I always find it funny when people say that British food is bad, the food is fantastic here, proper comfort food and I love the weather here too. I’m a farmers daughter and was always told that there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing. Great video though guys. X
If it wasn't for the rain we'd be living in a desert.
Lol what a load of bollocks
The North American continent tends not to understand that our food tastes delicious but looks brown beige crap. mostly because we actually have food in our food not Colourants and plastic cheese...
@@Robedon Totally agree, but I also think the rest of Europe thinks our food is bad too.
@@Sarah-vr4gi I can take criticism of our food from European countries, (especially France, Italy and Spain, but no offence to the others), but the US!? No, no, no. You can’t be the nation which eats (as one other commenter has already said) cheese in a can, bubblegum and raw cookie dough and criticise any other nation.
But I like these guys, they’re cool.
Nothing wrong with British food, or the weather if you like the land to be green. It's the best country in the world, don't let anyone tell you any different :-)
Britain is one of a few countries that get the seasons as they're ACTUALLY supposed to be..shit grows in spring, fucking hot in summer, miserable as shit in autumn, and cold as balls in winter...couldn't imagine living in Oz where Christmas is sunbathing weather....
@@GodofMMA23 mine usually disappear in winter🥶
The Irish headed off to the USA. The 'criminal' English were sent to Australia. As the English comedian, Alexei Sayle, pointed out when he travelled to Australia, when he was asked if he had a criminal record, he said, "I didn't know you still needed one".
That gave me a good lol 😆
12% of the convicts sent to australia were irish... it is also those irish that colonised the most amount of the land
Criminals were sent to the American colonies before they were sent to Australia
@@Bookofwords Nobody volunteered to go, unless death was the alternative
@@MrDaiseymay find where I said it was a volunteer job to go? It was however their choice to slaughter the natives, but I'm sure you'll downplay that
Americans are so sweet and pure. When you point out to them that they don't actually speak English, they get all defensive. It does make me chuckle. And then I have to explain what 'chuckle' is... which kinda proves my point.
Australians are taller because they are upside down and over time the stretch, whereas in the UK we are the right way up therefore gravity is pulling is down, hence been shorter.
Nah Brits are not short as a race
@@robanks3895 😖
G'day from Wooloomooloo 🇦🇺
Besides our food being tasty the Brits on average are taller than Americans so not everything is bigger in the US 👍
Second tallest people in Europe, just behind the Dutch..
But the Yanks are fatter...
It's 1/4 inch on the average, so not much but just enough to shut the yanks up for a moment 😂
I'm 6'2" so I'm doing my little bit by keeping our average height in England above the mark.
Our food is great in the UK and the weather is brilliant we get all the four seasons I just love everything about our country and I’m proud to be English I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else but Al is hilarious he’s a very intelligent man love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👏👏👏😂😂😂👍💞💞
We have the best food in the world in the UK , granted we adopted it from everywhere else but it ours now....lol
Word 👊
True true
@wim caubergs There are always exceptions and personal tastes.....You cannot beat a good fish & chips by the sea side with the gulls fighting for the scraps...lol
@wim caubergs Yum sounds nice , and don't forget your mothers food though often plain was the best , a hearty stew , cottage or shepherds pie , various roasts dinners
on sunday , Bubble & squeak on mondays , mashed potatoes , sausages and many other homely staples ...... Then you add all the imports and its an aladdin's cave of delights....
and I'm sure every country has similar dishes.....
@wim caubergs nice to hear it cheers.....
Let's get one thing straight, British food is amazing, and the weather is not boring - you never know what it's going to do.
I love having 4 clearly defined seasons. It looks nice, it smells nice and it feels nice.
GORDON FUCKING RAMSEY!!! NUFF SAID!X
That's TWO things !?
When Billy Connolly went to Australia he was asked at Aussie customs if he had a criminal record. Billy replied "i didn't think we still needed one"
Convicts were sent from all parts of the British Isles often for many petty things. In the county of Dorset there are bridges that still have an engraved stone stating "Anyone causing damage to this bridge is liable for deportation to Australia"
There is a very active and spiteful Irish lobby in America that will punt out lies about England all the time. Unfortunately most Americans lap up this bullshit.
I'm going to be a luvvie and say I've met him a number of times when I was working in theatre management. He'll send out a member of the audience to get him a pint. So being a bit cheeky myself I sent the beer in with one of the belly dancers from the class in the dance studio. He adlibbed excellently and it really made her day. The audience loved it🤣😂😁👍
Despite the banter, we 🇬🇧 generally have a lot of love and respect for our commonwealth brothers, Even the somewhat wayward offspring in the 🇺🇸!Normal people can not be judged by their idiotic governments, shit, we have Boris and you have Joe! 😱
when you guys said you'd seen most of Al's stuff, i started laughing, for i know you've never heard the words "Grooming the badgers for the Badger Parade"
Wasn't that Harry Hill? or am I mistaken🤔
Badger Parade is cancelled!!!!!!
