Dan the surgeon. "Oh my god, I cut off the wrong blooming feet!!" "That's ok, we'll glue them back on."
Lol, there is always a solution, mostly glue related. 🤣
@@watchmewithwatches How's the hydromod watch doing?
@@Shri_V it's amazing, lost a minute in a month and no leakages. Very impressed tbh
Lol!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol.
Quedo súper táctico y de noche se ve como si fuera de la película Tron genial!!!
One thing to consider is that most of these, if not all, 6105 homage cases use a true 4:00 crown case. Most mod dials will only come with feet for crown at 3 and crown at 3.8 (i.e. for SKX, mm300, turtle, etc.). Not sure if any of those pairs of feet were made for a true crown at 4, but you were probably better off chopping them all off anyway. I've seen dials that will come with 3 pairs of feet instead of 2, and usually those will have the appropriate feet for a true crown at 4 case. I imagine the dial would have looked very crooked if one tried to attach it with the 3.8 crown feet.
I had the same problem with an alternative dial on a steeldive 6105. Don't beat yourself up Dan, that dial was never going to line up with its own pins.
based on inspiration from your vids I have entered the world of modding, except instead of learning to crawl-->walk-->run I got impatient after crawl (dial/hands swap) and went straight to sprinting and I'm building watches from scratch, and loving it! so thank you again....but this vid reminds me that I suspect I'm about to have a dial dot situation, I'll find out when the parts arrive....aahh the convenience of dial feet on the NH3x movement, such a breeze. Cheers!
Thats amazing to hear! Well done for giving it a go mate. It's great fun isn't it!
@@watchmewithwatches great fun, and one could argue addictive, its made our latest lockdown bearable anyway
@@locobenno9435 well thats nice to hear I've helped in some tiny way. You take care and remember it's not forever.
Love your mod, great video especially with the dial feet drama 😱😂, but everything worked out in the end… 👍…. the only thing is that I bought this watch because I loved the look of the original Seiko 6105, the only thing I changed was the subpar clasp which came on the bracelet. Apart from that I would not change anything else on this amazing watch, but hey….that’s me.
Have a great day ! and keep them coming.
I allways wanted to know how watches were moded. Thanks for this good tutorial.
You're welcome, I've done lots if you want to check my playlist out.
Very cool Tron-esque watch :P Also a huge thank you for your mod videos, today I successfully (well, I still have to cut the movement stem and attach it to the crown) built my first ever watch!
Keep up the great work Dan!
Fantastic mod I also enjoy the fact that you show what an actual pain in the rear that a mod can be but the results definitely make going a bit crazy well worth the time you put in I really appreciate all your videos Thanks my friend 👍
You are very welcome mate 👍
Wicked build! Love the stealth, good stuff
Thanks 😊
What an awesome mod! That’s dial 😍 And your Tempest strap really sets it off!
Always love seeing your mod videos. I remember in the earlier days of your channel your mod videos really set you apart from the pack. I’m not sure what you do for a “day job” but you’re a very natural teacher/instructor so it’s great that you share your modding experience with us 👍
Thank you! That's very kind of you to say. I feel the best part of creating videos is hopefully helping people out. Either with a watch purchase or how to do something.
Great job and mod. Brilliant choice of dial and hands.
Thanks! I'm happy how it came out in the end.
This is really helpful. Thanks. I'm looking to build my first one soon and I'll be referring back to this when I do. The end mod looks fantastic btw.
Thank you, look forward to seeing your build when you do it.
@@watchmewithwatches you're welcome and I'm not fully decided on the route I'm taking yet but I have a few ideas.
Excellent video and great build 👍 your right about the seconds hand, last time I had to do it,took me about 25mins, the air was blue and I nearly lost the will to live! 🤯😅
It'll be a while before I try it again, for the sake of my sanity at least 😉⌚
Thanks! Im so happy with the results
This is the one I've been waiting for!! Awesome Mod! I think I'm now ready to give my SteelDive Captain Willard a mod. I'll try and make sure I triple check the feet that I'm removing. It will be easier with my mod as I can use the date window in my new dial for orientation.
