Not gonna lie I read that as pikmin hill.
One thing I love about these lists is when you mention about the music and the different types of genres that are in each level I didn't know that there was UK Garage and UK Jungle until you pointed out and I think I love this game even more because of that. It works as your a music guy so you know all this type of music genres and such.
Shit man after watching this video I went on to Spotify to look up some UKG (I’m American btw), and now Flowers and Do you really like it are regular part of my personal playlist.
I like this list, but if I have to be honest, I would've preferred you doing a top songs list from this game instead. Think it'll be a little more interesting coming from you and your taste in music.

Aquatic Mine is one of my favorite just because it gave me "Dive into the mellow." That song is legendary.

It's so cool whenever you talk about this stuff, it just gives me some really comfy vibes, like I'm talking to a friend (except only one person is talking, but you get the idea). And these stories of older times just give me some nostalgic feelings, even it's about something I didn't experience and isn't even anything I was familiar with, the whole idea just brings back memories, sometimes even if it's about something different, it's still relatable in a way.
It's probably why I've been enjoying your Off the Cuff videos so much.

I just assume you all blocked the last half of Crazy Gadget out from your memory.
(In no particular order)
- Mad Space (fucked up gravity physics, huge pain in the ass to travel between planets)
- Crazy Gadget (boy howdy do I love somersaulting right past switches into pits of acid :)) also the upside down segments are annoying, and the colorful block "puzzle" area is boring...)
- Route 208 (okayish on it's own, but some of those side missions are maddeningly frustrating. Hard to separate the core level from those memories lmao)
- Eternal Engine (I like what they were going for, but the whole level is just annoying. Annoying difficulty spikes, annoying gimmicks, annoying structure, annoying knuckles segment ((especially if you didnt get the air necklace))
- Final Chase (a bit too long for my taste; would be okay if not for those broken-ass gravity cylinders. Doesnt really do anything to set itself apart from the other space levels, aesthetically speaking)
terrible lizard i think you have mistaken eternal engine for cannons core. Eternal engine is the final tails level with the dynamite
@@wanderlustwarrior Crazy gadget aint so bad once you get use to it imo. Mad space tho i a ranked every mission so i can say with confidence that it sucks. Its not all bad it's got some fine set pieces and ideas but the basic gravity movement is always annoying and never intuitive, even after A ranking it.

As a extreme sonic adventure battle 2 fan, it's really refreshing to hear your opinion alongside someone liking knuckles/rouge stages besides me for once. Your opinions on the stages and how you word them really makes me look at the game in a different perspective, and I liked hearing the way your upbringing effected how you liked the stages. Really great made list man, hope you have a good the rest of your year. PS You should look up Hunnid P, the singer for knuckles' stages, he has a youtube channel he releases music on

Generally, Knuckles' themes are great. And Rouge's, and Shadow's.

AAAH DIGI I'm honestly so here just for u gushing about UKG! :'D This is one of the tracks that solidified that I LOVED the sound as a kid, then you opened up the whole world of these bubblin tunes to me. Now I'm a full on junkie of this genre.

Here’s a hot take: I love Security Hall. I know that treasure hunting in general is considered bad and Security Hall is hated because of the time limit, but to me that’s the best part. It’s like a test to me, how fast can I get the emeralds on a strict time limit? It’s super satisfying to get an A Rank in.

just realized the space levels(as much as love meteor herd.) are from the shards knuckles idiotically left in the shuttle(used to think those were the ones you fought rouge for.) when back then i thought knuckles had such a strong punch he sent them to space.(he did punch super sonic knocking the emeralds out.)
When you said there was only 1 Sonic level appearing I was thinking "Well there better be Shadow levels in here then" so I was happy to see 2 Shadow levels make an appearance
I'd like to hear your issues with the speed stages (besides the rail grinding of course). The rail grinding I think is a lot of fun when you know how it works. When you know that crouching is required to keep your speed on the rails. When you know how to use the spin dash, bounce attack and/or the homing attack to get on the rails with momentum. When you know when and how to switch rails and when you know how to do trick jumps at the end of rails. The grinding is really finicky in this game but it's better than in games that came after
City Escape doesn't really have any issues for me so I'm curious what stopped it from appearing here.
If I remember right white jungle was one of the first levels the devs made.
The point of this video was probably not to get me to find UK Garage music, but that's what I did.
After watching all of Who dat i had to Sub all love the Content you throwing out sir Valentine.
I think every U.K. child played SA2 and was astonished by the garage music.

