    Videos like yours always gives me a smile - I grabbed up the Combat version of this pistol when it first came to the states - Never having owned a glock and being raised on 1911 I was very curious when I read that the Stoeger was a G17 clone with basically an M&P grip angle - so much so that I did not consider it much of a risk ordering one having never even being in the same room as one,, let alone shot it. Just like everyone else, I found it to be a fantastic pistol that I paid less for than I would have paid for the just standard Glock upgrades - Optics cut with 4 metal mounting plates. Suppressor height fiber optic sights, a flaired magwell attachment, 3 backstraps, and a threaded match grade barrel that shoots clovers at 7 yards. oh and a flat-faced trigger. all for less than $500. I had a very early Canik that got me over any Turkish apprehension and knowing the Beretta connection, it was a very easy decision. Glad to see I am not the only fan. BTW it is a full-on Gen3 clone. It will take any internal parts for a G17 you care to install. cheers!

    I'm new to this firearms hobby. After reading many reviews and watching many informative videos, like yours, I decided to buy the Stoeger STR-9 for my choice of a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Only started shooting it this past January, and I love this gun. Tried many different makes of 9mm ammo in this short time, and they ALL went through it fantastic without a single malfunction too. I paid $520.00 CAD for it, and it came with 3 magazines, 3 backstraps, a Stoeger mag-loader and the cable lock for transport. After researching the prices for these magazines I found that they're quite expensive too. The prices usually range from $80.00 to $100.00 CAD. That also confirmed to me what a great price I got for mine with the extras. Thanks for the video.🙂👍PS:- I just checked the exchange rate for today, and found that $520.00 CAD is equivalent to $381.14 USD.

    I own the STR9c, it has been a great gun for the price. The main reason I got one is because I have heard nothing but good things about this gun from others who own It. I have taken my STR9c out to the range a lot and it has never failed me. I have shot a mix of FMJs and hollow points reliably. I have heard of people talking about problems with mags and 115gr ammo. I have never experienced any of those problems. I also loaded NovX 9mm 65gr in two of my mags with the STR9c eating it up.

    This is a great firearm. I bought a Stoeger STR-9F after a few videos going both ways last year, including your initial video. I put about 200 rounds through it the weekend I bought it, and was shocked at how nice it is. I bought a little Ruger EC9S for very conceal carry, and just hated it comparatively (obviously two classes of 9mm). I saved up and sold my Ruger, getting a G43X to replace it and it's so snappy compared to the Stoeger I almost wish I'd bought a Stoeger compact. I have a lifetime supply of .40 and a little Taurus I HATE so I plan on expanding my Stoeger collection with the STR-40.

    I rented one today, a 9C. my groupings were tight and my shots were going exactly were l was aiming very little deviation. I was pleasantly surprised to a point that lm going to get one.
    I have a G45 that takes effort for me to shot accurately. I have to use heavier grains 147 primarily for me to be accurate with my g45.
    It was effortless shooting the stoger the only thing that I would change are the aggressive back-strap.
    I’m big on that you get what you pay for. But l love this gun, great purchase.

    Bought my STR9 about 2 months ago;have ran 300 rounds thru it, with 3 malfunctions -basically, non consistent ejection....could be the use of different ammo. That being said: Feels great in my hand & is very,accurate; even with an imperfect shooter. Not bad for a pistol $402.00 TOTAL: Gun,tax,background fee + bought 3 additional mags. I'm satisfied & I've been told the CZ PO1 mags are compatiable(good), since I can source them cheaper than the $35 general listings. Thanks for your honesty....time has a way of changing things & some guns require a "break-in" period....loosening of mag springs,properly cleaning & lube,& ammo preferences. Stoeger👍

    Great, honest review. These are basically Berettas made in Turkey. And they're "cheap" because it's not easy to get into the US market which has a great selection of pistols at all price ranges. So they have to keep their prices low until their products catch on. And because (admittedly) Stoeger Turkey is not really interested in increasing their pistol sales in Turkey and abroad. I'd guess they're content with their shotgun sales. What a shame.

    I own the full size and sub compact STR-9. I shoot with both guns 90+ consistently from 15 yds. As a comparison, with my shield plus with red dot I struggle to achieve 80+ . I sold my Masada Slim, could not make it work for me, and really tried hard. The Stoeger trigger has something that just fits my style of shooting. I mounted to both a cheap Amazon laser, that's it. The SC is my EDC because I know I can trust it and if I have to defend myself I know I am in control and no danger to bystanders.

