m guessing 26 & 1/4 pound!
Thanks for watching and the guess. We’ll have the weight on the next video👍
Maybe 38 lbs!
I’ll drop the weight on the next one. Thanks for the guess👍. Take care
32.75 lbs
Thanks for watching. Wolverine are one of the best catches out there. God bless
27lbs.
What do you mean by gum up the set?
I mean an animal other than a wolverine filling up a trap so a wolverine can’t be caught there. I’m happy with whatever I catch but we’re pulling more for wolverine or wolves.
Thanks for asking
Odaea pride says 13lbs
Thanks for watching and for the guess. God bless
34 lb
Do you have chemical warmers in your boots and mittens?
Hi, no I don’t have any warmers with me. I used to carry a few in my bag but not usually unless my wife or daughter is with me. Just a bit of toe and finger movement keeps them warm. Thanks for asking. God bless
What is your footwear? How you liking the 600 ACE?
Hi Jim👋. I’m wearing what we call Canvas boots. They have moose skin around the foot and on the bottom, and canvas up the calves. Oh man I’ve had this snow machine for almost 5 winters and I’m loving it. It’s really good on gas. About what I would burn in a good running 250cc bravo.
I just subbed your channel👍
did you make the boots? I tried a pair of the Military Mukluks, I would say they are good for about 60 above LOL@@enigmaticgwichin1630
33lbs
Thanks for the guess👍 I’ll have the weight on the next video. Have a good one
Looks like more of feed line instead of a trap line..🤷♂️
lol. If you feed them they will come👍
38 pounder.
Oh man catching wolverines is great. Thanks for watching and the guess👍
24 lb
Thanks for watching Art. It was a great first catch of the season. Thanks for the guess the next video will have the weight👍