Thank you Heath, I look forward to hearing how your mod goes. 😀
...love this mod. From my point of view your best video so far!!! More of these please!!!
This is a Brilliant mod ! Nice work! I have the Addies Dive Willard in green/green bezel and have been wanting to mod it for some time. Thank you for some inspiration and great step by step to follow and where to procure the parts. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Have fun with your project.
My big concern would be keeping cool and patient lol...you did well , nice job
I had to cut a lot of swearing out, but I do surprise myself sometimes with not giving up! Lol
@@watchmewithwatches I was sure at one point I heard muffled "F Bomb" being uttered, thats when I PMSL.
@@davidbarbour5153 I added a subtle beep for comedy effect! My first proper swear word on the channel. I actually enjoy swearing, but only when appropriate
Interesting mod, both that cool dial and the lume combo and the result looks great. Putting the seconds hand on always seems like a royal pain in the ass.
It is! I've bought an expensive loupe to at least help me a bit in future.
Gosh if I showed you what I got for my addies dive. They are so similar. Great job even the mess up. It's exactly what happens. Thank you for being honest as always
Well done Dan ... Love the mod ..
Funniest one yet.
I need to mess them up more! 😆
Nice mod mate. It looks great 👌
Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos mate
I like the all black and white look
Thanks you! 😊
Brilliant, I love your mod series.
And you are so funny 😂
Thanks!
Great choice with the dial and hands selection.
you're getting quite good at this!
Thank you! I'm trying.
Instead of the Bergeon dial protector, just use the plastic. It does the same thing, is free, and keeps the hands from pinging off into infinity when they pop loose.
Also - if you want to keep a dial but change the color of the indices, you can just use a sharpie to make the indices any color you want. The lume still shines. Same thing with the hands. If you want a different dial/hands but want them in a different color, same deal. Just color them. You can even color the indices on the bezel insert on most inserts. I got a 20 pack of sharpies and I even blend them to make unique colors.
And - if you want the day/date wheels a different color, just make sure you buy a watch with white wheels and you can just stick a small piece of clear packing tape onto the back of the dial, over the day/date window, and then color the tape whatever color you want with a sharpie. That way, the wheels aren't permanently colored. You can also just color the wheels BUT the solvent in the sharpie will dissolve the days/dates on some wheels. I learned that the hard way.
Awesome tips man! Thanks! Love the Sharpie idea. Well worth a try.
I think that is a big improvement 👍 . You don't have to cut the wrong feet off to make your mod videos more interesting 😂
Desperate times! Lol. Or I'm very tired
Nice... Like a lot.. great video, enjoyed as always... Well done..
Great job Dan. The watch looks great!
I absolutely love your mod videos...well done Dan, brilliant end result my friend.
Thank you Felo! It all worked out nicely in the end. Take care mate 👍
awesome work
great video, the mod looks really nice, good job!
Thank you 😊
Glad you like it...rather have the real thing.
Thanks for that Dan, another brilliant mod done and dusted, I really do find these mods so interesting, one day I'll give it a go in the mean time here's to your next mod, cheers...stay safe
Thanks John, glad you enjoyed it!
Love your vids as always man! Just a heads up that I just bought a Steeldive 1970 on Ali and it was £40… yep. NH35 With sapphire crystal. I’ll probably get bitten over this but I just thought it was a great deal!
It looks great. 👍
Thanks Nigel 😊
Cool mod, great job! 👏 Love this style of indices.
Looks awesome!!
Thanks!
I guess they were out of the NH35.
I always enjoy watching your mod videos. When you were cutting the legs off I was thinking "cut the right one off this time" I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh when you did it again. Thanks👍👍😁
Lol, it's always added entertainment when I fudge it up
That looks f#*kin amazing Dan🤤👍 I'm not gonna do anything to my steeldive Willard but I may buy a addiesdive and try it out, very nice😃👌
Thanks! Go on, give it a go!
