"I have to kill the plants to learn how to keep them alive." I related to that on a deep level.

Thanks for the review but how do you clean the tank inside?

Did you notice any pooling of water on your floor or carpet at the base of the unit or around the radius of the spray? I’ve read that this can be an issue for ultrasonic humidifiers.

To be fair, cardboard is better for the environment than most other packing materials even if it can't be recycled. Styrofoam takes about 500 years to decompose v. cardboards 3 months. Been hoping to get a job making biological Styrofoam, sorry for the geekout. Amazon's air packets try to avoid this by minimizing the plastic component, but there are no perfect solutions.
Not to be lost in my comment is my appreciation for your content, been on the fence about what to get. Really appreciate it! I liked how much time you gave it, and that you assembled it on camera. Very helpful!

OMG! I am so with you on the boxes! Packaging is crazy in general. So overboard! Love this video and would enjoy more review videos too. I have been running a humidifier every winter for the past 25 years, simply because it’s so so freakin dry! I’ve always had the standard 2-3 houseplants, but my love and needs for them grew exponentially this past year. So this spring I decided to try my hand at tropical plants. I really really want them to prosper, and read about using a humidifier for them. So I plugged it back in....gotta say, they like it! A few of my others like it too! But my humidifier is kinda sucky for this. So questions: I noticed the box said it was a cool/warm mist...which option do you use? And why? Will you use it through the summer? How did you determine what level of humidity you wanted it to be at? Also, does it use filters? I can go through a filter every 2 weeks, at $15 a pop, with mine, it can get expensive. Lastly, about the water. If you use boiled water would that be comparable to distilled? Or at least better than just tap water? Thanks for your time 😊. Always look forward to your videos. 👍🏻🌱

leah walker hey! Great questions! I used the cool mist, I read it somewhere to use the cool mist... don’t know where though 🤷‍♀️ I am probably going to shut it off in the summer mainly because I am thinking of moving some of these plants outside by our pool, but I haven’t decided yet. I chose 50% because the humidifier said my house was already at 45% 😂 but in the instructions they recommend setting between 40-60%. I have a filter that I could use but it doesn’t require one, and for the most part, if you use good water then you shouldn’t need the filter. Boiling your water is going to be much better than tap for sure. I think the filtered stuff is probably better but boiling it is better than just straight from the tap, at least it should kill any bacteria.

Angel's Grove Gardening thank you so much! You are a fountain of knowledge! 😁. I really think I’m going to get the one you got, in comparison to others, I think this one rocks! So if the humidity, in the summer, is at say, 60%, you wouldn’t run it? I want to put some outside as well, but a couple need to stay indoors. Have you seen any Begonia Maculata? Check them out! I think you would love it...very unique. And Alocasia Zebrina Tiger, you’d like that one too, I’m sure. Both love humidity. I am also using a pebble tray for humidity. So far so good 🤞🏻.

@@leahwalker9868 Ya, the humidity here tends to pick up a little in the summer and my tropical plants will be outdoors next to a pool so they should be pretty happy out there, but yes, I don't think I would run the humidifier if it was that high already. I had to google those varieties.. yes OMG I love them. I will have to keep my eyes peeled.

Angel's Grove Gardening I am absolutely in love with mine (the ones I mentioned). I wish we could post pics 😊. I’m going to have to keep an eye on the humidity levels outside this summer. But I’m definitely upgrading from my bedroom humidifier, lol! I’m 100% yours are going to do great, inside or outside!

I did get a similar humidifier this winter called Levot. Looks the same and I really like it for the tropicals. I am wondering if it is beneficial for my cacti/succulents, or if it is harmful to them. I have lost a few cacti in the winter, the past couple years. I do not water them much like maybe every couple months, but all of a sudden they look different to me and I look closer and they are complete mush on the inside. Any ideas. Thanks so much. Take care.

Hmm it does sound like they rotted. Cacti and succulents love dry dry dry climates. My humidifier is in my living room with my tropical plants and almost all of my succulents and cacti are in a different room. However, If it was the humidity, I am surprised they rotted from the air because I know succulents also do well in Florida where it is super humid. Hmm. Maybe try to move them further away from the humidifier but also check that you have drainage holes and good draining soil. Don’t water until leaves are wrinkly. Hope that helps, good luck!
