Gungjung-ddeokbokki is actually the original ddeokbokki and is very different than the more well-known red, spicy version. This was before hot peppers were introduced or popular in Korea, so it isn't spicy at all. - Jak na to + styl
I love your recipes! I make them regularly! Thank you so much for your awesome videos!!! 💜
👍Happy cooking!
I LOVE rice cakes and spicy Tteokbokki, so I knew I had to try this. I made it tonight for my family. I had to make a few substitutions. I couldnt find the stick shaped rice cakes, so I used the oval sliced ones usually for soup instead. I also used boneless pork rib meat instead of beef brisket. Everything else I did exactly like you said. My husband said it was one of the best things he's ever eaten and asked if I would start making it regularly. My daughter got sad when we ran out and asked if I would cook more rice cakes for her to snack on!😂 We loved it so much!! I've never seen my family go so crazy for a meal before! Thank you so much for sharing your delicious recipes with the world! This is the 5th recipe I've made of yours and they are always DELICIOUS!
Continued good luck on your Korean cooking!👏
Hi Ms. Maangchi, last Saturday I've entered a cooking competition called "Global Taste of Korea" in the Philippines. I did Gungjung Tteokbokki as my entry. The judges asked me where did I learn how to cook it and I said I've learned it from you and they know you. 😊 Two of the judges are Miss Lily Min and Madam Lee Jong Min (if I'm not mistaken). Unfortunately, I did not win out of 30 contestants, but I had a great experience. I'll will learn more about Hansik and I will make you as an inspiration. Next year, I'll try to join the competition again. Thank you for sharing your videos. 😁 Please cheer for me. 😆
the way she creates uniform symmetrical slices out of vegetables so neatly.. so satisfying to watch

I just made this tonight for dinner. I absolutely loved it! My sister-in-law, who is a little picky with the things she eats and is fairly new to many cuisines, loved it as well. She even liked the rice cakes! I'll definitely make this again, and I can't wait to try the spicy ddeokbokki next time.

Made this tonight, with chicken, instead of beef, since it's all I currently have. I also used the infused oil from the buju japchae recipe to give this dish some heat, since I always like a little bit of spice. In the words of Maangchi, "OH MY!!!" This is absolutely delicious, I'm about to eat all of it.
haha, thanks a lot! Cheers!

Because of your videos, I make ddeokbokki all the time at home. Thanks!
I like the new filming style! You should have two types of shots filmed simultaneously; Macro close-ups and then mid shots. This would make it look even better! Love it. Keep up the great vids.
Mmmm thank you for your recipe! I just made it and it was delicious!!
Love your recipe
Do you like the music? I made it with garageband.
I am a 14 year old boy. I love cooking and watching your videos. My neighbor who I knew almost my whole life is from Jeju Island. And her niece near Kaeseung(Gimpo) I make your recipes and bring to her to make her feel at home.P.S.How do you spell Arirang, and Dasi Mannapsida in Korean?
I'd like to answer you instead of her if you don't mind:) Arirang is 아리랑 and dasi mannapsida is 다시 만납시다 in Korean.
Hola Maangchi , I love 💕 your videos. I was so excited to make your rice cake dish. And my sister and my niece loves it. I already made it twice. I’m going to do it again soon because my sis loves my rice cakes dish. Thank u so much. Keep it up.
