About Gold Shaw Farm: Gold Shaw Farm is more of a farm-in-progress than an honest-to-goodness farm. We dream that someday we can transform our 150+ acre parcel of land into a regenerative and productive homestead and farm. - Zábava
As a starving student in my day, I completely understand prize's true worth.
As a current starving art student, I couldn't agree more 😢
Just so ya know, that little guy was the world champion pepper eater who the burrito company secretly hired to ensure they didn't have to follow through giving away such an extraordinary grand prize.
That chicken had her life flash before her eyes when your foot came down lol. She noped outta there!
😂😂😂😂😂
This was such a funny, well told story! Like many Southeast Asians, I grew up eating Thai chilis so I find it hilarious that people fell out of the competition even before that stage 😂 Major props for 3rd place and this interesting retelling.
Thai chilis are a delight! So yummy and good with everything. ♥️
I had a best friend who was a refugee from Laos. She would go through my food and fish out the peppers for me. Bless her heart, she was my protector! Sadly, she's passed. I really miss her! 🙏❤️🙏
I'm sorry for that loss.
Sorry for your loss
Lol, good job Morgan. With 50 participants, placing 3rd is still incredible.
I am a real lightweight when it comes to eating peppers, but I thoroughly enjoyed your pepper-eating story! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
You are a brave man. I lived on Costco's hot dogs everyday for a decade. Not just as a student but working as a pilot instructor making less than minimum wage. I can't eat them anymore. I couldn't eat one pepper 👍
I've been told the Costco hot dog is worth the trip all by itself, and I keep meaning to try one. But by the time I'm through checkout I just want out of the circus tent.
@@urkiddingme6254thats totally me in any large store. In fact i haven't been in a large store in almost 5 yrs.
You are an excellent story teller! Captivating. You have got master skills!
You are such a good storyteller, the whole story was so captivating!
great story teller! need more of these types of videos! thanks Morgan!
I love how you are holding your tummy as you tell this story! 😊
Interesting about the milk 'antidote.' When I was still working, there was a huge Hunry's Hunan Restaurant down the street that we all loved. Henry served lots of great, spicy hot food. If he noticed someone profusely sweating and looking woozy from the heat, he would come to the table with a tall complimentary icy glass of CocaCola to alleviate the heat (the sweet counteracting the heat - although that may have been influenced by the lack of dairy in Chinese cuisine).
That's incredible, how you managed to go that far and win a T Shirt just seems wrong, lol! Great story Morgan, so glad you survived, scarred for life possibly, but here you are with another life experience we won't forget! Thanks for the share, life is good at Gold Shaw Farm.
I took my youngest to a chilli eating contest and we had to sign a legal waiver just to enter. At that point in time we were growing 5 of the 10 hottest chilli's in the world in our garden, so needless to say we had a better than average spice and heat tolerance than most. Heck he even used to take habaneros for a snack in his lunch box, however our undoing was a chilli infused whiskey, which was the second last one and even though I had previously made and used it myself, it was the cheap nasty low quality spirits used to make it that sent all of the final 5 of us rushing straight to the bathroom to return it to sender and none of us won as we all bailed out at the same time.
Loved the story. You’re an amazing story teller.
Abbie Flashlight is falling apart. Must be near the end of her quarantine.
It’s always the day after that’s the worst after surgery and eating hot peppers.
You got robbed Morgan, they should've made up for the bottle of tequila with like a $50 gift certificate🌮
I know right?
Yes, WAY better than a tee shirt!❤
Another classic Morgan story, beautifully told. Love it!!
The guy who developed the Carolina Reaper pepper just developed the hottest pepper in the world. Pepper X.
Also, THE FIX WAS IN. Some people just aren't sensitive to capsicum the way most of us are. For them, it's just like eating apples. They're like parrots. 😂
I was wondering if the 1st place kid was one of those rare people with no pain response. Like the athletes who run until they collapse, because they receive no warning signals.
Hilarious and well told! Thanks for the great story!
Gosh, have I laughed!!😂😂😂 You are truly an amazing story teller.😂😂😂
You are such a great storyteller, and I enjoyed the photography today too. Thanks!
OH YEAH, a burrito a day you can live on!
My granddaughter is immune to hot chilies. It’s a good thing Morgan didn’t face a competition against her.
Great story!I could almost feel the burn ! I don't envy the aftermath of them doing up or going through the next day ! Xxx
Well done mate, Ive also participated in pepper eating contest. My highest place was 2nd at an F1 grand prix in silverstone UK. The last one we ate was a reaper and I was leaking from every pore of my body... A Thai guy beat me, the crowd was about 4k and it was mental, I truly believe I was high AF from the chillies... won 500 pounds sterling and missed the race the next day and spent it dying in a tent and mostly in a portaloo... I grow all different varieties now in my greenhouse... I would of won if it was today, tolerance is through the chart now
rip loo
I became fond of raising animals thanks to you
This was very enlightening as to your character. I now know you have indisputably earned the right to pamper yourself with a $600 robotic cat litter box.
