Home Free are 5 of the most talented and skilled musicians in the musical arena. The beat boxer/vocal percussionist (Adam Rupp) is world class and creative, electrifying and exciting in his performances. That was all Adam doing the "no-monica". That's what the Home Fries call it when Adam plays the harmonica without an actual harmonica. Tim Foust is the super bass with a 5 octave range. The first to solo is Austin Brown, sky high tenor with a beautiful clear voice strong enough to knock drones out of the sky. The bearded solo is Rob Lundquist the lower tenor with a voice as smooth and buttery as caramel with some soul thrown in. The man in the back with the orangish colored hat is Adam Chance (referred to as Chance so as to avoid confusion with having 2 Adams) is the baritone/bass with a voice as smoky and rich as that first cup of hot coffee in the morning. He was the one doing the jaw harp sound at the beginning and throughout. This song is the one that got me hooked on Home Free and I binge watched hours of their videos becoming more and more astounded with their music with every video. Their fans are called Home Fries and we are fiercely loyal to these guys. Great reaction. The more you listen to them, I assure you, the more you will like their work. Some of my favorites from Home Free are Listen To The Music, Folsom Prison Blues, Unchained Melody, The Driver, Moonshine, Brother, End Of The Road, Blue Ain't Your Color on You Tube and Ain't Goin' Down Till The Sun Comes Up on Facebook.

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Ring Of Fire", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley" etc.

Of note...that hardly anyone else seems to capture....in the end of Ring of Fire....at first, some thought it was Avi doing that final super low note.....but a visual confirms it was Tim....and if ya pay close attention...when Tim's delivering it, Avi dons a western hat (Texan Tim style) in place of his beanie that is Avi's trademark...

You cannot go wrong with these guys, every single cover they do is an upgrade. I went to see them live a few months ago and they are just as good live as they are in the videos. Adam Rupp, their beat boxer makes all of those sounds that you think are drums or harmonicas etc. We loyal fans call ourselves "Home Fries" and as you go down this rabbit hole you will see why we are so loyal. Home Free are the best of the best when it comes to A Cappela. I would recommend, "Let the music play" "Do you hear what I hear" and Adam Rupp's drum solo czcams.com/users/results?search_query=adam+rupp+drum+solo but you can't go wrong no matter which song you decide to check out.

Home Free is labeled country, but they can and do all genres. They also sing individually and with other artists. They sing Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan who was with Pentatonix.
Home Free has a close relationship with Voiceplay. The two groups met on The Sing-Off on season four. The Sing Off was an acapella competition show. Home Free won the competition. The two groups did a video Zombies vs Hillbillies that show both groups: talents
Home Free members sing everything from country to opera. They are truly amazing. They can give you goose bumps, make you tear up, and make you laugh at their goofiness.
It's amazing that they aren't more well known. Kenny Rogers had them to record a song with him. The Oak Ridge Boys performed Elvira with them. Don McLean performed his classic American Pie with them for the song's fiftieth anniversary. They received a standing ovation when they opened for Reba MacIntyre. They have performed with Alabama.. Diana Ross is a big fan of them through You Tube. She had them perform for her seventieth birthday. And of course they have performed at The Grand Old Opry..

No, it is not a didgeridoo. It is the sound of a little metal instrument called a mouth harp that makes a twangy sound as you play it. It was inexpensive and became popular with poor folks.
Adam Chance was making the sound using a version of Mongolian Throat Singing.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
There is no lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.
Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group
I'm a Home Fry from the Netherlands.

Welcome the Home Fries world. Definitely a rabbit hole. All the comments about their talent are true. Do listen to several of their songs before you listen to Mayday. Among my faves are How Great Thou Art, Auld Lang Syne, Helplessly Hoping, The Driver, Brothers in Arms and their newest album Road Sweet Road which is mostly originals. Darren Rust, of the Blenders, is considered the 6th HF. He does a lot of their arrangements. Enjoy the ride.

First welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole.

