Brings the watch to life.
Itâs funny how things work out. After checking out numerous videos the only thing that put me off getting one was the two-tone lume. However, given the price I figured âwhat the heck?â. Once I got the watch and saw the lume in real life, I REALLY liked it! It was nowhere near as âbusyâ as I expected it to be, and really complimented the style. Ended buying another one in green. My long-lived Seiko is now relegated to the watch-box!

I got one on a waffle strap and bought a super engineer bracelet as well, it's pretty heavy but looks nice. This Watch is a real solid option on the cheap.

How good is the bezel action on yours?
@@rmartin6914 it's solid, only thing on mine is a crooked date window frame, I've seen a couple similar cases of that on reddit, you can't have everything, most of them are normal tho.

I have this watch , black dial black bezel and I must say it's my favorite goto watch. I don't worry about it because of the price and don't worry about the movement.
You can put any strap on it and it looks good. I have been thinking of getting the other watch colors before the end of the year. Just to have fun.
The lume i find is really good. Just as good as my san Martin's and heimdallrs really. I can see all night.

Great to hear it. They are great watches. People don't talk about the Tuna homage as much as the Willard, but they really should.
I bought one of these a few months back as a beater watch. But I was quite impressed once I got it. Really great value for money. And that Captain W look just works so well it's just a nice watch to wear in general.

I happen to be wearing my SD1970, that just came a couple of weeks ago. I picked it up during the AliExpress Summer Sale, for less than $80 USD, all in (w/shipping and taxes). Unlike yours, mine is the blue version, and it is stunning. The blue dial has a sunburst effect, and perfectly color matches the blue ceramic bezel. I haven't been able to find any cosmetic or functional flaws, and even the pressed clasp is not that bad.
The watch case it came in looks just like the ones San Martin uses, and this watch really makes me wonder if it's worth spending double or triple the price I paid, just to get a PT5000 movement, instead of an NH35A. In addition to the extra money, I wonder if I'd also be trading reliability for beat rate?
Similarly, Seiko's 6105 reissue (SPB151) costs over ten times more ($1300), but is slightly smaller and includes the 70 hour, 6R35. Seiko has documented QC issues, that Steeldive seems to have avoided, even at its greatly reduced price.

Just got mine a few days ago and will get around to review it in the next couple of weeks. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. The bezel on mine doesn't align nicely like yours though.

However the height of this watch and with it being a diver may be a holiday watch on rubber band! is the band decent? Steeldive sounds so much better than Addiesdive too, I think theyre the same maker. I have a cheap Addiesdive sub homage for about ÂŁ35 and it's superb for the price and quartz
Nice review mate. I have this watch for quite some time now, bought it from Gary @ILW. Some upgrades have been done, such as the end links. The ones on mine are so badly finished they could serve a cucumber slicers, which is why I wear the watch on a waffle rubber strap. And the hands on mine have green lume on them and it doesn't last particularly long. Cheers! đ

I actually fought this watch for a long time trying different straps, the watch head is just so heavy that it's IMHO practically only wearable on the bracelet cause it balances it out.

I have had 3 of these. Love them...changed each time they did an update on it. I now have the black with the black date wheel. Too bad they have the signed clasp, it is a shame we have to remove it. I swapped mine as well.
I don't know why they don't just make them milled clasps. It would barely increase the price, but makes a big difference.
Iâve already got this watch but in black, but mine only came with that rubber strap with the giant holes in which came off straight away!! Iâm gonna have to buy it again on the bracelet after seeing this, looks so much better. For the price itâs very hard to beat. great review!
Yeah the value for money is outstanding.
I got delivery of my black dial with black date wheel version last Friday and it hasnât been off my wrist since. I own Seiko turtles, samurais, tunas and monsters but refuse to pay Seikoâs ransom for the Willard reissue when for 7% of the Seiko cost I have a quality watch on my wrist that has the same movement, specs, look, and feel, and to top it off better QC than some of my other genuine Seikoâs. Poor QC on an affordable Seiko can be begrudgingly accepted, but for me that doesnât translate to higher priced pieces like the Willard reissue.
Iâll still buy Seiko, I have my eye on the monster STO Antartica and black series Tuna, but I feel like theyâre taking the piss with the Willard reissue.
So yes, Iâm more than happy to sport the SD6105 on my wrist.
Seiko have gotten to greedy and complacent. When homages have the same specs or even sometimes better. Plus better QC you know somethings not right.
I got my sd1970 about 3 weeks ago it came on a decent waffle strap, ÂŁ66 delivered, I find this getting a lot of wrist time, pretty amazing value considering the price of a turtle đą đđ

Outstanding watch. Best lume of any watch I own, yes its better than my real original Monsters. No complaints at all with my sterile version from SD. Thanks for the link for the clasp, that will improve it a wee bit.
That is high praise indeed. The clasp just helps finish it off I think.
I have one with a green dial and bezel on green rubber strap (now on ss melanese strap) and it's awesome! The only downside I can think of is that those crownguards are too chonky, sometimes they interfere with the crown operation
I already have another watch with the same case design, so I'm use to that. There's a knack to it though.