Those litter boxes are truly life-changing, worth every penny.
Hey. It doesn't matter if you won or not, the fact that you put yourself in such a fierce and painful content shows that you are not a failure. AND that's what counts!!!
I would have gone back to that Taqueria on my 21st birthday screaming "YOU OWE ME TEQUILA!!" Great story though! I grow peppers myself including Naga Bhuts (Ghost Peppers) and Trinidad Scorpions which I make sauces and cook with regulary, you are very brave to go in for so long! Maybe you will make it to the 1st place next time!
I thought the exact same! ..plus I think it was the quantity not the heat that did for poor Morgan in this one
^^^THIS^^^
You’re such a great storyteller.
I love this story time Morgan!! I’d love to hear some more :)
Been there. After consuming a bunch including two reapers I could feel the posterior burning, leaking ooze for days. The cramping the next day was unforgettable. This episode of GSF was my fave yet. Brought me back to that moment where I questioned my own life.
You are an awesome story teller!!!!!!!!!!
You are such a good story teller!
I can’t get enough of this channel 😊
That burrito place missed the opportunity to host your 21st.
What a story. I have never been to an eating competition, but I can completely understand why you did it and it is amazing getting that far, even if it probably wasn't the safest thing to do eating that many Scotch bonnets. It seems wrong for eating that many, the t-shirt was the only prize you got. The little guy reminds me of a friend I had in college. He once ate 4 Scotch bonnets at the same time and it never bothered him at all. I was amazed.
In the early 2010s to about 2016-17, I used to eat spicy peppers practically every day at least once. I always had at least one food stuff every day that contained some hot spicy peppers like burritos, pizza, tacos, with rice and more. I even grew my own and ate them. That could explain at least one reason why I have had issues sometimes with bad acid reflux and have had it for years. I still eat spicy food but a lot less now and when I do, it has to be a bit milder.
Such a good story teller! Thank you
Oh, my goodness, Morgan, that contest was inhumane, to say the least.
Ginny Barn Cat is up to here scene-stealing ways.
Dude! If you had that 3rd place t-shirt under the flannel the entire time you were telling this story and pulled a Superman at the end I would’ve lost it 😂. Great story, and I don’t comment much 👍🏾
That would have been cool. Long since lost it
Exactly - food eating contest in my head equals Stand By Me equals nope 😂
I just luv your story telling Morgan. ❤
A few weeks ago my friends had a hot wing eating contest. The winner threw up, and the other 7 people in the last round was getting shakes and cramps.
Back in 2000 or so Vacationing in the Cayman Islands they put the Scotch bonnet peppers in vinegar and used the juice like Tabasco sauce. But I pulled one out of the jar and started to eat it the look on the local residents' faces at the table was Shock Nooooo they said, too late. Lesion learned the hard way.🥵
Lol you have a way of explaining your experiences where I can see it and you had me laughing so hard lol. Sorry you had to suffer for those few days.
That was amazing story! . The experience and the story you got from that challenge probably worth all the pain afterwards .
When I was eating as cheaply as possible I lived on eggs for protein. They aren’t so cheap anymore.
Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing!😊
Great story, Morgan! And even better told! I knew before, I would never try this 😅
As a senior, I also understand the value of that 1st prize.
Morgan I absolutely LOVE you!!! And I LOVE this video!!! You had me on the edge of my seat for this entire video!! I was sooo rooting for you to win...Poor guy...lol...This is one of my most favorite videos you've ever posted!! Thanks for the awesome content!! You are so awesome!!❤❤❤
Best pepper eating story ever. I was invested from beginning to end
I love the story, and the fact that you looked up a word makes my teacher heart happy! I would have died on the first pepper. LOL
Great story Morgan...lost track of you for a while and I must say your editing and content skills are awesome(er)!
alt title: "RELEASE THE CRAPPIN'!"...Lol!
Hahahaha
I don't know when the show Man versus food came out but I was obsessed with that show as a kid/teen
OMGOSH that ending sentence! LOL Congrats on that Morgan. But omgooosh that sounds like quite the ordeal! But it all makes for memories~ Thank you for sharing!
I love that the big guy was just holding out from sheer determination. There's no way his innards weren't in just as much misery as yours
You should have talked them into giving you the tequila bottle converted into same value in burritos 🙂
this
OMG, I was laughing. I didn't know you went to art school in Boston! I was there too. BTW.....I feel it is just fine to revel in the weirdness. I take great pleasure in it!
