Hickok45 he is my firearms teacher, I have learn so much about polymer striker fire and polymer hammer fire. Love all my polymer firearms. Mr Hickok45 thank u 4 many years of firearms teaching.
I bought the str-9 when it first came out to the shelves at sportsmans whse for $299, and i love it. I have many, glock, ria, smith, taurus, etc., but it quickly became my edc as well as my tac gear gun. I love the trigger, shoots great, accurate, and dependable. Only drawback is it comes with only 1 mag and they retail for $35-$50 depending on availability.
I got one as soon as they came out. Great gun. The only bad is the one magazine. Love mine
I got mine with 3 magazines and 3 backstraps. Definitely a great gun. Hard to choose between it, my Ruger Security 9, or my Arex Delta L. I got 2 more Stoeger mags for 35 a piece i believe. A little pricey, but good to have extras!
str9 gang stand up 👍
Same I got it back in mid 2020
What holster do you use
I don't think I've commented on your videos yet but I just want to say I appreciate your content. I am an army vet, former gun salesman and I haven't found a single thing in your videos that I disagree with, and I'vebeen a follower since the beginning. You are my go to for firearm fundamentals and any basic firearm information. Anytime I need to share something informative about firearms you have exactly the video I need whatever it may be. Keep up the great work boss, love the channel
I bought the Stoeger STR-9C at Academy Sports in Mooresville NC for $179.00 with tax came out to about $235.00 out the door. I had a Glock 19 Gen 4 and comparing this Pistol to the Glock, I feel as if they are the same. I have sent 1,500 rounds down range with my Stoeger with no issues--nothing! Runs smooth and the recoil is very manageable and second and third shots are very easy to recover or back on target. Mine came with only the Medium back-strap which is fine for me, but I am planning to buy the small back-strap and replace the sites with night-sights. I can say this pistol is made with excellent quality and is very reliable. I do carry it as my main option for EDC. I love this pistol and I'm very confident with it and it's as accurate as the Glock 19. I highly suggest this firearm for anyone looking for a quality low-budget option for home defense and EDC. God bless you Hickok45 for all you do for the gun community and your videos.
As always another fair, unbiased demonstration/review of a modern handgun. IMHO it is marvelous to be living in a time (and Country) where there are so many 'value-priced' firearms available to us. Just because a person doesn't have deep pockets need not mean they can't be ably protected as the many good quality under $300-ish handguns attest.
Good to see you again sir. I always watch your channel to help me decide on every firearm I purchase. Thank you for your abundance knowledge on these different type of weapons to help us increase our knowledge and decisions in what type of firearm I need to save my life and or others also just to have fun with at the range. Thank you
I bought this gun used with one mag for $250. I really like it. It shoots really well and I have no complaint about the grips.

I bought a STR9 with 15 round magazine about a year ago. You can buy different back straps. I picked up 4 extra magazine. It will empty a mag pretty quick. I really like it and it is my new carrier.
Bought my first handgun in 2020, during the great panic buy. The full sized STR9 was one of the ones that were available to me, so that's what I got. It suited me well enough for acclimating into firearm ownership and going to the range every now and then, and it's a cheap enough handgun where I don't feel bad feeding steel case ammo through it.
Exact same story
I feed Tulamo steel case through my Glock 43x
@@airmax3556 Would you put steel through a CZ Shadow 2 or a FN High Power?
@@Malefactor nah lol definitely would not, brass only.
@@Malefactor but I do run steel case through my Canik and Glock tho

Hickock 45, thank you for your shooting videos. I liken your videos to my grandfather telling me a bedtime story when I'm eight years old on christmas eve and all is right with the world.
Hickok45 is always where I go to get information if I am looking at a firearm to buy
Always it's a good start of the week with a Hickok45 video!
Some of the negatives posted about this pistol are correct, magazine availability being number one, but, this is a sweet shooter, and we'll made, I was really satisfied with it.
You can find mags for around 35 bucks now. Most gun stores have them in my area anyway.
Mines came with 3 mags 🤷🏾♂️
@@highgradebrandtv7804 lucky mines came with one
I ordered 3-15 round Stoeger magazines from Impact Guns.
