Thank you for the great advice. I really do appreciate it. I'm going to make notes on the components you use to put an order in. I'd like to make one of those boxes with all the parts ready to go and start making them this summer. Have a great day.
That was a beautiful wolf! Nice looking fur on him. I just pulled my 90 lb male wolf off the stretcher and took it into F+G for the tag and brought the skull in for pulling the tooth. I use the Seneker springs too with good luck, along with the cam lock and a 750lb break away. The pack left for a while but are back again, looks like 5 or 6. Nice work way to go! Saved a bunch of moose, elk, deer etc.
What a great show, Brother! Beautiful Critters. I would love to catch a Cougar. The population is increasing quite a bit around here. Here in Saskatchewan, if I catch one I can keep it. Thanks for sharing your adventures! Take care brother.
Your helper picked a good day to come out congrats on the wolf and the rest all the furs , growing up hunting never seen one and very little tracks of cougars now everywhere seen at least 6 out hunting the last 20 yrs i should of packed a tag i do now ive also noticed when im out with my lab on the atv lots of time i find they will track us the last time im pretty sure there was 3 following us looking at the tracks
Fine trapping, I'm was hooked at once. Thanks for the spring on the snare, without it would be a awfully slow death. Cougars are heavy for their size, only one point I knew before. My state of Germany a fly of the maps, has between 6000 and 6500 wolves (1994 0)strictly backed by law and whole Sweden 340. Can you believe this madness? In your work I feel your love for nature and wilderness, with harvesting the creatures and respect them, that's relaxing for me on a top notch. You're going your own tempo, I myself do it too. You're looking a little bit like me, but I could be your dad. God's Blessings from Northern Germany Ludwig. You're baptized Nathanael? Or Nathan? Just asking..
I could watch your videos for hours. No diarrhea of the mouth! Just very good dialogue. What does the Fish and Game do with the cougars? Excellent video…..
Awesome stuff brother, couple of great checks 👍👍, those lynx a really pretty, sucks that cougar ate that coyote and then got herself caught, unfortunately that stuff happens once in awhile
Beautiful wolf and pelts hanging!!!! And congrats on the two Lynx, the two Fisher and a cougar also!!!! So what's done with the cougar after you turn it in??? I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
New to trapping in Southern British Columbia, really enjoy your videos. I would like to get information on your wolf snares if you are willing to chat and share information. They seem to work very well
I have a video that shows how I build them, typical modern snare but I don't use the trigger is the only difference, everyone has their preference in cable size but all I can say is, never cheap out on any components, if your cable has a pigtail when taking off the spool, I 'wouldn't use it, not all cables are created equal and cheap cable will break way easier, same for the components. Hope this helps!
Great video keep up the great work you do. Question so that cougar so you are not allowed 🚫 to trap it , what do you do with it is there a government agency you have to contact.
You have talent my friend! Also really cool to see you do a few things I also do and thought was the only one do it! Very interesting!!!! Frist time seeing it for me! Where you located? I’m in Canada ?
Unlucky that you can`t keep the cougar. That`s one critter on my bucket list and in Sask we get to keep them, just have to report it. Hope your snow doesn`t melt away on you Was that wolf a female, I figured around 80 lbs is what they are, that and the fact that it was pretty lol
Good evening I was just watching your video on how you make your wolf snares and it was excellent. That's how I will be making mine.. one question how long do you boil them for, after you make them, in the baking soda?
I'd say about an hour, along with spruce branches and some tree bark, once dried I put them in a tote layered with spruce branches until used, but make sure they are dried or you will gat condensation in your tote. One thing I can emphasize enough is to use good quality components and ensure you have a good crimp, not all swagers give a good crimp. Can't go wrong with the good old hammer and anvil.
It's a nice sled, basically identical to a Tundra but way more stable, it's actually my wife's sled, I will be going back to a Skandic, would have already but with the lack of snow it's not very tempting right now. The box was a quick job just to have something, I never did take a video, I'll try and include some details on it eventually. Had to build it so the 2-up seat would still fit. Thanks!
I probably would have walked right past that wolf covered by snow. It's a shame F&W doesn't let you keep the cougar. What do they do with them? I don't understand why they don't just have you bring them in and register the catch and then let you keep it. It sucks that CZcams doesn't allow you to show the skinning process. I enjoy seeing how that's done by different trappers. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
Thanks Tony! The Cougars get destroyed or sometimes are sent for studies, YT does allow some skinning, just never find time to get all the videos I'd want, but YT sure is picky on some stuff! Not a free country anymore, especially when it is totally legal!
Destroyed? Now that's a waste of a perfectly good animal. I'm 100% for common sense conservation efforts but that just doesn't make any sense. @@whatido3021
I was wondering if you sell lynx my grandson wants to tan one and we don’t have them in the area I’d pay for one skinned and fleshed and I’d pay shipping to
Not really, it was in the past but they finally realized there's a lot of Cougars around. I find it funny how they say that one shouldn't be setting snares within 200 yards from a bait site to avoid catching Cougars, I never knew they flew into the bait!! Funny how they think!
Wow, Nick picked a good day to tag along! Lots of talk about wolves and cougars around me, but I have yet to see any. Another awesome video.
Wow that cougar was beautiful - interesting talk about the paws of the wolf and weight of the cougar - thanks for this great video, cheers
You have a great day! Thanks for taking us along.
What a great video. That wolf was a big fellow. That cougar would make a great mount. Thanks fellows for sharing.
Thank you for the great advice. I really do appreciate it. I'm going to make notes on the components you use to put an order in. I'd like to make one of those boxes with all the parts ready to go and start making them this summer. Have a great day.
You know you are leading a great life when you don’t know what the date is!!!😂 keep up the great work, we sure enjoy your videos!!!❤
Sure is nice to forget about what day it is!!
Thanks for sharing with us. Seems like every time I watch your channel I pick up some new ideas.
Thanks! Glad it can help, all trappers have some tricks to share! The one that claims to know it all, is the one you don't want to listen to!
Very nice takes! Also, great videography and editing. Thanks for taking us along...