I did a Ghost Pepper Challenge for fun, Video is still up too. I decided to try it while playing a difficult game and I was screaming and roaring in pain and yes I did throw up too afterward.
So I know how you felt afterward and saying it sucks is a massive understatement.
You walk away with a great story to tell on your future you tube channel. I know you never even dreamed of that at 20 years old.
I once won a steak eating contest once, 48oz of ribeye plus 2 sides. Thought I was going to die that night with meat sweats. Not worth it but I did get a free meal a month until my record was broken...the next month.
My husband tells a story about a medical school classmate who went to Thailand one summer for some kind of work program. One night after dinner, some of the locals were sitting around a fire eating some small peppers. Of course the American students had to prove their manliness and starting tossing back those peppers by the handfuls. The locals kept giving them the peppers and laughing. Next morning, screams were heard coming from the latrines as the previous night’s foolishness was exiting bodies in the most painful way possible.😂😂😂
Hahaha! I feel their pain. Sometimes I make our curries a bit too hot. 🇦🇺
The hottest peppers I've eaten was last year in Calabria🌶
The way you describe that third contestant, it reminds me of Tyrone Biggums. Crack is a hell of a drug. He was probably thinking "Mmm-Mm, Free food that get me high AND a years worth of burritos after. Count me in!"
🎶 He's Tyrone🎶🤷♀️🤣
😅 couldn't imagine. Fun to watch. Stay happy. ❤
Crazy good story telling!
Funny, thanks for sharing.
Interestingly enough, caffeine is also a natural pesticide, which is why elevation affects how much caffeine is in the beans
T shirt should have said I placed 3rd in hot pepper eating contest and all I got was this lousy t shirt. 😂 Sitting on each of chair. Great story told by great story teller.
🇦🇺 Bloody awesome re-tell man ..... Proud of you bro! 🇦🇺
I was on the edge of my seat the whole 20 minutes. 😂
That's brilliant! I was only able to eat when I was in college bc I worked two waitressing jobs and got shift meals and stuff they were going to throw out. I totally would have been in that contest.
true!! you never go hungry working in the restaurant.
I went to art school in Boston too in 2007 ❤ Such great foods there. I miss it but I'm happy up in NH
You're a great storyteller . I'm saving this video.😅
I am locked in a psych room at hospital.and good ole flashlight made me laugh out loud. really sounding cray cray. she stepped on the poor dead thing. lol
Great Story!!!! Loved it.
You should just keep one black glove on while you heal - the Luke Skywalker look, like he went back to farming after the war instead of trying to re-form the Jedi order.
Nice!
1:08 Yep! That’s exactly where my brain went, too!
I am 61 years old & I LOVE hot peppers. The hotter the better. But I'm telling you, you are my Hero! I could never do this. My ex son in law grew a mix breed of Habanero & Jalapeno peppers. He said he tried a fresh one right out of the garden & could not handle it. I'm like, yea right. So I ate one. NEVER AGAIN!! That sucker was soooo hot, it took hours before my mouth settled down to a warm burn. I was about 57-58 at the time. And there was no prize for this one but survival. 😂🤣. But I still eat the hot sauces, some hot peppers, & hot pickles. 😅👍.
The poorest ive ever been is as a college student. We would make Stew for $15 and make it last a week by only eating 1 bowl a day. We would go to bed so hungry sometimes, knowing we arnt getting money for another week. Unfortunately, i didn't qualify for Food Stamps. I dont know how poor you have to be to get food stamps, but apparently starving wasn't poor enough.
I was waiting to hear that “the little guy” was Joey Chestnut 😂 but Morgan’s zinger at the end was better!
Hey Gang 👋, GREAT POSTING, you are a WINNER in my book, God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family keep up the great work love U guys XOXOXO stay safe and healthy
Been wondering for a while...how do you maintain continuity through various scene changes where you're shown talking throughout all of them? ❤ your channel.
your flashlight is broken
😆
Great story!
Dayum, Morgan! That's gnarly! I have some Carolina Reaper hot sauce on my kitchen counter, but I am cognizant (to put it diplomatically) of that "morning rebate". However, living in Los Angeles, Mexican food is just a staple. That said, I might consider entering such a contest for that daily free burrito for a year.
Fun story. Good delivery. Have a great day.
Loved the story!
LOL Stand By Me a great movie but excellent Steven King short story, caught me off guard.
Great story ❤
Well told!!
Very well told story👍
Aaa Morgan! I had fun listening to the story😅 thanks for sharing 👍
That was the bomb of a story!!
The geese have mown the lower pasture into a lawn! 5:55
Good job Ginny!
LMAO Made me laugh....HARD.
