Trailmaster MB200-2 VS Mega Moto MM212PRO Round 1 "Does Size Really Matter?"

  • Hey guys FatBuddyCat here! Every great mini bike has to start somewhere and while both of these bikes are so close to stock, I would like to take the time and give them a fair comparison before a run at the title. One of these bikes may take a little more preparation and modification but in the end it might be what it takes to rock the foundations of what is currently today's most capable, technologically advanced and performance enhanced mini bike offering on the market. Stay tuned and hold on tight, this is going to be a wild ride!!

    You know, the Mb200 does have rear pegs which makes it more like a dirt bike. It also makes cornering feel more stable and makes it way better for jumping/riding wheelies and you can stand up for rough terrain and goin over obstacles. You'd be amazed at how much better you can ride and correct the bike when standing up goin through rough/difficult terrain. I used to ride dirt bikes when I was a kid so the front pegs feel really weird to me. Using the rear pegs just feels better all round and also puts my feet under me more to catch myself if I need to. Only problem I have is now that I have installed stage 1 kits, the air filter prevents us from using the rear pegs making our bike's less enjoyable to ride.. tryin to figure somethin out until I can put aftermarket carb set ups on our bikes. Thank you for the video as I have been very curious on the size difference between to two bikes. For some reason everyone be too afraid to try out the mb200's when they come over so need to get something less intimidating to ride for family n friends like a moto or coleman lol

      I folded both sets of pegs a few months before I cut the Trailmaster in half. I now have the relocation bracket and mx pegs. The mb200-2 is a great bike but it has a few hurdles to get over.

    Really enjoyed the video. Have owned and enjoyed both very much. I definitely agree that the monster moto has a more sporty feel with the peg position, where the trailmaster is more cruiser.
    You did forget to mention the monster moto jackshaft bearings failing about every tank of fuel though. That was the deciding factor for me to get rid of the moto as I street ride long distance.

      @@fatbuddycat you've been lucky. Since the gears are so far apart, and pulling in different directions, it really torques the jackshaft and wears the bearings out and gets noisy quickly. A 100 mile ride was not an option for me. The trailmaster has the gears right next to each other pulling opposite directions, which leave the bearings almost neutrally loaded.

    Hey my mb200-2 has a lot of engine braking when I let off the throttle. Is this normal or should it sort of coast when I release the throttle at speed?

    • @fatbuddycat
      @fatbuddycat  Před 2 lety

      That's normal for a torque converter to provide some of that sensation. When you let completely off the throttle it should smoothly disengage the driver as the rpm drops. There are a lot of tricks and even routine maintenance that can keep even the stock unit running smoothly. My personal experience is that on most motors you can find a better spring combination that works for your mini bike rather than jump to any conclusions or try a super 30 series such as a Torkzilla or Juggernaut. Every bike I own is on a torque converter, 79cc up to 223.

    • @fatbuddycat
      @fatbuddycat  Před 2 lety

      @@lsj624 if it's the right belt size your biggest concern should be creeping or lurching when you are stopped and at an idle. As long as you can fully disengage then you are doing well. Carberuretors and exhaust can also get stuffy if something is off and cause that sensation. Say if the motor is running too lean and holding a hot idle. Chances are you have to break in the belt. Take the driver apart and clean the dusty rubber out of everything. You can use spray graphite to lubricate the bell when your done or just wipe dry with a clean rag.

      I sold it for $500 with a custom suspension Seat and a low hour hemi. I lost a lot of money on that bike.