@@watchmewithwatches 😅👍
Excellent stuff, just ordered the Addiesdive, if it's a hidden NH36 will try the day/date mod dial...very slowly 👍
Looks sweet nicely done👍🏻
Looks great Dan nice job👍🏻
Superb video well done! Looks amazing. Hope to see that on ebay soon haha 😄
I Love your vídeos
Thats so nice to hear, I really appreciate you watching them! 👀
Oh boy awesome stealth mod
Thank you! Im very happy with the result. Glad you liked it
It's the date window, everyday struggles I'm not only one
Nice one 😊
Nice. I would pull the trigger on that piece.
Keep an eye on the store. It may pop up....
fantastic!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love it! Well done!
Thank you 😊
Nicely done, Dan! I used the exact same stealth dial but used the skeletonized version of your hands, both with C3. Black pvd case with fixed bezel, and even the same strap with black hardware. Great minds, you know 😉. Now that I’ve seen yours, I’m starting to wonder about transferring over to a fully lumed rotating bezel. Hmm . . . 🤔
Would love to see yours! If you still have it, dm me on Instagram if possible?
@@watchmewithwatches Of course I still have it . . . who else would want my builds 😉? I don’t have an Instagram account, so I’ll have to use my wife’s and ask her how to DM. I swear I’m not that old, just not into social media 😁. I warn you, it’ll just be pics of a watch on a table, a far cry from your fancy watch pics. Anyway, super job on your stealth mod. I always look forward to your mod content for tips, tricks, ideas, and of course, enjoyment.
Nice couple of upgrades, very nice....a joiner with a wonky bench, that's a little suspect....🏴🤣🏴🤣
LOL a bit like a plumber with a leaky tap, as for the wonky bench my old man used a folded woodbine packet, job done.
Lol, it's a mini fold up desk squeezed in my room, it's on super thick carpet, so doesn't bode well for stability!
@@watchmewithwatches So it's not the joiners fault just blame the Mrs. for buying super thick carpet
@@John-P lol, yes, it's always her fault 🤣
@@watchmewithwatches if in doubt blame the enemy, absolutely....😂🤣😂🤣
Brilliant. You should do a director's cut. Showing the working I real time. You would have to be a right saddo to watch it though. I'd sit through it
Thanks for this! I wanted to do a similar mod with the same watch, but was afraid to pry out the movement from the plastic holder. I thought maybe it was one of those watches where the movement went in through the front of the case. In most watches, it seems like the movement is not snapped into place like it appears to be with this one.
Glad I could help!
It looks fantastic but 49 for dial only is a bite much for me.
Love your video, why you didn’t used the the date complication?
Hi, I was aiming to simplify the look of the watch in subtle ways. Symmetry and less clutter. Hence the subtle "stealthing"
Great video, was really helpful. Can a SKX007 bezel insert fit this watch? Thanks
Great video. I just purchased this watch and the etched case back scratches at my wrist. I am hoping to swap it out for a clear back.
Do you know any specific clear sapphire crystal backs that will fit this?
I am new to watches and moding...
Great video 👍 you have inspired me to mod my steeldive. Out of interest do you know if you can remove the dial insert to swap a different colour insert?
could you do this for my willard cheers David I'm in the uk
Wait a freakin' minute! An NH36!?!?!? I just received the Addiesdive twin, Steeldive 1970, and just assumed they were all driven by NH35 movements. What's goin' on here?
I know! They must have run out of nh35 and slapped this in! Lol
Nice mod!
Are you sure the dial feet were your fault? I considered modding my Heimdallr but thought the crown position being different from the usual Seiko 3:45 might cause alignment issues.
I think you may be right. At least the dial size I got right, and the dial dots are always a good backup plan!
How do you re-lube the gasket? What lube do you use?
I'm always removing the wrong feet, does make you feel like a total moron. That stealth dial looks way better than on their site, so that solves a dial choice issue for me. Looks great!
Thank you, all their products I've bought so far are premium quality. 👌
Very informative video. However, the link to: "For detailed modification guides" is not working. Just a FYI for you.
Thanks, I've sorted that out 👍
I hereby deem this the "SteelFoot" 👋🥴
Lol!
Yeah but i liked before it was tore apart .NOOOOOOO put it back .
