In Part 2 of this video, we put Tesla FSD Beta 11.4.7.3 on Assertive Mode on our Model 3 RWD to the ultimate test: driving in the busy and chaotic streets of Downtown Toronto! How will the self-driving car cope with the traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, and other obstacles that it encounters along the way?
Will it be able to follow the rules of the road and avoid accidents? Watch the video to find out!
CHAPTERS:
00:33 Tries to overtake bus to make right turn on main road.
00:46 Makes right turn nicely followed by a smooth immediate left lane change for upcoming left turn. Much better than previous software updates.
01:53 Car starts braking after passing the traffic light?
02:09 Phantom wipers. Turns on when there is no rain.
02:49 Lane drifting? Going into furthest left lane even though we have a right turn coming up!
03:29 Phantom braking. Perhaps due to construction or narrow lanes?
03:58 Marsha pings to get into lane but cancels after realising parked car in lane.
04:24 Recognises construction and makes appropriate lane change.
05:05 Pedestrian crossing from blind corner on green light almost gets hit! Marsha slows down appropriately.
05:53 Crazy busy intersection! WOW.
07:01 Tesla visualization shows wrong orientation of cyclists. Does this affect phantom braking?
07:38 We finally made it through the intersection!
08:10 New behaviour from system reacting to pedestrian and cyclists in adjacent lane. Swerves left and right in the lane every time it detects a cyclist!
10:22 Marsha ends up entering another lane almost causing an accident!
11:29 Marsha needed to continue on the right lane as the left lane was for cars coming from the left side!
12:00 Left turn followed by tight street. Very narrow due to cars parked on either side.
14:40 The driver actually wanted to enter the private parking. We had to manually reverse and give them space to enter into the parking entrance.
15:29 Left turn. Accelerated unnecessarily on the turn and freaked on pedestrian in the process.
16:06 Final left turn. Very smooth into narrow street.

I don’t think it will solve it, but it should operate a lot smoother.