I believe City Escape is only peoples fav is simply because of the song.
Or because it's fun to playthrough and is good for Ring grinding for Chao.
I mean it’s a great introduction to a game to get people accustomed to the feel of the game and going fast.
It's mainly the fact that the level is an entrance to sonic and how good it plays into the 3 acts

The Boos in Aquatic Mine scared the hell outta me. The one in the room with the warning sign is basically unavoidable so lol. I think they were in pumpkin hill and the two eggman pyramid stages for rouge and knuckles

I agree that Sonic’s levels always had gimmicks that broke the pace like fetching keys in pyramid cave, and switching gravity in crazy gadget. I still love Sonic’s levels but I always played Shadow’s levels more.

if you ever do more stuff on jungle/uk music it would be really cool to talk about sf 3rd strike, its full of slick dnb + a rave track on dudleys stage, and the remix community for that game is basically its own scene

Honestly, I think I also have an unlikely list of favorites. The first that come to mind are Metal Harbor, Dry Lagoon, City Escape, Meteor Herd, and Route 101.
Yeah... probably because I never actually finished this game myself, I never played some of the later levels. Crazy Gadget in particular got too confusing and I just stopped playing in favor of the GBA games, or the Chao Garden.

yeah, I prefer White Jungle over Green Forest mainly because the color palette is 2 Sets of colors, making everything poop more than just green on green. also, I love misty forests, they have a more supernatural vibe

Oh hell yeah! I love White Jungle a lot, it's one of my favorites!! The music, the visuals, the flow of the level... I can't remember how many times I've played it. It never gets talked about either, which is a shame.

The Mistake you made here was only making this a Top 5 Stages from this game with 32 Stages not counting the 2P Stages. This game was worth doing a Top 20! Also for a fun little cheat I think I'm putting Chao World as the 0th Spot. Honorable mentions include Death Chamber:The largest & most difficult stage that Knuckles has although still fun, Aquatic Mine:Fun stage with an awesome gimmick even if it's not much to look at. Grind Race:Best Level 1 2P Stage, I had a lot of fun playing around on all the statues & running on the pyramid at the start of the stage & I always wondered why it never got adapted into a Stage for Shadow in 1 Player in some epic way. Route 101:Fun Kart Stage, Lost Colony: Interesting concept with 1 of the most fun 2P Battle Stages, & Prison Lane.
20)Sky Rail:Fun Stage, with Shadow having grindrails through the Pumpkin Hill area during broad daylight.
19)Final Chase:Awesome level that for some reason is cut short by 2P Battle, even though the rest of the stage is intact if you can get to it.
18)Cosmic Wall:Eggman's Largest Level with an awesome hover feature & Massive Score Requirements.
17)Iron Gate:Fun introduction to shooting stages.
16)Final Rush:Fun stage with several potential paths you can take & epic chase by debris at the end.
15)Pyramid Cave:Great Music & plenty of spectacle as you infiltrate Eggman's Pyramid.
14)Cannon's Core:Getting to play as 5 Characters in 1 Stage split into 5 Acts was epic.
13)Crazy Gadget:Fun stage with an awesome Gravity Switch Gimmick.
12)Wild Canyon:Such a fun introductory stage for Knuckles with an awesome Last Mission.
11)City Escape:Surprised to see it didn't even reach my Top 10?
10)Security Hall:Rouge breaking into safes is fun & it's awesome that you're hunting for 3 Chaos Emeralds.
9)Sand Ocean:Ok 1st visit is kind of lame, although once you get the ability to hover from Lost Colony it becomes a lot more fun.
8)Dry Lagoon:An elegant 1st Treasure Hunting Stage where the 1st thing you do is help a turtle.
7)Mission Street:Best Tails Stage & my personal favorite of the city stages in Adventure 2.
6)Green Hill:Fun reward for the trouble of getting all 180 Emblems, should have been unlocked in 2P as well.
5)Meteor Herd:The music here is awesome & I never realized it was UK Garage music before. This massive stage is enjoyable to traverse quickly as Knuckles through Drill Dive & taking the rockets up. The meteorites don't fall in 2 Player.
4)Weapon's Bed:Blowing up all the enemies is fun
3)Metal Harbor:This stage was used to promote the game on the GameCube Box in 2002 for good reason. It feels like a beach level even if that beach is made entirely out of metal. Fun stage to play once you've gotten skilled at Sonic's moveset.
2)Pumpkin Hill:You said everything well enough I think.
1)White Jungle:What can I say that you didn't, great music, so much speed that feels good with sheer spectacle. It's too bad it ends early in 2P, although like Final Chase if you somehow were to get to the 1P Parts of the Stage you could play there.

Really thinking about it now, Dry Lagoon is really the only Rouge stage I like. The gimmicks in every other one, including the driving section, just wasn't anywhere close to how enjoyable Knuckles' stages were. And it's a shame, because thematically speaking, her levels made a lot of sense for her character. Just were just... Awful
