The cam position is wrong mate, them dots on the sprockets should be in the near centre of the windows. Ive got a 3.0t caka and I've done the upper timing chain tensioners and guides with the engine in the car. Nightmare job but had to be done as timing had jumped 1 tooth on the vvt inlet sprocket. Yours seems to be retarded by 1 tooth on booth sprockets or you just needed to rotate your engine back a tiny bit. Either way at the edge of the window you will get some codes for timing being out. How did you managed to do it on the car , i know that's possible but do you need to remove any other parts on the back to get a little bit better access or you just removed covers and was attempting like that ? How long roughly did that take you to do it ?
For the crank rotation as long as the water pump is topside its ok?