Since Federal helps you quite a bit, It would be nice to see you explain the different grades/style ammo Federal offers, Such as, Champion, etc.
Oooooh, I was waiting for this!!!! I'm thinkin' about buying it!

A Great CIAO from Italy
Bought one today. I also own the Stoeger 8040 Cougar. Awesome guns for the money. Beretta Holding owns them so you get Italian magazines. Superb firearm.
Got mine full size about a year ago. Mine had trigger reset issues in the beginning but after breaking in at what I would say about 750 rnds. It now functions flawlessly. And this gungets dropped on floor constantly. Falls out my pocket while riding atvs and still does good even when racking is crunchy. So all in all I guess it is a good gun.
Looks like a good value for the money pistol, thanks for sharing this with us.
Stoeger has been making firearms for many years. They bought Beretta's tooling for the 8000 9mm about 12 years ago and moved it to Turkey where they had the rights to build it under their own name. O considered buying one but it was very large in my hand. I think Hickok45 would like that. Thanks for the review. Locally it's for sale with one mag for $299. Both the NC Palmetto State Armory store and Hyatt Gun Store have them. Maybe even BassPro but I haven't checked. I think it would be a good range and bedside gun for my wife. She will determine if that's true.
4:00 hickok doesnt look happy talking about it
Yea I have a stoeger 8000 couger and that thing has been my most reliable handgun. It's actually the 8040 in 40s&w but its built like a real beretta. Love it
@@CentralFloridaHipHop I have a Stoeger Cougar 8000 in 9mm and mine is great. Its biggest knock is the lack of OEM mags but I've heard cutting a mag catch in a Beretta 92 mag works
@@waynekeer that is literally about just the grip, that can be changed easily, he didn’t shit on anything else
I love mine. I've had it for about a month now and I've put a blue/green beam flashlight combo on it and it looks great now
Now it's official like a referee with a whistle.....i was one of whom who requested this little booger to be reviewed. I own the model that came with 3 - 13rd mags & 3 - backstraps, in rotation with firearms i EDC. Thank you Mr. 45 for the quick little review of this mean little booger. 👏👏👏👏💪💥🔫😉
Nice to see Stoeger making a decent product. I remember when they first came out with shotguns in the US, probably around 30 years ago... My father showed me one on the rack and suggested I pick it up. Had to be around 12lb, at a 26 inch barrel. My father appreciated a lightweight upland double and was pretty unimpressed. I don't think I've seriously looked at Stoeger since. Perhaps it's time to reconsider.
I just bought one. seems like a great gun for the money. exactly what i needed.
The serrations on my subcompact cut my thumb lol. Finding nothing but junk at a local gun show, I found my Stoeger at the stated price and took it to the range for a great afternoon if enjoyable firearm action. Easy to use and easy to clean while being quite accurate. Paid $35 for another mag but quite happy with a modest amount of durability.
I gotta meet you!! Been a fan since the beginning of the berm. I'm at FT Campbell. You are a true legend.
What timing! I was just wondering about these pistols! Thank you for sharing this with us. It appears to meet my expectations.
God bless all here.
For the price you can't go wrong, I love mine. Their mags are expensive though.
@@americafirst6016 thanks buddy! I appreciate the feedback.
I just noticed that you are at over 6.55 million subs. Congratulations H45. I remember when you went over a 1 million. Thank you for helping us.. the shooting public.
Thanks Hickok45, for showing and telling us about the Stoeger STR-9C 9mm pistol. I just brought one for 250.00 I like the pistol.
Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
I agree about the rough texture on the grip…a few minutes with carefully used 220 grit sanding paper working down to 320 grit covers a multitude of sins 👍👍👍…magazines are available from Sportsman’s Warehouse online from time to time as well as Midwest Gunworks, all are high quality Italian magazines. I picked up my STR-9C from Bud’s for under $300 + $10 transfer fee last year (shoutout to Bud’s) and I really feel it was a quality pistol for the money spent!…I’ve shot close to 1,000 of my 115/125 cast powder coated bullets as well as several hundred factory rounds with zero issues and good accuracy 😎…this is (at least for me) a bargain priced pistol with good performance.
