Home Free is the best. The voices, the harmonies, the beat, the vocal ranges, the talent...(and really easy on the eyes. LoL ) They have a great sense of humor and are genuinely nice. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.

They all make their own music.. every single one of these men are amazing.. the guy with the deep voice and the other guy standing next to the beatboxer in the back they both trade base on a lot of their songs while Tim takes the lead Chance does the bass and visa- versa.. Adam Rupp is one of the top 10 best beatboxers... He taught himself to play drums just to be a better beatboxer.. these men are one in a million in Acapella.. they are the best in my opinion ❤🏡🆓🏡🍟
Home Free is the real deal. Yes, they sing country but they sing all genres of music. Try End of the Road (Boyz II Men). It’s great. Three of them sing their own music and have albums out. Tim, the bass, Austin (lead here) and Chance (back left) all have music out. They’re all gifted. 😍😄
No actual technical term though the whole beatboxing genre has a term called vocal percussion but, Home Fries call that the No-Monica. Chance, Tim, and Austin all have solo stuff out. Rob does a movie review channel. Adam plays D&D but no solo stuff except for his drum solo's at live shows .
If you want to hear an even crazier "nomonica" solo from Adam, I highly recommend Home Free's cover of Huey Lewis and the News's 80's hit, "Workin' For A Livin'". Huey was an excellent harmonica player himself, so Adam's "nomonica" riff is a fine tribute.

Home Free is my favorite group and Austin did a great job on starting this song. Rob did great job to and Tim's low bass. Adam's beatboxing is great. Chance did the mouth harp. Tim is my favorite bass guy. Austin is my favorite high tenor. 😊

Hello - Kathy here - right off the bat the guy "playing" harmonica, is a 4 times over world champion beat boxer. Adam Rupp is amazing and there is not another one like him. These guys are amazing, and they do more than country covers. And yes, the base singer, also provides "backup" to Adam on certain songs. They have covered Boyz to Men End of the road, and various others. You just need to go to their channel and check out their catalog.
Tim Faust, the Bass did a song with Peter Hollens, misty mountains that really amps up the bass end of things. Yes they do solo music.
I know that at least 4 members of Home Free can beat box, including Chance standing in back with the black vest beside Adam Rupp the main beat boxer. Chance is doing the mouth harp sound at the beginning and end, although he does it for most of the song at a lower volume.
Tim (The bass) does solo on his channel. Austin (The main singer) does solo on his channel. Chance (The guy in the back left with the hat) does solo. Some people think it's studio magic but his beat boxing live sounds the same. He does use a mixer of course for background beats and ambient stuff like the cricket sounds or when he's doing the harmonica with a beat still going.
Originally when his brother was in the band, the brother used to pick some of the beats when he was going off the chain.
He's won the world beatboxing championship a couple of times so yeah he real good.

Learning it got me to unlock the lower register of my voice. Even the lower backing vocals after his deep verse. My fake harmonica is pretty good, but I have no clue how to emulate that jaw harp

The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group.They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song. AS a Home Fry, I can tell you that PTX is "good", for sure. But, they are NOT as good as Home Free! And, PTX has not been around as long as HF. They are , for some, better well known, since they went on "The Sing-Off" before HF did. Pls also note that HF WON the 'Sing-Off the very next year after PTX was on there. I love good acapella groups, but HF is the best you will hear, overall! No doubt! Too versatile...

Some great info here. Just a couple of updates and clarifications. Chris Rupp has performed only 1 song with the current HF line-up and that was "What Child is This" more than 7 years ago. He also, I believe, has not arranged any songs for them since leaving. In an interview with reactor QoFy in 2021 he stated that he was not involved in the recruitment of Chance to replace him, that was solely done by the remaining 4 members. (A very interesting interview by the way). All 5 current members of HF are married. Austin was the most recent to marry. He and Amberly wed last year.
