My favorite part of Wolfe videos is that he goes "Damn, I just lost on that" and then wins like 3 turns later 95% of the time.

I feel like that might be because he is used to playing against better players in general. Like if he is against a really good player they will be able to close out the game against him most of the time in the given position. Anyways, still funny.
I think thats because he's always planning for the worst case scenario. Ie what would the opponent do if they had the same skill level as him. He can see the lines that lead to him loosing, and plays around those, and most of the times the opponent isnt simply skilled enough to actually materialize that into a win, even if they had a commanding position at some point of the game.
My personal favorite is how 8 of 10 games Wolfy be like "ohh thats a really good lead from the opponent" or "I made a terrible lead", and yet come ahead always.

I like how Wolfey says we can try this challenge ourselves like we have the world champ difference too.

Honestly dipplin is gonna be pretty cool especially when it evolves.
Update on December 16th, 2023: I now see that I was correct. We have Hydrapple, the beautiful final evolution of our adorable syrupy apple dragon.
I can’t wait for the other two apples to be completely invalidated once the new evo comes out!

Fun fact about defiant into super sweet syrup, the game doesn’t count syrup as the opponent lowering speed, but the syrup lowering speed. This means that the defiant Mon doesn’t get an attack boost from the syrup ( I learned this when playing against a dippplin with gambit, super surprised I had -3 speed with no attack boosts)
There's so many arbitrary exceptions it's hard to keep track.
Learned that from Bisharp in White when doing the double battle subway thing. I really thought I was on to something too, 😅
Defiant is so good for Tera raids. I was using a low level Pawniard to destroy raids because that attack boost was so helpful.

@@RFDN0probably bc of how heavily they balance some moves around accuracy... imagine some of those moves just being able to farm evasion drops. Rock might hit every time!
@doylethompson1510 That is what I figured would be the case initially. The big thing is that swapping counters the effect. The mon also isn't the best typing.

Never underestimate Wolfey's ability to take a Pokemon that looks innocuous and make it a beast. I'd kinda like to see a run with Glimmora. I know people are aware it's capable, but it still feels slept on for some reason.
It is really good at getting hazards up, which in my understanding are not that strong in doubles, the format wolfey mostly plays. But it would be interesting, building a team around hazards maybe with some frail venoshock users that don't like sturdy and focus sash or something.
@@ayskaripepperooni2770 I used a Merciless Toxapex with venoshock in VGC format to take advantage of the toxic spikes my team was able to set up. On my team it had a more supportive role, being a bulky wide guard user, but even with little to no sp. atk. investment a venoshock from a Merciless Toxapex does a lot of damage. For how bulky and hard to get rid off, it was truly a menace in my experience.
TL:DR use Merciless Toxapex lol.

@@ayskaripepperooni2770 That's true. But the one thing that it doesn't quite take into account is Glimmora's monstrous 130-base special attack stat, so it could hypothetically go on the offensive quite effectively if it were to be built as such.
I'm still holding out for Wolfey to reach #1 in the world with Snom.

This may be off topic, but Goodra seems like a very good counter to Ogerpon. Sap sipper, good bulk, good offensive stats, can learn Sludge bomb (for Ogerporn) and Heavy slam for Fairy types (Flutter mane).

It would be a problem; if this was still Gen 6 or sooner and the ability existed and worked like that. With one evasion drop, 80% is pushing it when it comes to viability, and DV is no longer 80% as of Gen VII. It’s 50%. I wouldn’t rely on it, personally.
I wonder what Wolfey thinks of Hydrapple. Also I love the use of Undertale's Mad Dummy theme in the background.

I think that the whack iron hands was just the player throwing a recently caught iron hands, not realising it was just a random one, as the 3 revealed moves it has in the wild when you catch it. good for them to stick it out in the end though.

It actually just has the four last attacks it learned at level 50
That Iron Hands is like me doing all the prep for a Tera Raid and forgetting to set moves (did it with Mew for the Mewtwo Tera Raid, had bug tera and all the evs etc and none of the moves lol)

My first gold run had a female furret with rest, snore, attract, and fury cutter with the 1 leftovers. It killed everything and so I missed the meme totally
@@billybones6463 Yeah, my furret did great and pulled it's weight in the elite four. I know in modern Pokemon it's weaker but still useful. Back in it's og game it was good, I wish they'd give it guts or a buff to compare with the power creep.
If hazards were more common, it might get to see some niche play thanks to have gained tidy up as well, but doesn't look like the power creep meta's going away any time soon. Maybe the next DLC will change things up.

I wish there was more to the Pokémon games than battling, like maybe making Pokémon Contests a fully fledged thing
i miss the contests, the black and white dress up game, and hidden bases so much
edit, i forgot to mention the whole clothes exclusive to dlc thing, thats so annoying. i like customization a lot but the last games that felt like they really let me just dress up for fun without everyone else looking way better with dlc clothes that were made with higher effort were x and y 💀 (though sword and shield were fun too)