Since you're testing handguns from shotgun manufacturers, I'd love to see a review of either the Mossberg MC2c (compact) of the new MC2sc (sub-compact). BUDS lists both on their website, with the larger MC2c a screaming good deal!
I love my SToeger shotguns. They've now replaced my Benelli Super Blackeagles when Duck and Goose hunting. The internals on the Stoeger 3500 are the exact same internals as the Gen 1 Super Black Eagle.
First off....great channel.....the Stoger compact is a heck of a deal....got mine for $250 from KY Gun Co......the back of the grip is harsh... I sanded it down a bit just to make it comfortable but functional. Hard to find fault in a low priced firearm that isn't related to functionality or reliability. Great review though...keep it going.
Outdoors superstore with 50.00 Rebate str-9c was 190.00 beans. Slip on grips and a sixteen round magazine the str -9c feels almost like a full size handgun. Perfect set up.
ruger sr9 and sr9c. i have the sr9c. just bought a stoeger str-9 full size and i love it!
I'll always recommend STR9 to people who are looking for EDC. Simply due to the fact that you may unfortunately have to use it. If you use it, they may take it as evidence. When they take it as evidence they will punish you when found innocent and make you wait for a whole long process to receive it back, they may even lose it or destroy it. STR9 is a great reliable pistol for a great price that, at least for me, holds no sentimental value. If I EDCed any of my other firearms, I'd be upset if that whole process happened and they lost my Sig.
Just buy a back up Sig
I seen one of these for 299 at bass pro on Sunday and i was wondering if they were worth buying, this video was almost perfect timing
I got a coach gun in the supreme fashion, my favorite sentiment. Can’t wait to hand it down!
I'm considering an Uplander side by side so I can retire my 1947 vintage JC Higgins shotgun.
@@doughesson I've had my uplander S/S for years! I've never had a problem, they are well worth looking into!

Hickok, I really enjoy your videos. Great content! Have you ever done a review of the Shadow Systems line of pistols? I would be curious to know what you think about their MR920 and the new CR920 they have coming out soon. I think this would be a good thing to review.
Thanks Mr. Hickok 45. I put a STR-9SC on lay away today. I wanted the cheapest 9mm in the shop and that's what got handed to me.
Sold my sd40ve cause it was too uncomfortable to carry while working went and bought me one of these today and had money left over I love it

That mag loader is bad ass also I like the he's like me when it comes to grip I like a ruff grip
Hello Hickok45, I have been watching your videos since I came across your "How not to reload an m1 garand" video. I am from Australia which has strict firearms laws but watching your videos is very interesting. Keep up the great content!
Look up "How NOT to load an M1 Garand" by Hickok.
Man, that's awful. Guns are amazing if used safely. In England, a pistol or semi-auto weapon is banned, let alone an auto.
In brazil it's even worse civilians aren't allowed to have guns,if you get caught with one you going for prison for next 5 years.
@@Mustang_1965 brazil it's even worse civilians aren't allowed to have guns,if you get caught with a weapon you going to prison for the 5 years.
@@Mustang_1965 Oh no I am not complaining. Guns are just so strict to get that there hasn't been a shooting in years.
Glad to see you man! :D
8:37 you can actually see the bullet as it flies towards the gong, nice.
The plain Jane functional tools are the ones that go a LONG way!💯
Street price is about $300 for this Stoeger. I think I’d spend $25 more bucks and get a Canik Elite.
I doubt you'll find one in stock for that cheap these days
If you can find a Canik TP9 Elite SC for $325 buy 5.
I can't find the Canik for less than $399 and then you have shipping and transfer fee on top of that.
Great gun, the magazines can now be found for $35.00. The aggressiveness back strap is a bit much, I sanded mine down until it was comfortable during firing.
Very very nice. Thank you sir.
Love my Turkish gun, got the Sar9 and tp9 elite. Tp9 is nicer but I’m more accurate with the Sar, you get a lot for the money imo.