Got yourself a nice dog buddy . Guy here in the 709 got a 85 lbs coyotes ( it a wolf 🐺) soon as you look 👀 at it .
Great video
Lions are a great catch. Save the deer and moose.
I wish we could keep them, such a waist!
what a great check! that was one long legged wolf! that first fisher was sure a dandy. as always, your videos are First Rate! Congrats
Thanks Holger!
Nice job👍
Awesome day on the trap line. Later and all the best.
Nick bring you good luck on trap lines . 😊
You should take Nick along more often. He seems to be good luck for you.
I could watch your videos for hours. No diarrhea of the mouth! Just very good dialogue.
What does the Fish and Game do with the cougars?
Excellent video…..
Thanks! Fish and wildlife destroy them and sometimes will send them for studies.
Awesome stuff brother, couple of great checks 👍👍, those lynx a really pretty, sucks that cougar ate that coyote and then got herself caught, unfortunately that stuff happens once in awhile
Thanks Frank! The Cougar numbers are high around here once again.
Sure Nick, it’s always like this 😜
get er done pilgrim

I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Another great video. Really appreciate you sharing your videos with us. Is it a pain to ship a wolf to the US
Thanks Jason! It is a pain, wolves need a cities permit but it can be done.
New to trapping in Southern British Columbia, really enjoy your videos. I would like to get information on your wolf snares if you are willing to chat and share information. They seem to work very well

young female cougar is good eating .. so tender
That's a good day good job
Thanks Chad!
Great video keep up the great work you do.

Good luck on getting one, more of pain in the butt to catch them here! That wolf was a male, nice fur on him.
Super cool 👍are the fisher in your area full of fleas like they are in my area ? The two I had this season were full of them little buggers
They do, but sure hit and miss, some are covered and some barely have any. Thanks for watching Paul!

How are you liking the expedition? I didn’t see the video of the box making.

Do you get to keep the cougar after you show it to fish and wildlife?
No they keep them since they are not a fur bearing animal.
Is this near cochrane ?
I am up around Swan Hills
It’s a shame on that cougar you can’t keep em.. Doesn’t look like you’re going to get that snow mobile out this season, that’s crazy….
Thanks Scott, sure not looking good for the snowmobile for sure! I need snow and colder temps so I can start on the wolf leg holds!
I probably would have walked right past that wolf covered by snow. It's a shame F&W doesn't let you keep the cougar. What do they do with them? where is that BC canada?
I am in Alberta.
I was wondering if you sell lynx my grandson wants to tan one and we don’t have them in the area I’d pay for one skinned and fleshed and I’d pay shipping to
I'd love to but I can only sell them once they are tanned, unless you are a licensed fur buyer.
@@whatido3021 how much for one already tanned
Are you located in Alberta? I'd have to check on pricing.
@@whatido3021 No I live in the United States
I'd have to get a cities permit which takes a while and I don't have any skinned out with the claws on, they are all dried for auction.
That’s a great check ! To bad the F&W don’t get their shit together and let a guy keep the cougar . Such a waste what they do with them .
Sure is a waste, they destroy them or send them for studies. Take care out there!
Skandic to Expedition?
Expedition is my wife's sled, I'll be going back to a Skandic, glad I couldn't find one when I was looking with the lack of snow!
Do you have to go through a lot of BS. About the cougar in the snare?
Not really, it was in the past but they finally realized there's a lot of Cougars around. I find it funny how they say that one shouldn't be setting snares within 200 yards from a bait site to avoid catching Cougars, I never knew they flew into the bait!! Funny how they think!
