New mini bike riding, Mega Moto 212 pro versus Mega Moto Max 212cc

  • I was out riding my new mini bike with my brother, comparing the Mega Moto 212 Pro versus the Mega Moto 212 Max and the Coleman BT200X.
    Most of the riding footage I scraped, but I did get a good comparison feel overall. The top speed of the Mega Moto 212cc Pro mini bike was 31 mph, after pulling back the throttle stop screw, even with the torque converter for performance.
    This is the mini bike formerly known as the "monster moto 212cc". It has front and read disc brakes, similar to a dirt bike or full out motorcycle. Nice comfortable seat, and with the torque converter some pretty nice performance.
    Also, I've found the tip to search for minibike shirts on amazon is to put the words in quotes.

    All depends on the set up on the motor how fast you can actually go with how the governor is set , then work your way down to the CVT clutch changing springs, and also on the secondary clutch drive, then on to sprockets.

  • @jamest.5001
    @jamest.5001 Před 2 lety

    The cams in those engines are basically designed to work in the 2500-3500rpm range, to work on a bike, the governor needs to be ditched, and at least a cam and springs, and a billet rod, maybe a flywheel, a bit of money, but at least you would be happy, and back in the day, I got my briggs to haul, by adjusting the mixture screw at full throttle, unscrew it about 8 turns,. I could feel it making more power, it was way rich at idle so maybe try that, I just screwed it in a turn or so until it was manageable, still rich, rough idle, a little smoke, but managing to get a higher idle speed would somewhat fix that, maybe drill a very tiny hole in the throttle blade, to stop it from pulling from the idle circuit, leaning it out slightly, I mean a hole the size of a hole in a jet then the screw can be unscrewed for top end power, still idling nicely, but an aftermarket motorcycle carb would be much easier to tune, with the slow jet, main jet, and the needle adjustment, plus the Venturi could be larger, allowing more air and fuel, making even more power! I have heard these engine are making 15-20+HP with mods like this, spinning to 5600rpm or in the range, ppl are spinning these to 8k, 9k+,
    But how fast would you want to go on a tiny set of tires!! Mine gets spooky around 50, 60 mph, and definitely got to be going straight, 30 is too fast in a curve it's nothing like a motorcycle!!

    Clutch vs a torque converter on a stock bike? :P
    Makes perfect sense, one isn't actually faster it just accelerates faster because it doesn't have to overcome the driven pulley that it doesn't have enough ass to do stock.
    My opinion is all, you have done way more experiments than I have.

    Now the kit for the Pro without an engine is 650 bucks and no title, I have an Coleman RT200 coming and the prices went WAY up! So is a Coleman RB200/RT200 the best of both worlds? MegaMoto 212 Pro frame equiped like a MAX, no CVT, just missing the front disc brake?

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 3 lety +1

      So, sort of, yes-ish, mostly. I would say the pro having front disc brakes is very nice but that's about the edge is has. The way you have to install a a CVT/torque converter on the RB is actually works out what I'd think is a lot nicer configuration to work on or even get help with. Many people complain about the jackshaft setup on the Pro when compared to a standard 30 series install. Also, Coleman switched to certificate of origin (I just got 2 more from Coleman) but easier to approach title work.

    Hello, i have question about this model (212 PRO). Do you put any oil on the right side after removing the plug/cap that is on the cover. The plug/cap is located on the front right side right below the gas tank. I have no idea what its there for. i'm asking for my mother.. i am dying to know because she has been trying to figure this out for over 8 hours spanning several days. Help me please.

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 4 lety +1

      Some small engines have an engine kill switch mounted there. It's like on a car where there is a high end model with extra switches on the dashboard, but lower models don't have the feature so the manufacturer puts a plug or cover on. Same part used for different engines, saves cost. No oil in there, that's your flywheel and you don't want oil in the magnets and coils/electrics.

Flat paved road, my 230lbs, top end is 44mph. That's bone stock. I haven't tried top end on my clutch version yet on the paved road. • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 3 lety

      Everything is different in a little way. Weld quality, brake caliper, engine, clutch, etc. The RB200/RT200 has the same frame shape as the pro but you can tell it's not the same 100%. The RB only has the rear disc brake, 196cc engine versus 212cc engine on the mega motos. The RB has a clutch and jackshaft. The mm max has straight chain and the mm pro has a tore converter. The mm out of box is a lot faster, the Coleman having more throttle restriction to remove. The seat, tires, rims, front shocks on the pro are the same. Little parts have differences as well but most would never noticed them.

    So there’s some in accurate information on this video about these bikes. The pro with the CVT out of the box has a top speed of 33 according to Mega Moto And the max has a top speed of 29. The top speed with the CVT will always be much higher than just using a centrifugal clutch. I have the pro that I have customized And I have mini ape hangers And I have the governor completely removed and I have a stage one kit on it and it will go 50 mph. If you were to get the max and remove the governor and put a stage one because of the gearing it would not even go more than 40.

      I was a bit surprised and disappointing myself. My brother and I are both 6 ft, 170lbs. Kept racing and riding, switching bikes back and forth and each time, Max was clear winner down the line on top speed. Used Cool Niks speedometer with GPS for Android and I'm as shocked as the next person. You can re-gear the Max easily enough that if you have 9hp out of it you could likely do 50. Would need the torque up from gov pull though.

    You should definitely turn the governor up on the mega moto max you should atleast get about 60 or even 70 matter a fact even 80 mph just by using and turning up the governor on the mega moto max but that’s also what a lot of people don’t really or hardly understand because it’s right there the speed hacks right there

    • @jesse1136
      @jesse1136 Před rokem

      You're not going to hit 60, 70, or especially 80 on one of these bikes by doing anything to the governor.

      I had a few more videos lined up of why I was going to recommend these models. Only one issue out of the two bikes and very comfortable. Of my minis, people enjoy the Max the most.

    Exspecially the mega moto max

  • @michellejavierrivera2707

    torque convectors are more for off road and gives you more torque with less top speed and a centrifugal clutch is not to good on off road and has more top speed

      They are coming up on Marketplace here and there. The importer went out of business, but the frames are still being made. Coleman power sports is now importing the smaller mega moto mini bikes and I am curious if these will come back to the US. They are available in the UK with the branding "SkyTeam" mini bikes.

    I’m probably repeating this and I’m not reading every comment to find out, but did you ever stop to think that it’s a little bit slower because it IS beefier? Heavier frame means slower bike. That’s beyond common sense. And another simpler concept, are both sprockets the same in both bikes? If not, there’s another obvious reason for your difference in performance. 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 4 lety

      Has more torque and faster off the line. Weight difference is negligible. Gearing is different. Slower top speed only, a lot more pop off the line.
