- It takes something special to thrash Fiji at rugby sevens, and Argentina did just that. In the Twickenham Stadium sunshine, Los Pumas ran in six tries to blow away the Men's Olympic gold medallists.

Argentina has had the mental edge over Fiji this season. Fijis mental toughness has gone out the window they look like a team of worriers and panickers and just can't put it together against the likes of Argentina & NZ who have been dominant all season.
The new players recruited by Gollins to replace rasaku and Masi are no way half as good. NZ’s young guns are the real deal now, unless Gollins can turn his blind eye towards our under 20s and Warriors programs maybe it will save him from embarrassment later and speech of excuses

NZ and Argentina also had their moments where they were not performing well. Yes, Fiji has really gotten worse this season but are they actually Worse????. I mean, this current Fiji Team still managed to be in the Top 4 standings. This same Team out of the previous Teams, have been playing with the worst salary a rugby player has to be receiving.
Secondly, this new Training Coach have not trained them in the Sigatoka Sand Dunes which is mandatory for every local Teams here in Fiji. And Yet they managed to book a spot for the next Olympic.
Here In Fiji, every Local 7s Competition that the National Fiji team competes in, always Win and with huge margins but this Season National Fiji 7s Team lost to 2 local clubs here in Fiji. IMO, with the right Trainer, Fiji Team will run through NZ and Argentina just like they used to.

To add more merit to Pumas, they only play with native players and coaches. Not many teams can say that.
Who would want to become Argentinian? It's not any merit, just a circumstance.
Modern 7s is structured and played on execution and forcing errors.. Fiji is the only team that plays offloads and support play and its falling a bit short.. they need to adopt structure and use their offloads and hot stepping when gaps appear... structure is king in 7s now. But Fiji can turn on the magic when it comes to world cup or Olympics.. they are not that hungry when it comes to series.

Fiji was actually bullying nz whole of last year, until our top players like rasaku, Masi, and Elia left for 15s. Nz regrouped with some lethal young talents, for Fiji though, those that Gollings brought in to feel the shoes for those left has been underperforming no way half as good.🤦♂