    I bought a few years ago and while I do love it especially considering the price I payed of $199, I have experienced multiple failures using various ammunitions. Failures to feed, failures to eject. The worst and most alarming failure I had was very strange. The gun had jammed mid mag while shooting some Winchester, it had extracted the spent casing fine, and it fed the next round almost all the way home, but it would not go fully into battery, nor would the slide pull back either. It was somehow totally seized up. Despite me trying to hulk it loose I could not get it to break free, I had to smash it on a rock out at the range to get it to break loose and send the slide home, then it resumed firing fine. Kind of an alarming malfunction if you ask me. I do really like the feel of the gun in my hand, it shoots nicely and is accurate, but because of the malfunctions I have experience with it I wouldn't trust it with my life. Fun range toy though, for sure!

    Since mags for the STR-9C and STR-9SC are still as abundant as hen's teeth, I've done a bit of experimenting. Canik's mags work quite well in the Stoegers. The only failing I've found, so far, in testing the Caniks in my Stogers is they do not trigger the hold-open on the slide when the mag hits empty. You'll note a little bit of slop in the seating of the Caniks, but that seems to have no impact on function. I'm not advocating buying a bunch of Canik mags to use in your Stoeger, but if you happen to have a Canik, and a few mags for it...

    debated the STR9SC between the G3C and the APX but the STR had a better feel. I am not sorry for it. It is a really good gun especially for the money. I later bought the G3C and although it seems to be a pretty decent budget gun the STR is better overall i feel. i even payed 100 bucks less for it. I chose it over the APX only because the APX seemed a bit more bulky to me but i will pick one up and try it to be fair. GIve it time and the STR line will be as popular as some of the more expensive guns.

    Curious why no CZ's were included in the Sweet 16 test. I'm kinda debating between a few handguns, one of which is the Stoeger STR-9, the other a CZ P10C. Curious on your thoughts about that match-up.

    • @Jet_Lifer
      @Jet_Lifer Před rokem

      The CZ-P10C is such a good firearm bro! I highly recommend it. Very reliable and durable. Palmetto state armory has the optics ready version for $369.99 which is a steal.

    • @BigBear--
      @BigBear-- Před rokem

      @@Jet_Lifer That's why I was asking, because the price dropped on the CZ's. I'm in a prolonged move to FL from PA/NY, and all my firearms have already been moved down there. Meanwhile I will still be spending extended amounts of time in PA, so I was looking for something fairly cheap, and reliable, to pickup just to serve me in the meantime. Besides my long guns, shotties, and AR pistols, I already got a Springfield XDM 3.8 Compact in .40 S&W (original XDM, not the new Elites), and a new Walther PDP Pro Compact in 9mm. Both are down in FL. The CZ P10C was on of the few I originally cross shopped with the Walther PDP, it was one of the runner ups. I actually shot the CZ P10C ever so slightly better when I rented it together with a PPQ 4", Sig P320, Glock 19 gen 4, and the M&P 2.0 Compact. Surprisingly shot really well with the P320 too, though I find it way more bulky, with a higher bore axis, and a higher peice tag, which is why I skipped it (also no trigger safety made me ever so slightly nervous). I found the M&P to be really comfortable, and felt great in hand, but for some reason couldn't get the accuracy out if it like the others. Could be the hinged trigger is just that ackward for me, cause I know otherwise they're great pistols. The CZ and the PPQ were my favorite (PPQ, cause they didn't have a PDP to rent). I don't want to spend over $600 right now, cause it's much harder to justify the amount of time I have left in PA for that kinda cash, but in that $300 - 370 range, it's ok for some extra piece of mind. Back to where we started, so you think thr CZ is the better choice between it and the Stoeger? See I wouldn't mind the Stoeger if it was in that $200 range, but for the same money at $370ish, yeah I think you're right, CZ all the way. Prob is finding one locally without having to pay shipping or FFL transfer fees. Cause ecen though it sounds good at $369 online, once you add tax, shipping, and $40-50 FFL transfer fee, it goes from $370 to at least $450.

    • @Jet_Lifer
      @Jet_Lifer Před rokem

      @@BigBear-- yea you’re right once you add tax and FFL transfer fee it’ll be around that $450 range, but out the door that’s still a good price. Everywhere else I see them going for no less than $500. Don’t get me wrong the stoeger is a great gun for the price and every review I’ve seen on it has been good. When it comes down to it whatever you decide to go with will be a good buy. All I was saying was that for the CZ at that price is a steal because it’s literally on the same level as the Glocks, Smiths, Walthers, and Sigs for $150-200 less.