Al Murray best moments on taskmaster, a must watch , comedians given unusual task ( challenges ) see his Funny brain at work
l love the food here, there is an old saying don't knock it of you haven't tried it. Thank's for making me smile.
I had such a rough day, then watched this & laughed so much my stomach hurt😂 Great clip guys!!!
Welcome back luv! I'm laughing so hard, made my evening too.
Al did a series called 'Why does everyone hate the English?' It's very good
Al Murray "Secretary" is the best clip he has ever done. If you haven't seen it yet, you haven't seen the best.
Al Murray's act is just hilarious and a complete deviation from his actual personality and intellect, you just go with it.
You guys are freaking brilliant. Thank you. The best.
Love you guys! And how you "get" Al. He SO takes the pee out of the (untrue) xenophobic Brit stereotype, and is a superb example of how we Brits love to laugh at ourselves! Same way you guys don't take yourselves too seriously either. Once we stop laughing, and take ourselves too seriously, we are deep in the poo. Brit food is pretty superb, btw. And he summed up the Aussies perfectly!
Another cracking video fella's! Good to see you enjoying all things ENGLISH, especially the no-holds-barred humour, rugby & even our "tame" football chants! 😱 keep up the good work guys!! 👍🇬🇧
There are at least six Al Murray Pub landlord DVDs from his different tours, so there is still plenty to see if you want to as each show is over 90mins long
Oh Daniel you have much to say! Great fun and thank you two boys
Heyy guy's English food is bloody lovely!!!!... What gave you the impression that it was terrible 😱despite you dissing our food.. Another great vid guy's.. Keep up the good work 👍👌🤗🇬🇧😘
It's an age old myth that originated during WW2, where Americans tasted our (poor) British rashions and assumed all our food was that bad.
Awesome! Thanks for uploading guys. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
We used to send all our Convicts to Austrailia.
we also sent our mental ill off on the Mayflower lol
The price for pinching even just a mushroom or a bit of bread to feed your family with was indeed very severe . . . !
@@anoldfogeysfunwell, it was seen as a more humane punishment (at a time of escalating crime in swelling British cities) than execution or imprisonment. The latter would often be on rotting prison hulks as Britain didn't go in for large prisons until later. You worked your (hard) time and could be emancipated, becoming a normal colonial subject. For many, it would have been better than a (short) life in the disease-ridden alleys of London, crushing labour in a dangerous mill or foundry, or a swift drop on a short rope. Penal codes had been made very harsh in this period as a deterrent to increased lawlessness. But a close look at the stats show it was more complicated in enforcement than people realise. Stealing from strangers, things that were purely for money not survival, and repeatedly were more likely to get you the top end tariff than a hungry person filching an apple where they lived. With few/no police, many offenders were turned in by informants, which happened more where they were strangers in a community or had reason for that community to want rid of them (rightly or wrongly). Things which threatened social order were harshly treated - riot and rebellion was common in this period. A significant proportion of the Australian transported fell into the 'political prisoner' category. The example of the threat of transportation for damage to a stone bridge would also be seen as reasonable. That would not have been a minor matter for all sorts of reasons, social and economic.
Thinking in English gives more ways of being subtly superior. A natural advantage in diplomacy.
People ask me would I go to a school reunion and I always say no because I didn't like them back them so why would I want to reunite 😂 Yes im British 🤷♀️😂
The reason Australian’s are so tall is that they are holding onto the planet by their feet 🤣🤣
Jaysus you did a good impersonation of Murray with that American Dream bit. Think he might have some competition here lol. Great vid's Great Guys.
Regarding not talking to each other I think he's really talking about people from the south of England,I live in the north east of England and talk to every single person I meet (whether they want to or not)
wheel of fortune Round 1 Part 27 :D
yep Al delivered every time, great reaction vid
Some of the best reaction vids on the internet
We used to send 'criminals' to Australia when Ireland was still part of the UK. That's probably where your confusion comes from. There's a fastastic play by Timberlake Wertenbaker called Our Country's Good, based on the first transportation to Australia, which gives a great idea of how it got started.
Just to pee you guys off, I've booked to see him live locally in Warrington in November...
great vid lads
And Al Murray is a British legend no question 😄
The show was called 'Time, Gentlemen please.' It is worth a watch 🤣
Al Murray used to have a chatshow called "Al Murray's Happy Hour", there were 29 episodes. It was absolutely hilarious. I doubt it's on any streaming services these days though, although there would be a few clips on CZcams they will be in 2007 era quality. You could probably find the DVD releases on eBay, i'm sure some sellers would send them to the US.
