I like your attention to detail and I can certainly appreciate your wrestling with the tank under the car - BTDT! My filler is put together the same way. Doesn't make much sense unless maybe it has something to do with insulating from static discharge, which is why the inner tube is lead lined (replacements are just bare metal so that probably isn't really an issue). Come to think of it, that would explain why that gasket is so thick too.
We had the pleasure of having one of the original engineers for these cars in a car club I belonged to back in the 90's and I learned a lot from him.
For ref, have you heard of Classic Tube? They make replacement hard lines (fuel, brake, etc) for our cars if you need any of them. You can even get them in stainless.
Great update Matt - you're an inspiration!
Great info Scott. I'm planning on making my own lines but I will look into the prebent lins to see if I want.to go that way. Oh and thanks for the kind words. The truth is all you guys keem me going on these projects.
I feel the same way, it's always fun to get working on the Thunderbird, but it's also good to take a break for other projects... especially for growing the channel, gotta have variety. Maybe I'm just trying to justify the new project I don't need! Lol
Hey Alvin. It is good to work other projects and it is definitely a justification for buying more junk.. lol
Hello Matt. Nice job on the tank/line installation. The gasket you got is probably for the 66 model (maybe 65 also) as the filler tube is not protected by another tube. My 66 has a shield mounted on the outside of the fill tube to protect it.

Good to hear from you George. I felt like the gasket was the wrong one. I was able to get it to work with the homemade one though.
Nice work.
Thanks Rick
Long time subscriber. You have 618 subs...have you noticed a big subscriber bump every time you flash that "Subscribe" logo on the screen? Not sure if it's helping. As a dedicated viewer it is a bit irritating. And so is the outro "reminding" everyone to subscribe.
You are a genuine presenter (nothing phoney going on), so what might help is spending a bit of time tightening up the edits. You should be able to get watch data that will tell you where people are skipping. And the algorithm can tell the difference too, so it should push your videos higher up people's recommended list.
Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback Moe. I don't get a lot of it from viewers so when I do I I listen carefully. Thanks for being a long time viewer. You've been here from the first video and have given me good feedback from the biginning.
