It's understandable that Americans would place the songs like this... But knowing eurovision, the UK wouldn't be anywhere near top 10 and Iceland or Russia would probably battle it out for the win

European has different artistic approach compared to USA. As an asian, I mostly find europeans as more artistic, while the US is more commercial.

especially with their population, their choices would easily overpower an entire continent.
It would literally be an extremely unfair advantage. sure European countries have their own advantages but with this they literally might as well hand the trophy over to americas first choice if America ever participated straight away.

So, no, the american population wouldn't overwhelm the voting system unless you're considering OFWs, at which point the Eastern Europe bloc would be mostly unaffected anyways. Plus biases already exist in the competition so w/e
They can have a vote and participate. My problem is that knowing Americans, they would either take it way too serious or not pay any respect to it at all. And they would probably demand more than one vote because they have such a big country.

Russia, Iceland and Lithuania is everything we love about Eurovision
A bit disrespectful to show only 8 countries when you have no clue what would be the top 8, top 10 or whatsoever in the actual live contest. I believe all countries or almost all of them have videos (either music videos or of their performances in the national contest) so there's no excuse to discard some of them.