Time Gentlemen Please was his sitcom as him as the pub landlord!
The reason us English are small is that we were bred to go up chimneys while singing Chim Chim Cher-ee
If that's true why aren't all homosexuals small?
Time gentleman please was a sitcom that Al Murray done as the pub landlord in his own pub
Good news boy's!. He's starting a new tour soon with an all new show for all to enjoy. X
I would love it if it was possible to watch al Murray documentaries on CZcams. It shows how lovely al Murray is showing his intelligence out of character.
You can watch his full stand up shows on CZcams. I’ve done it.
recommendation - try watching would i lie to you 'wilty', clips and full eps here on youtube.
ADD This to your list.. you have to watch the series " Still game " you will cry laughing, start with season 1 episode 1 be sure to watch past the credits if you watch an episode or 2 as they always have a small extention to the story at the very end thats blisteringly good
Omg I love still game
Thats plenty....
Hiya. Good job teacher Carl didn't let on to Al that they mainly teach American-English in Japan! Stay safe. All the best to you.
The pub landlord has a new tour in 2022... planning to go see him live. :-}
you haven't watched "Time Gentlemen Please" which is his sitcom, set in his pub. there is also "Al Murray's Happy Hour", which is his celebrity chat show. the" Al Murray's Multiple Personality Disorder" which is a sketch show, where he plays lots of different characters.
Fellas, I know you love the 90s ..... but if you get the chance, check out The Old Grey Whistle Test ( a 70s weekly music programme) performances from Elton John doing Tiny Dancer..... just him and his piano! Then there's ( and you'll thank me for this!) Humble Pie doing Black Coffee! Steve Marriot was our greatest ever blue eyed soul singer! Boys ........ have I ever let you down?!
the weather is true...but if anyone sits and says we have bad food and actually mean it, they should really find themselves the nearest mental health place, find a nice padded cell and spend some time in there... we have a vast cuisine from Indian to Chinese, Nepalese, etc... even british food is not even bad, most of which americans will eat during thanksgiving and christmas, which americans seem to forget... in fact a majority of the food americans eat, with the obvious exception of things like mexican food or food orginated from the africans, like gritz, collard greens, etc... are british in origin... "as american as apple pie" first recipe for apple pie, english
Love you guys😅
Al Murray explains the Euro crisis, is well worth watching - comedy gold!
I don't think you've covered any of his Broken Britain tour? When I stayed in Houston Texas with family, I'd go for a morning walks and strangers would come up and say hello, it was unusual. Walking a dog is like an icebreaker here, people talk to other dog walkers sometimes. I get told off for talking to strangers lol
The Irish were actually British at the time and transportation to Australia was imposed on all convicts throughout the country, not just Ireland. In fact we used to transport to the American colonies prior to your revolution. As regards height, the average Australian and American male height is 5 foot 9 inches. The average height in the UK is 5 foot 10 inches.
If you have not, you need to watch Al Murray - Secretary video. It is really hilarious.
It's Time Gentlemen Please and yes you really need to review that show!
You've seen a lot of his stuff on CZcams. He's been doing the pub landlord since the 90s.
I fucking love you guys man, it would be an honour to have a beer or two with you guys. ❤👍👍
Upside down house with goat in it is Chinese for "Sleepless in Seattle."👍
THANK ME LATER...NOONE SEEMS TO KOW ABOUT THIS ONE AND IT'S ONE OF HIS FUNNIEST. AL MURRAY EDINBURGH AND BEYOND
It was the Scottish (after the Jacobite uprisings) that were transported to Australia
Al Murray had a talk show called 'Al Murray's Happy Hour' which you might also like.
All good on the Aussie front Spencer 👍🏻😉🇦🇺
I thought it was awesome that you remembered Neil 🤣🤣
I don't know why Americans think we're short, I'm 6.1, my father was 6.2 and my son is 6.4 . Also English is the language of the sea and air so no matter what country you are from, when you are on a plane or boat you will here instructions in English as well as your own country
Hi Guys, loving the Content. You might like to try Rich Halls' Tom Cruise Routine. It's very clever and very funny.
Rich Hall is an American Comedian with a dry wit, who also plays the Guitar.
He has made a few 1hr Documentaries about the USA and its History for the BBC. They are Funny and informative.
Peace form the UK x
The Geordie Whale Song killed me. Al Murray is the fucking nuts.
The food in Britain is actually fantastic. The South East is rather diverse and as such has food influences from around the world. The Brits also have very good meat, especially when compared to most of the rest of Europe.
The weather is pretty average, just like most of Northern Europe.
