  • Welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet this easy baby girl dress, frock or gown for 2-3 years . You can also make this dress longer by simply adding more rows to the skirt. And if you want to make it smaller or larger you can do it by simply changing your hook. See below
    Size:
    1-2yrs use 3mm hook with any #3, DK or 8ply yarn
    2-3yrs use 3.5mm hook with any #3, DK or 8ply yarn
    3-4yrs use 4.5mm hook with any #3, DK or 8ply yarn
    For this crochet baby dress tutorial for 2-3 years I used Lion Brand light #3 baby yarn. I used about 150 grams in white and about 25 grams in light blue. You may need less or more depending how long you want your dress to be. You can also use cotton thread #10 just use 2 strands.
    Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy making this crochet baby girl dress how to tutorial by crochet for baby.

    FYI- you missed the stitch count on the row where you start with the fans. There should be 2 chains remaining on the first set of 16 chains (at the end), not 1. You should have 3 DC's left at the end of the row. I'm bringing this up in case people that are not experienced in crochet think they did something wrong. I don't know if you missed a stitch or did 15 chains instead of 16.

    The instructions are good, but despite using a 3 mm hook, the neckline is wide enough to almost slip over the shoulders of my 4-year old, never mind needing a button. Oh well, I'll start again with a smaller hook, or maybe a thinner yarn (or both). It's a good practice anyway and the video makes much more sense now that I have gone through the process. It will help me also with the next project. :-)

    Hello. Many thanks for this tutorial. I have two questions about this dress:
    1. I have tried it and it's a very lovely pattern but am finding it difficult to know which side is the wrong and which is the right side, because both sides look perfect. Pls help
    2. Just curious. What difference would it make if I didn't turn and continued to work in the round while crocheting the lower part of the dress?
    Thanks.

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  Před 6 lety

      You can choose which ever side you like. I like the side where you don’t see the little bar this bean stitch makes on one side. And for your second question there is no place to make your fans on the following row since it needs to be done where the fan goes into the ch1 space. Try one row and you’ll see what I mean. Thanks for watching 😊

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  Před 5 lety +1

      No not really unless you do one more row after I finish shaping the neckline. Or make a new one. The stitch multiple is 2. If you’re looking for a smaller size here’s this same dress but smaller czcams.com/video/ptr4xNaUWZo/video.html
