A clarification is requested from those in the know.
An Army Chief is already a 5 Star General, as I heard somewhere.
    The upgradation to the
F Marshal rank is not required to be elevated to
    a 5 Star General.
The FM receives his baton alongwith his rank.
All GOC in C of the 7 or 8 commands of Indian Army are 4 Star Generals, though addressed as Lt Generals .
    Corrections invited pls.
    from those who know
    from proper sources
and NOT based on knowledge acquired from WA / FB like University.

I have two questions since I am not familiar with army traditions and rule.
    1. Why is it that Field Marshall's uniform is of lighter shade ?
    2. I have seen his picture while he was the chief and visiting the POW in Bangladesh wearing a light blue coloured shirt. What's the reason behind that uniform?