@@stevenstanley9979 Yeah Seiko really need to up their game. I have plenty of Seiko homages, but no actual Seiko's. That's says it all really.
Mine just arrived. It looks like the clasp is milled now and has 6 micro adjustments.
That's good. I heard that they recently updated them.

I recommend to check the lug pins as they are not that sturdy
Bought Jan. 2021, no logo version, it's been superb. Love both the steel band and the waffle that also came with it. Great buy. Maybe my Seiko 5 lasts longer when not being worn than this, similar movements. Went swimming in Lake Erie with this on, no problem.
I think these should hold up pretty well m the build quality is arguably better than some Seiko's and it has a Seiko movement in it which is known to be rock solid.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR The movement on my Seiko 5 Sport seems to run longer when off the wrist than the Steeldive but not by much. I guess the NH35 is basically the same as the 4R36 on my Seiko but the second is used on Seiko only?
Yeah that's the only difference I think. They're practically identical movements otherwise.
Perhaps you might be able to swap the "outer" shell of the milled clasp for the signed one. They look quite similar.
I did think that after doing the review. I'll have to have a look.

Mate, I don't really get the buzz about buying a copy watch. I do understand where your coming from dollar wise , yes they're exceptionally cheap. I used Seiko for actual scuba when I was in my teens and twenties and recently bought the reissued 68/MM Diver but with the smaller 200m case (SPD207J). The reason ISO rating is on these Seikos is because of the engineering one can't see. Bezels with twin brass fasteners, two O Rings on the Crown etc. In the 90s I returned a Seiko Diver to the AD due to salt water intrusion, Seiko concluded the Crown seal in fact was broken when fitted and exchanged the watch with a new one with an extra rubber strap to boot, although I did pay for express postage, still great service at that time . To all the guys & girls out their who love the Ocean and its life within think what a watch company does for our environment also where you watch is made and under the workers conditions. It takes a while longer to save up(as I had to) for the genuine article but it's a sweeter feeling when you'll buckle up. Love life, always a smile with a SEIKO on your dial. Hooroo from Brisbane Australia. ;)

I do still buy quite a few of mine. But the larger the channel gets, the more free watches I get offered. But either way, I'm going to keep it 100% honest, no matter what.

Bought one over a year ago the watch is brilliant the strap was absolute crap .Bought a vintage oyster style bracelet. Love the watch .An now it feels right. I very much doubt San Martin are better .But they need to up their game with there straps as there price point is rising.
I don't think the bracelet is that bad, once you swap out the clasp.
by the way, did you guys know you can test the glass with ur foreheads? grab a sapphire glass and a mineral glass watch (not the ones ur wearing cause they will be warm) and touch the glass with ur forehead. if it is cold it will be mineral glass. if it is ice cold it will be sapphire glass. could you do it ?
I saw the video on long Island last week. In my case I'm unable to tell the difference.
@@suikakujun maybe i've got two of the same materials. I could feel clearly. Sapphire glass feels like ice.
In some reviews, it looks as if the sunburst on the blue version is more reflective and 'pops' more than the green one. Can someone who's seen both watches confirm this please? I do love me a shiny watch...đ
Both have a sunburst effect but the blue is more pronounced!

Great review. I bought the blue sterile dial version. Upgraded the clasp, added a Seiko dial. I will therefore not be buying Seiko's ÂŁ1K overpriced re-issue..

I bought one from the same source and while I was duly impressed by the quality for the price, my example came with unmatching lume on the hands compared to the markers, was scratched between the lugs on one side, and kept horrible time at something close do + 30s a day.

Is the AR coating on the outside of the crystal? Mine has two large scratches on the crystal and I hoping it is the AR that scratched. If not it would mean it is not sapphire.
It should definitely be sapphire crystal. I test mine in the review to show this. I'd suggest contacting the seller if you think it isn't.

I'd say that the tuna probably edges, due to the bracelet. But they are both great.

I don't mention the price for AliExpress watches, because they fluctuate so much. I just include the link in the description instead.
I was at lost between Heimdallr or Steeldive. Steeldive has fully lumed bezel and signed crown, two things Heimdallr do not for 30 dollars more. I still ended up buying Heimdallr due to of how stupid Steeldive logo is. Cant imagine looking at my wrist with that logo.
I actually don't mind the Steeldive logo myself. But I agree the Heimdallr one is better.
Sounds to me the watch is perfect with 7 inches wrist or more. Under, it would look oversized.
The lug to lug is pretty compact, so unless you have a really small wrist you should be ok.
The price

Yes well changing the bracelet is far from easy though....only drawback to me...
Ill buy one when steeldive changes that horrible logo.its the worst out of all the chinese brands đ€ź. Also a turtle on a metal band is a no go for me dog đ ââïž. I like mine on waffles or natos
You can get it without the logo (sterile) if you want.
