Very cool demo, I love my PR-D4 and I think it is under-rated. The multiple bandwidths and decent speaker really make it a fun DX'er. Thanks Todd!
I have one of these radios that I use for MW Dxing at night. I was very impressed with its performance. But I noticed that, at night listening to shywave MW, that when I put my hand over the top of the radio, the signal would increase. Needs a longer ferrite rod! So, I had an old junked out SuperRadio 2 that was out of service. I took that 7 incher out of it, removed the coils and temporarily taped it to the back of the Sangean just above that ridge running crossways that houses the smaller ferrite rod antenna. BINGO! Its been there ever since! Its the full length of the radio and enhances the MW even more!

I bought one for my parents who live in the boonies and wanted a long range AM radio, before I gave it to them tested it against my Panasonic RF2200 and it gave it a very close run for its money!

I get better long range daytime AM clarity with the Sangean than the CCrane EP PRO but the antenna fine tuning knob on the CCrane often greatly improves those wavering evening and nighttime signals making them easily understandable. These radios are a great team for using together after hurricanes.

I love this radio. It's like it was designed by a Swede. All of the controls are intuitive, and it is an absolute AM monster.

@@NTPTM I own a Saab, so I am in awe of how the Swedish Engineers know how well things work intuitively. There is no thought as to how you get a device to do something, you just intuitively know it. That is the genius of Swedish design. The same thing is true for this radio. Thus my comment.
@@j.frankparnell6195 Hej Tack for your answer regarding Swedish deisign yes we are a small country but we have many talented designers here. Regarding Saab, they were before their time they were doing a lot of rallying also in the 70's 80's. I think it's a shame that the Saab car brand no longer exists I drove a SAAB 900 GL a bit in the late 80's nice car. I answered a little because I'm Swedish and I usually exchange a few words with Todderbert. Regarding Todderbert CZcams channel, it's great I'm in often here and check and I collect radio devices myself as well take care ha en trevilg dag och en skön trevlig helg.

Weird coincidence was wanting to hear about this Radio today, one of my faves I own. You really need to pick up the wfr-28, it’s the same form factor but a WiFi/fm radio

Your advice please
Have you noticed spurious emissions on FM that trigger the signal meter when no strong signals are present? I found over 33 frequencies not capable of dx reception due to internally generated noise when comparing side by side with the Sangean D19 and other FM portables.
How does it compare in your opinion on AM to the Ccrane CCRadio 2e in regards to pure sensitivity? I know its more selective on it's 1khz filter.
Cool radio Todderbert. I have a question, did the inflation impacted radio prices like at goodwill, a thrift store or a flea market?
Used stuff on ebay has gone up, but flea markets, and thrift stores may still have deals.