There are currently over 3 thousand traditional Chinese Hanji characters in common use. Just think how difficult it is to type them with a traditional western keyboard.
Look Al Murray up on Wickepedia he descends from English Aristocracy went to Oxford very clever man.
Up north we talk fast and to anyone
"Time Gentleman Please" and all the full episodes are on his CZcams. It's a big stupid but it does make me laugh. It's innnstinct.....
You should watch his TED talk on running for parliament it's very funny and informative
The British sent criminals to Australia, that's why the welcome back joke came from ..hope that helps 🤣🤣
You saying that English is a universal language. As far as I'm aware it's the language that ALL airline pilots have to know
Fantastic ❤
Al Murray's Pub Landlord was in a sitcom called Time Gentleman, please
Have a look at Secretary by Al Murray The Pub Landlord. Don't think you've reacted to this video yet.
A Chinese ex of mine learned passable English in 6 months I was so impressed , they are indeed a super smart people
And English is an easy language to learn. She was probably relieved to not have to think in Chinese anymore.
Our foods tasty especially concoctions, like 4am this morning I had my tea, the concoction I made was delicious, dairylea triangles with noodles and Thai salt and pepper sauce, absolutely tasty don't mock until you try it
Just recently come across your channel, really enjoy watching you guys. Keep up the good work. Would love to send you a food parcel, do you guys have a mailing address for subscribers to send parcels to?
My bad, just noticed you do in fact have an address. Great.
Thanks Martin, glad to have you here!
al murray did a ted talk about why he stood to be an mp in britian and thats worth a watch
He had a tv show calls "Time gentlemen please"
Australians are taller because they live upside down at the base of the planet, Gravity fact!
the weather is crap but the food is brilliant
Australians grow in the same direction as gravity
What you probably don't realise is that most spell check software uses the American dictionary which is a major annoyance to English people who know the correct spelling. Even typing this I had to take out the Z from realise.
Any time where you have to pick you language and the only option is "English - US" you know you are in for a bad time.
because it's soooooooo hard to change.
@@DaveByrdUK quite often you cannot change it.
The average UK male is now 1 inch taller than the average USA male according to Wikipedia
Mandarin (Chinese) has a similar structural form in where they place words to English. You know how in French and Spanish rather than say a Blue Cup, they turn it around "Cup blue" that kind of thing. In that regard Mandarin and English are actually similar , and without any tonal stuff like in Asian languages, non of the Masculine and Feminine in Latin based languages (French Spanish Italian Portuguese) so they just have to learn the English equivalent words, and worry less about grammar. Of course the rest is very different but there is so much English speaking TV and Cinema out of the UK and in particular the USA, many Chinese folk have a lot of exposure to English. It does not surprise me Chinese people tend to pick up English fast
it was "Time Gentlemen Please!" - he was never confused
Think you need to visit the U.K….. it’s beautiful…👍
The Tracy Joke: In British English the term "Common" is also slang for someone who uses foul language, is easy to sleep with, disheveled and typically they live in state-funded accommodation... Basically what an American calls "Trailer Trash".
The weather isn’t that bad.🤣
It just very unpredictable.
In the south east, where I live, we hit highs of 36-37 degrees in high summer.
I have to say though that I’ve sat in the garden sunbathing in March and a month later we’ve had heavy snow.
We also don’t have tropical storms, earthquakes or large tornadoes.
It’s just that it’s so unpredictable that we talk about it a lot.
Here you can get four seasons in one day.
Better tell them your talking about Celsius not Fahrenheit.
Great channel chaps! Has anyone suggested Lee Evans to you? In for a treat.😂
English has, by far, the largest vocabulary of any language. About 250,000. French, by comparison (for random example, unlike Al, I don't mind the French) has about 50,000. English is the language to master if you're serious about writing, prose, poetry or lyrics. No other language has the scope.
Chinese has many many more words/characters than English
@@chitster No it doesnt. English has the largest vocabulary of any language, with more than double the words of Mandarin. No Chinese language is even in the top 5, with Korean, Arabic, German and Finnish all larger than them.
last i saw english has over 1.5million words to french's 100k or so.
chinese (and most other languages) have more characters in their alphabet but in terms of raw vocabulary, english tends to top the list with room to spare
@wim caubergs I couldn’t see anything racist, or even mildly insulting in what you said…some people go out of their way to be offended nowadays…
@wim caubergs basically no point learning another language to many English speaking countries as English is the living international language that adapts with all languages ...but I do see your point with countries on the continent as there so much more intertwined ....also English is easier to learn , due to the movie/music scene being primarily in English with all the best sellers
I drive a London taxi so have pick up al murry a though times his exactly the same off stage and good tipper
