      I understand wanting to show the beautiful dial, but there is no minute track, so adding a chapter ring with a minute track makes the watch easier to read. I modified a Seiko SRP775 last year and added a chapter ring without a minute track, and now I no longer like it. The minute track makes a big difference.

    @grassrootscafe5497 Před rokem

    For many people, the turtle re-issue is amazing but just a little too big, just a little. The king turtle that is. It is 45mm and the dial and chapter ring is also big some compared with the classic SKX007. The SKX007, with a slim 42mm cushion case, has a generous but basically perfect dial and bezel size. So, when one wants to step up in size from the SKX007, the obvious step is to the king turtle, and if that feels too big on the wrist, then one searches through the tortoise and mini-turtles and finally discovers the absolutely fantastic Captain Willard 6105 and it is $1,600. But, the Captain Willard of the Steeldive (and Addisdive and others) this is an amazing $120 and it feels solid like the king turtle might have felt, and it is in fact a turtle, but a much earlier version of the turtle, and it is 43.8mm or basically 44mm. But the bezel and dial are kept in check as to size, and the cushion case, as on the turtle, makes it “wear smaller” like a 42mm when you bend your wrist. I have other 44mm watches, and they are at the upper limit of the size I consider right for even my big wrist. The design of the SD1970 or 6501 with a 4.1 oclock crown rather than the Seiko 3.8 oclock crown, is remarkable in how it feels on the wrist. Is there a crystal gasket? I have heard rumor of it being glued in.
    Where I find critique is what comes next as one wants to use the day/date full range of the NH36 in the circle of squares and rectangles flow of the dial. It appears to me that a well-chosen 62MAS dial would draw-down the presence of the window in the flow of the circle, and then maybe the day disk could go black and lumed to allow just the date to be a white square to complete the flow of the circle of squares and rectangles. It may maintain the balance and flow.
    So, dial feet come off and don’t mess with the bezel. I have heard of people cracking the ceramic bezel in the crystal removal if not careful. I winder if I could get under the bezel insert through the case once the crystal is out. Maybe the Mark at Island watches idea of using a safe solvent is the trick. If anyone has perfected the Willard with 62Mas dial, I would love to see if it looks wrong. It will take away the 70’s style, but it may add clarity to the busy dial. Maybe. It is already a work of art.

As for me, having 300+ watches, individual watch will stop eventually as I cant regularly rotate them. I still need to wind and adjust my choice of watch on different day before I wear.
