If he watches true sight, he should definitely watch the one from 2019, there's w33ha (old) meepo, monkey mid, templar mid, and most things he would care about in it, maybe chat could tell him to check out what each played hero does before watching the finals. theres probably just like 5 or 6 heroes he doesnt know, maybe shrines too, I dont remember if those were a thing in 2019, or rosh being in mid isnt that big of a deal

Treads switching on high apm heroes is really taxing. Switching int when casting spells then back to your main attribute. str for hp then switch to agi when regenerating. That's on top of your apm demanding hero.
For heroes like meepo its really only nessecary earlygame, when you only have 2-3 meepos. Once you get used to it it just becomes habit to click boots twice before W.
My advices are learning the phases of the game, your role and whos gonna be carry (1or2, whos gonna get most of the gold/xp), Heroes strengths and weaknesses and the mute button. I really miss playing but my pc doesnt allow it now im getting dc and when i recon its just black.
it does kinda suck having rng in the game, but that is another thing that brings more strategic depth to dota imo. current league is basically every 5mins action for drake and baron, and it’s honestly boring as fuck and not much strategy compared to dota
i would say he is probably on silver-bronze lvl now compared to league, but he has insanely good ability to learn and he has quite good intelligence (a lot of players in dota has no such thing at all, even some of pro players). Im now rank 30 in dota and i can tell that he definetly knows how to become better, so with enough effort he can reach diamond or even master level in dota pretty quickly.
@user-ns5jq7zm3p well ye obviously he would understand what it takes for him to get better since he is o e of the best league players, and both league and dota are pretty straight forward in that regard, you just need to be aware of these things i. the first place. for example go into a bronze or a silver lobby in league and ask them what prio or pressure means, they wont even be aware of the concept, while if you asked an emerald player about both those things they will likely knkw that they are a thing but they wont know how to abuse pressure or how to play around prio, instead they will always play their gamr the same way
Meepo can be very powerful but the only key weakness the hero truly has is the lack of magic immunity from not being able to use BKB properly. We all know how important BKB is in dota. This meepo died every time the Tiny jump in on him and stun him. The minute he jump AFTER the tiny engages, he won fight easily. This is why AOE stuns/silences/CC destroy him. Axe and especially Disruptor shit on Meepo.
It's a hard game to learn. Less mechanically demanding than league (unless you're playing meepo or something similar.) But it has so many more knowledge checks and many more instant point and click abilities with large ranges that requires specific item choices to counter.