Adam doesn’t like to sing he prefers beatboxing he thinks he doesn’t have a beautiful voice and is not trained like the others (But we all know he does) to hear his voice listen to How Great Thou Art or czcams.com/video/Sm1xhYZiSrM/video.html
They do covers and have a lot of original songs.

They are the best. Their harmonies are incredible and they always have interesting arrangements. They don't have a lead singer, but either take verses or pick the member of the group they think is best suited to a particular song. To continue your Home Free journey I would recommend Helplessly Hoping, When a Man Loves A Woman, Brothers in Arms and their version of American Pie that they performed with Don McLean. Wait for Mayday until you know the group better.

Four words for you -- End of the Road. Yes, Home Free covered Boyz II Men. They have a great catalog of originals and covers to choose from: Ring of Fire, How Great Thou Art, Mary Did You Know, When a Man Loves a Woman, Mayday, Hillbilly Bone, and many more.
Yes, Adam Rupp performed the harmonica with no harmonica. Which is why its nickname is the no-monica. The group currently is Austin Brown -- high tenor, Rob Lundquist -- tenor, Tim Foust -- bass (sub-harmonic at times), Adam Rupp -- beatboxer (2× world champion if I remember correctly), and Adam Chance -- baritone. These guys are fantastic. Enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole.

Home Free is the real deal. They won the NBC show the Sing Off in 2013 and have been going strong ever since. Adam is the beatboxer and he is crazy talented. Chance (also in the back row) was doing the mouth harp (sounds a little like a didgeridoo). Adam can do a didgeridoo. Tim is the bass (he cut his hair during Covid so in new videos he has short hair). Rob (glasses) is the tenor and has a beautiful voice. Austin (red head and lead here) is a wonderful singer. They are all talented, they all take the lead depending on the song. They sing a lot of covers but they also write and sing their own songs too. Good reaction!

Oh, sweetie, you’ve barely scratched the surface! I love watching reactors watch this video for the first time - it’s almost like seeing them for the first time all over again! This is the first song I heard from them and was immediately hooked. You are so screwed (but in a good way), as this rabbit hole is deep! And if you react to Home Free, Home Fries (their fans, like myself) will come in droves to point the way and share the journey - because, honestly, we all love to see New Fries being born. Don’t worry, though, we’re an enthusiastic but friendly bunch.🙃
The usual next songs to watch are Ring of Fire, End of the Road or Folsom Prison Blues. All are very good introductions to Home Free and well worth watching.
Let’s introduce you to our boys:
Front left is the awesome silky smoothness of lead tenor Rob “the beard” Lundquist. A few of my favorites featuring him are End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color and Bless the Broken Road.
Back left is newest member, baritone Adam Chance, called Chance due to another Adam in the group. I love him in Sea Chaney Medley, Winter Song, One Man Band, Helplessly Hoping, and Castle on the Hill. He took over when co-founding member Chris Rupp left the group in 2016 on good terms. You’ll see Chris in older videos like Ring of Fire (which also features Avi Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix). Chance is the one doing the mouth harp here.
Front center is the amazing high tenor Austin Brown. Watch When a Man Loves a Woman.
That’s all that needs to be said.
    Seriously.
Back right is founding member, beatboxer, tenor, and vocal percussionist Adam “Freak of nature” Rupp. His talent covers not only drums and the “no monica”, but extends into animal/bug noises (woodpecker and flying insects in this video) and DJ-style record scratching. He has several “drum solos” out there, but my favorite is the one where he’s wearing a red plaid shirt. He doesn’t usually sing solos, but you can hear his voice in How Great Thou Art, which is probably the most beautiful version I’ve ever heard. To highlight Adam, I recommend Ain’t Goin’ Down (only on Home Free’s FB page due to some copyright issues, but can be reacted on YT), Listen to the Music, and one of my personal favorites, Do You Hear What I Hear, which he arranged. His beatboxing is amazing in everything they do!
Last, but certainly not least, front right is basso profundo Tim Foust, apparently part dragon with a 5+ octave range. His low notes have literally blown speakers. I love him in Hillbilly Bone, In the Blood, My Church, O Holy Night, Brothers in Arms, and Mary Did You Know (and so, so many others!). He also did a collaboration with Peter Hollens (another a cappella singer) on Misty Mountains (from The Hobbit) that is amazing!
To see their funny side (and they are all hams to a certain degree), see The Butts Remix (hilarious!), Champagne Tastes (written by Tim), Cold Hard Cash (written by Austin), Full of Cheer, Country Fried Pop, and All About the Bass. To hear their exquisite harmonies, How Great Thou Art, Do You Hear What I Hear, and Brothers in Arms.
Home Fries recommend that you don’t see Mayday until you’re familiar with the guys and know their (usual) roles. Trust us on this one!
Any song they do won’t disappoint
Home Fries call their covers “upgrades.” They lean country, but do pretty much every genre (even opera!). This group has 5 tenors, 5 beatboxers, 2 bases, and 2 baritones. These guys have no egos and choose who leads by who they think does the best job. They are all genuinely funny, down to earth guys who can make you laugh hysterically in one song and cry in the next with their amazing talent.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! It’s deep, but you’ll never want to escape!

