I am now 66 years of age. When I was 16 years old, I worked with Bernard St. Claire Lee ( man with headband in video), House of Pancakes, 443 East Manchester blvd, Inglewood, California. This was before Hues Corporation became recognized. He was an opening cook and I was a weekend bus boy. He would rehearse after work. I am pleased he got recognized for his talent. He was truly a nice man and I don't recall him ever saying anything bad about anyone else. He passed away a couple of years ago. He grew up in Santa Monica, Ca and was part American Indian. I remember him fondly. He gained recognition after " Rock the Boat" and did sound track for the late 1970s Black spoliation movies. I became a doctor of optometry at age 26.We never met up after leaving the House of Pancakes.
Wow, I remember spending many lonely nights with just my little transistor AM radio to comfort me. WLS Chicago was my station, they played this and all the hits of the 60's and 70's.
RIP Bernard! I remember how proud I was to be able to tell my friends that I was related to you! Thanks for the memories. Love always your little cousin, Tammy.
Tammy : how are you related to Lee St. Claire? I would love to hear from his kin, 50 years after I met him. I am now 66 years of age. What would music be without black music? close your eyes and exclude all black singers from all countries... the world would be one-legged and one-handed
I'm 77 now, and I was Class of 1963 from Santa Monica High School. Bernard Lee was Class of 1962. RIP Bernard!

Bonita y triste a la vez de su historia . Que bonito recordar esos momentos . Y no conoció a más nadie del grupo y jamás fue a verlo ensayar ?

If Bernard hadn't worn his trademark headband, I wouldn't have known who he was. He looks so different here. May he forever rest in peace.
This song is full of golden memories of the 70's.

That's not the original lead singer of this song.
Punkanelly Lovejoy yeah, he looks 40 years younger than the others, so I’d say that’s a safe bet.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this, lol.
Algum brasileiro aqui?🤔🤗
Sim eu também sou brasileiro
