GREAT VIDEO!! I forgot that you guys made a video. This is my truck and I can say that it sounds incredible and the install is beyond professional. I am VERY VERY VERY happy!!!!!
    To clarify a few things:
Their disclaimer at 11:05 - yes, they recommended Fast Rings and DynaMat... I cheaped out on that... my bad.
Mix n match system - again, my choice to save a few bucks. I was given 3 choices:
    1. Higher dollar swap out (basically the same system except sub in: HSK 165.4, Alpine PDX-V9, Fast Rings, DynaMat, etc...)
    2. Save a few hundred and you see what I got.
    3. For even less, keep the factory headunit with a DQ-61 and basically the rest of my system.
I kind of regret not going with option #1... but my system sounds AWESOME so I am not losing sleep. I sold my factory JBL system complete for $800+ online and got a $150 Pioneer rebate which would have way more than offset the extra $$$ in option #1. If only I could have a do over.
Last thing... the dark gray install kit that goes around the headunit was all that they had in stock that day. A few days later Dean swapped in the brushed carbon metallic trim to match the dash in my Tundra 1794.
This is the 3rd vehicle that Dean has put a system in for me. I had no idea how much work he puts in that can't even be seen when your button up the dash and install the seats. WOW. I wouldn't use anyone else. Did I say that I was happy with this system?

Finally! A Tundra video! I really enjoy your videos and the excursions to Disney!
My Tundra has an old school Alpine double DIN touch screen, navi, SiriusXM, DVD, Alpine Audyssey Imprint DSP - GPS no longer works - want a new ILX107!
Boston components (no longer made) on all 4 doors- Rockford P3 shallow mount 12, Punch 300 watt on the sub, Punch 400 watt on the highs-
Now waiting for an old school Pathfinder/QX4 or '13-'18 body style Avalon video-
1999 Nissan Pathfinder has nice old school Alpine single DIN and Audio Control preamp/equalizer, legendery old school Alpine V757 on 2 Rockford 10's in a sealed boc, a newer Alpine 4-channel on Boston Rally 57's on all 4 doors (over 20 years old) and Polk Audio tweeters on the front doors-
Avalon is still stock because I haven't seen a dash kit I like- might leave factory head unit and improve all else-
Considering a 12-14 hour road trip to get you guys to do it for me.
Your work is top notch. Dean's explanations are great. Fernando doesn't talk much, but does great work.

    I've got a 2007 Tundra double cab.
Im purchasing my system in parts.... so I don't spend SO MUCH CASH at one time.
I've got a Kenwood DDX6906S, an old school Alpine MRD-F752.
    Spec on the amp,
    4x75 into 4 ohms @ 0.08% THD
    4X100 into 2 ohms @ 0.3% THD
    SUB,
    250X1 into 4 ohms @ 0.3% THD
I just can't decide on my speakers. The Focal and Audio Frog, are my two lead contenders. Ive been thinking about using the Audio Frog GS10, GS40 in a custom pod on my windshield pillar. The GS690 in the front doors. These would all be active crossover.
The problem with this setup for me is Audio Frog doesn't have a shallow mount sub. (At least to my knowledge they don't).
My second idea was to use Focal PS 165 FXE
Performance Series 6-1/2" bi-amplified component speaker systems in the door.
And use this under the rear seat.
    Focal P 20 FSE
Flax Evo Series shallow-mount 8" 4-ohm component subwoofer.
The only problem I see with this: is that I've only got 3.5 inches of depth for the sub. That only leaves 1/2" of space between the magnet and the bottom of the enclosure.
Or my last and least favorite of the 3 choices is to use the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XP184C
Excelon Series 7" component speaker system
And possibly build a custom enclosure with two 6.5 Subs in approximately 1.5 cubic ft of air space.
    What would you guys do?

great video as always.but left me with bunch of questions. you added tweeters to the doors and used 3'' on the dash as tweeters like the factory? (thats alot of tweet) what frequency is the cut off on the bass blocker and what frequency did you set the crossover on the amp for the 3"?are those 6×9 components with inline cossover? I noticed you added a relay with the pac harness. what are you using the relay for?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  Před 7 lety +1

chitwnkrz in this truck it had a factory JBL 3 way set up front. Mid in dash, tweeters in the door, and 6x9 mid bass in door the also. The customer is a balls to the wall Rocker and wanted it super load. There for we did the 3.5 in the dash crossed over around 300. The tweeters had there crossovers. The 6x9 were crossed over around 80. Then we use the gains to adjust the volume off set. The dash and tweets were on channels 1/2 and 6x9 on 3/4. It was Bright but balanced.
The box on the PAC harness was a 12 to 6 volt converter for the backup camera. The PAC harness does have a micro relay on it for powering up accessories. I think I got them all let me know if I missed something:)

Nice clean work. My only question is why don't you crimp your ferrules?

As usual you guys did another super clean install. Thanks for sharing it with us. It looked like you slid a tip on the amp hot wire but did not crimp or solder it, did you just edit out the crimp/soldering step or is that a tip that is friction fit?

Tim datoolman it is a wire ferrule. It is a sleeve that goes over the wire. It keeps all the wire together so when you screw down the wire it does not separate. The heat shrink is just to hold it in place and look cool. I'm guessing there is going to be a video on these next week.