Welcome to the Home Fries. We get a little extreme in support of our guys. They sound "country" because the bass (Tim Foust) is from Texas and Austin Brown [high tenor in the hat] is from Georgia. Both have distinct accents. However, these guys sing all genres. It sounds as if you have a bass voice yourself. The Home Fries will give you many suggestions. These guys have a huge catalog and they are all good. Adam Rupp is their percussionist / sound effects guy (for the most part). Check out his drum solo here: czcams.com/video/EanKWLUaDpg/video.html

    I enjoyed your reaction
Yes, there is no physical harmonica being played. It is all Adam Rupp!
The instrument that you were trying to recall in the beginning, it’s called a mouth harp, and there was no physical one of those either that was being done by Adam Chance 🙂

Great reaction! New sub, came for the Home Free! The more you watch them, you will find out that they are 5 of the most talented guys in music today. They are individually incredible, but collectively they are phenomenal. They are all humble, humorous, and love what they do and love their fans ( Home Fries). Even during quarentine they still filmed videos separately and released them the whole time for their fans. They are a great bunch of guys, so we love them right back!!! Some quarantine videos are when a Man loves a Woman, Meet in the Middle, Folsom Prison Blues and more. They are the best! They do covers(upgrades) and originals. Please check out more Home Free! And thank you for your reaction!

Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves.
In this song they are making a distinct southern (country blues) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazinglyâŁïžđŸŽŒđŸ„°đŸŽ¶â€ïž
Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Remember This", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Timeless", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page), "Listen to the Music", "What's Left of My Heart", "Understand", and "Road Sweet Road" 😍!

It's not a digereedoo, it is overtone singing emulating a jaw harp, a piece of metal shaped somewhat like C= with a piece of spring steel attached to the center of the C and extending between the legs. One holds the legs up to one's mount and strums the spring steel.
Their is a video of how he does the harmonica, search YT for "Adam Rupp Harmonica" and I'm pretty sure you'll find it.
Home free has a large number of covers (200+?) most of which are arguably better than the originals. They also have several originals, my favorite being Champagne Taste.
Whatever you do, avoid watching their cover of Mayday until you are familiar with the members and their voices. Once you can look at a member and hear their voice in your head, only then are you ready for Mayday.

Please Do more of Home Free, they are SO talented and have a huge following (Home Fries) I'll guarantee you'll be not only surprised at their range, but also their ability to do different genre's. This song came out in 1913, a bluegrass number. When it was done on "Oh Brother Where Art thou" that is when a new generation of folks found this classic. I dont think HF has a lead singer as they are ALL overboard talented and all members get to showcase their talent in other songs. New sub here

The original song was written in the early 1900's and covered later by Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and a host of others (most recently the Soggy Bottom Boys). Home Free is always going to sound a little 'country' no matter what they sing 'cuz 3 of them are from southern U.S. states (Texas, Alabama and Georgia - the other 2 are from Minnesota).
