5th Gen 4Runner Front Diff Regear!

we took a 2012 4runner and installed 4.88 Nitro Gear and Axle ring and pinion kit for the front differential in this video. This was my first clamshell diff i’ve ever done so was definitely a learning curve but it went well so we’re pleased with how it came out. we also replaced all the bearing races, some people re use them but we do not. new bearings and races in every build.

Hard to tell, but the pinion depth looked a little off from the yellow marking. Did it take multiple tries to get a good lash pattern or was it good first time?

we made the paint a little too thick first go around. but we had to do a couple tries before the pattern was good
