Fighters Megamix is hands down my favorite fighting game of all time. I can’t wait to see that episode… I really appreciate you guys for taking the time to chronicle theses games. Getting a Saturn when I was 13 because I was a sega loyalist (fanboy lol) then only being one of two people in my neighborhood to have one made us outcast lol. And as time goes by and memories begin to fade it’s truly great to see there’s people with as much passion for these games as I once had. You guys are greatly appreciated.
And here we are in 2022 in the wake of a 4 hour video about Virtua Cop!
Or rather, a 4 hour video that deep dives into the evolution of Saturn development tools and libraries, framed around Virtua Cop and its release window, because that's how it rolls.
SimCity 2000 really marked the turning point for the depth of the series, as more integration was made with Saturn Shiro and the developer interviews that were made as part of that podcast, because it is really worth noting that its not entirely a one-man show at this point. About 2 dozen people were contributing to the Virtua Cop video behind the scenes, in terms of researching, translating interviews, etc.
PandaMonium's writing and editing keeps everything entertaining and engaging throughout, and with the combined efforts of so many from the 90's Sega and Saturn communities, that's really turned the series into a genuine hidden gem of CZcams and essential viewing for anyone fascinated with the console.

I don't get notified of your videos for some reason, but I really enjoy your videos. Whether that's a pre-planned video or just unscripted thoughts.
Looking back at Sega during the mid-90s looks like self-sabotage from our vantage point, but the details of how developers have handled the company's decision making, which takes all that research from that recommend channel series to fill out, are more interesting than the standard story that we hear.

Also, it’s gonna be a long ways off yet, but re: the potential for the series; at some point, this dude’s gonna talk about the Saturn port of The House of The Dead. Similarly to you with NiGHTS, I’d reckon I know most everything there is to know about it… that’s out there currently. If he keeps the quality of his work up? That could uncover new and supremely interesting stuff, possibly confirm things we assume but don’t know for sure- the works. And I am SO here for that shit lad, holy fuck.

Super cool video. Sega's Dreamcast/Saturn has been a big thing i've really enjoyed looking into. Easily some of my favourites come from those systems. Sadly a Saturn game I like that wasn't ported to North America is Soul Hackers. A spinoff of Shin Megami Tensei. It would later get a port to ps1 in 1999(Jp only) and finally a world wide release on 3ds 15 years after original release.

I'd love to see someone do Saturn videos on RED's output like Sakura Taisen and the Yuna series. The former of which hooked me on strategy RPGs in a way that other games really couldn't capture.
