I just wanted to give a shout out to Everyone at 5 Star! It was a pleasure meeting Paul and Fernando and Dean I've known for decades. They did a fantastic job on my new truck and I couldnt be happier with the way this sounds now. I was debating between the Morel and Focal but the Focal just suits my ears better. Literally am blown away by how amazing the sound quality and low end all came together in perfect harmony. Thanks again guys! And thanks for putting my truck on youtube, that was unexpected. how much was the cost of the install?
I have they flax expert but two way , I’m kicking myself for not going three way ! I agree with the warm sound these Focal give . Really yummy.
What box was used that fit the 12's behind the seat ?

Great video, currently installing this same set in my 2019 Sequoia. Made my midrange brackets this past weekend...waiting on a few parts to get here before doing the install.

That’s a hell of a lot tedious work on those doors, but I’m glad to see y’all taking the the time to do them right. Those doors definitely need to be better insulated for sure. I can tell on my 2018 Crew Max Limited Tundra that the doors aren’t very sound dampened.

Gentlemen, I ran into this video looking for a low budget solution to change out my front mid base speakers and I am glad I did as you guys got my creative juices flowing. What you guys did to that Tundra must be a million dollars and I am sure the sound must be pristine. Do you guys have any recommendation (perhaps plug and play) to use as my mid range base speakers? Maybe also my mid base as well.. Got to say, that three way is sweet. Cheers.

excellent work guys! I wish you guys could do my 17 Tacoma the exact same thing .
I had the flax 3 way in my jeep and it cant say enough about it.For the price it is a great sounding setup ,however its dialed in for SQ more so then SQL.Don’t get me wrong it plays loud,i was using a mosconi 1000.6 actively.But it leans and excels at sound quality.If your interested in loud and clear go with the k2 power series its punchier and more dynamic but not as accurate or clean in the highs ,but the mids slam.I ended up upgrading to the utopia m series 3 way
The tweeter was always in the sail panel on the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition with the JBL system. If you did an install on a Tundra with no tweeter on the door it was a "Grade" or SR5 with no JBL system.

Very cool. Turns out I'm using those same 2 amps in my 2017 Tundra double cab, but my factory system isn't the JBL so I'm running the 6 channel amp in universal mode. The non-jbl toyota head unit makes a distorted signal so I'm going to have to replace it.
CA glue dries? Use kicker or whatever accelerator. That’s one of the many reasons why CA is awesome for car audio. It’s works awesome for a lot of glue applications. Even on metal as long as you prep the material

My 2017 1794 Tundra, similar to the white one you guys showed previously was also a three way (all JBLs should be)
Wish mine was 3 way. I had 2 way and replaced the factory fronts with pioneer component 6x9 with a tweeter......but I got no mids now because the 1" went in place of the 2.75"

I have the p165fx with a JL amp. Everyday it sounds a It better. Thinking about upgrading to a newer JL amp for dsp
The VXI series. I have same as you; Flax 165 fx two way separates up front with the matching PC 165 Flax coaxials powered by JL XD 600/6 for all hi’s (active), XD 600/1 - two Sundown da-12 d2’s. I have two separate DSP’s the Audison Bit one (currently installed) and a AC DM-810 w/ the WiFi option port hi res streaming dongle. The audio control is mounted but not been switched over yet want to see which one sounds better.

Hey guys, I have a 2022 Nissan frontier. I’m installing a Sony touchscreen and I have a four channel amp. I’ll bridge two channels for a sub and use two channels for a set of focal auditor components in the front. I plan on using 9-wire to run from behind the head unit to the amp. What would be the best way to hook the mid, tweeter and crossover?

Have you guys ever done a 2018 power wagon without the alpine system I have a JL audio 900 x 5 and a 12 W6 V3 I want to do for all three ways in the front along with something in the rear for Fill...I’m looking at the dsr1 to integrate ... do you have links to all those phone pieces that you installed I’m going to sound dead in the doors and I was considering doing the foam pieces also....

How long did it take to just do the driver door?
I kept my center speaker. Removed the factory speaker and widened the opening to accept a 4" Morel.
How are you able to do time alignment if you're using the passive crossovers? I thought you had to go active to be able to do effective time alignment.

They can only do eq and time align for each corner of the truck not each component separately

Also I know you guys are making so ok money at least on your work since you guys do quality work and I’m sure for a reasonable price but people know they are paying a little more for a better quality install. So treat your selves and upgrade you screw guns. Check out the m12 fuel installation driver or even the newer fuel screw gun or impact of you prefer that. But I like the fuel screw gun or install driver

Quisiera me comentaras si ves que realizando jailbrecak haría posible este funcionamiento.
Dado que el modo cierre de pantalla no esta dentro de las opciones desde ajuste.

Can someone explain how they did the wiring?
1- how did they wire the 3 way component speakers? Did they wire all of them from the ceossiver or they used the crossover to wire the mid and tweeters only?
2- why and how did use use two channels for each door in the front? Aren't the component speakers need to be paired into one channel from the amplifire that splits into three wires?
How long does an install like this take?

Me also ,but I think they just tapped into them...
I woulda cut and soldered the new wire to the factory wire

When installing such speakers in the door, more thorough preparation of the subwoofer podiums is needed. Noise isolation of the entire door with all holes closed. Also, insulation of the door trim of the plastic shell is needed! You also need to change the wires in the door in a large section. class, do it conscientiously ...

That huge hole in the door needs to be addressed so the door is more like a sealed enclosure for optimal sound . This will make a HUGE difference in the mid-bass and lower end of the vocals.
Yes I felt the same way. I would of took the vapor barrier plastic and transfered the shape to cardboard. Then transfered that to a sheet of roadkill and did away with the plastic altogether.

FYI the woofers will not fit in the door without an additional spacer. You can see in the video they added one but didnt make mention of it. Found this out when I went to install the same set today.