Love my sar9 and my buddy has a tp9. The recoil is definitely better on the sar9. And it just fits the hand so nice. The Turkish military switched from tp9 to sar9 for a reason
@@bidenisgod6978 yes, fits the hands nicely and with it passing that 150,000 round torture test it’s kinda hard to pass up. I’m glad a lot of ppl don’t know about this sleeper, keeps the prices low
A great value with decent quality.
I bought one because of this review thank you I like it alot
you are the best shooter your aim is incredible
It's basically a glock with a m9 magazine. I have the full size. Had it for about a year and I love it!
While I will always love my gen 3 Glock 19, I prefer shooting my str9c. The grip is much more comfortable, especially the more subtle finger groove compared to the Glock.
i like waking up to that sound
god bless america!
thanks sir!!
Man I would not wanna be on the receiving end of a gunfight with hickok45.
I paid $315 for my str-9 . It was worth it , I really like this pistol .
Hi, thanks for shaing, i have been waiting to see this gun for which i heard quite a few good things, apparently it never jams...concerning automatic handguns, i don't know if it does exist, i do know one that hardly ever causes any problem and that's the wilson combat 1911 type, Hicock, if ever you can please bring a couple of those wilson with the special grips like the EDC X9L or the Experior model. Thanks.
Wow..it did take me 2 times before I got the joke about great gun for d_fench....never laughed so hard..great job guys...love you all very much.
I have the full sized version. It shoots like a dream. People often forget stoeger was bought by benelli. You’re getting a quality firearm for a deal and a half.
baretta is also the parent company of it
Great bang for the buck. Hard to beat.
Seems like the polymer is considerably thicker than the glock. Has a cold hammer forged barrel so I think it is just as good if not better than a glock. I just got mine str-9 4.2" barrel for 225.00 at ky gun store.
i recommend sandpapering down the aggressive texture. And the online stoeger shop has mags available.
Türk silahlarinı denediğın için teşekkür ederiz🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Thank you for making such high quality low price guns. Canik is growing popularity over here and they're showing the American gun market that a high quality pistol shouldn't cost more than 550 most times.
I thoroughly enjoy shooting this. It’s pretty accurate to say the least. Even better shooting it outdoors. 😍😎
i have the full size model loaded with 135 grain hrdra shock personal defense never fired, owned it bout a year or so, ordered a universal inside/ outside holster from Amazon and fits fine considering theres not alot of accessories for it yet and for edc its fine and i wear sweat pants every day of my life.
You carry it but never fired it to make sure it functions properly with your ammo…?
Супер, нет слов, просто восторг!!!!!!
I got the 9c Iin fee because I didnt know stoeger made pistols. I love it more than my glocks, more comfortable.
bought one on Halloween went straight to the range. shot 100 rounds at 7 meters.put all except 3 in the black bulls eye. shot the entire black center out.the sights are as good if not better than the ones I have on my Glock 26. the indentations on each side make the slide release easier to work that's on all Glock pistols.magazine held 13 + one ...made in italy...excellent quality. will be ordering 3-4 of the 16 rounders that are now made for it. i too like a rough backstrap.i have shot stoeger shotguns for 30 years in duck blinds all up the eastern coast line. stoeger is owned by benelli who in turn is owned by Beretta.i call their shotgun line "poor mans Benelli" . Turkey makes OUTSTANDING rifles, other long guns as well as pistols...both for civilian and the military.they also make EXCEPTIONAL drones for civilian and military use....ask the Russians and Ukrainians, Iran, estonia, latvia, Hamas how they work!! I paid 279$ plus tax for mine. it shoots as good than my SIG M11 A1.
Congratulations! Excelent! Abraço. Sid, São Bernardo do Campo, SP. Brasil.
Stoeger are without a doubt, undisputedly, the best pistol made for the price. My 15 year old cougar is my favorite pistol out of numerous pistols. Being owned by Benelli Beretta, they’re no joke. Are they the best? No, of course.. but for $300 they’re not in the same caliber as Taurus or anything comparable.
Very true! Also I feel it's much better than a Glock considering the better trigger and ergos🙂💯
Turkey makes great firearms for the prices. I'd take a Turkish-made pistol over a Brazilian one, both countries produce affordable quality pistols though.
