@@RetireandGo To be honest I have thought about it more lately. As you know our country (US) is and can be pretty heavy handed when it comes to it's citizens. What is often referred to as a plan B, having another citizenship or at the least a permanent residence perhaps should be an option. An escape hatch. More Americans are getting second passports and then renoucning their US citizenship. The US is the only county in the world that taxes it's citizens on their world wide income. The only way to get out of the US tax system is to renouce. Anyway, food for thought.
I agree with most of your principles except one. Logically I don't understand how you associated your lack of "freedom of mobility" during the COVID pandemic to your then home country's (USA) lockdown policies. Your beloved SE Asian countries (and most of the world actually) lockdown practices were MUCH WORSE then than in the USA--and had you been living in those countries during that period--you likely would have ironically escaped to the USA seeking your "freedom". We know now that the USA had the most lenient COVID restrictions globally, which probably led to millions of easily avoidable deaths among the immune compromised and elderly.

Fantastic message! Thank you for hitting on such an important topic. I retired about a year and a half ago, largely due to the responses and changes due to the pandemic. So tired of the news, stress, division, etc... Enjoy your Time!
I understand
It became so hard for me to
I had anxiety
I needed a change for my health :-)
Instant gratification+ YOLO = debt (you're owned by the state).
True! Pay off debt, invest for passive income and disconnect from the matrix :-)
Thank you bodhisattva
You are most welcome
Peace and knowledge shall move us forward
The only problem is: SEAsia was just as bad as America during Covid. I almost got stuck in Phuket island for 2 years… I got last flight out. So, we’ve learned nothing as a society from Covid…. They’re chomping at the bite to do it again (Fauci said he’d do the same things in the “next” pandemic. So, freedom is fleeting.
Yeah true
I went to Thai during the lockdown it was crazy haha
dave ramsey is right and im one of his followers
Nice!
I like his chats on debt
Yeah, right on the money. I wonder if truly wealthy people or their heirs have had some version of this freedom all along.
It’s a good question
I wonder if with great wealth you lose some freedom again!
Like needing security and stuff
Thoughts?
@@RetireandGo You absolutely lose some freedom.
Fear of losing your wealth is real- it's called chrometophobia.
Praying For Time.
These are the days of the open hand
They will not be the last
Look around now, these are the days
Of the beggars and the choosers
This is the year of the hungry man
Whose place is in the past
Hand in hand with ignorance
And legitimate excuses
The rich declare themselves poor
And most of us are not sure
If we have too much but we'll take our chances
'Cause God's stopped keeping score
I guess somewhere along the way
He must have let us all out to play
Turned his back and all God's children
Crept out the back door
And it's hard to love, there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope when there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much too much too late
Well maybe we should all be praying for time, oh yeah
These are the days of the empty hand
Oh you hold on to what you can
And charity is a coat
You wear twice a year
This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there
Is over here
So you scream from behind your door
Say what's mine is mine and not yours
I may have too much but I'll take my chances
'Cause God's stopped keeping score
And you cling to the things they sold you
Didn't you cover your eyes when they told you?
That he can't come back
'Cause he has no children to come back for
It's hard to love, there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope when there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much too late
So maybe we should all be praying for time, oh yeah.

@@RetireandGo Id rather be wealthy and anonymous than rich and famous.
@@mpdurham you and me both
@@RetireandGo I don't mean billionaire wealth,...maybe more like family net worth of $20 million or ther abouts. Very very comfortable and they can chose the things they want to do....being more deliberate and not worrying about working.
Unlimited choices to acheive my quantifiable and measuable goals!
Yes!
That is the way
The right mindset
@@RetireandGo My biggest obstacle to freedom was realizing the better quantifiable and measurable outcome is more important than being obedient to who or what i trust or fear.
BTW I speak and understand both Malay and 🇮🇩 Indonesia
Oh! You could apply as a consulate in Malaysia in a heart beat
The US and Malaysia are tight !
@@RetireandGo I’m retired no way Jose! I’m from a US Government family never again . I only go to the US Embassy for passport renewal

Yes, freedom is what I am craving for NOW. Dun hv the freedom to travel as and when I want due to the sickening full-time job that does not pay well. Boss and bosstress are workaholics who dun appreciate employees taking more than 1 week of paid leave. Scumbags! Dun hv the savings to stop working and pursue my passions and hobbies like travelling and taste better affordable food. Hv to care give for a dementia parent that is deterioriating everyday. Sigh...list of unhappy things are endless. I envy you that u are fulfilling your dreams of being a slave to debts and people. I have to work my way through slowly to achieve what you already doing one fine day. Thank you for your sharing.
The world awaits you :-)
Plan and prepare for the next chapter in your life
Enjoy the blessing of each day along the way

To me freedom is not to compromise your integrity.
That being a shitty job, relationship etc...
Well said !
Great video & solid message!! I’m getting out of the “United” States soon!💯💯💯
The world awaits you !
You deserve it
You're doing excellent! Thank you for sharing your astute philosophy. Your video is motivational and inspiring. You bring irrefutable logical arguments that drive liberating change. You are truly Free which I admire. You must be having a great time indeed. I hope to be in the same boat soon. Cheers, my friend! PS: you were right on point, the Russel went nuts right after you posted that video about your stock picks and commodity strategy... great call! I just flattened half of my $SQQQ calls paying for my entire position, the other half is now a freebie for me until Friday's expiration, let's see how much lower we can get on the Nasdaq this week. Cheers, mate! Keep'em coming! 💯👍
You are doing great ! I appreciate the information on your stock moves , great job
You are probably a much more knowledgeable investor than I am.
I buy dividend stocks, growth stocks in another portfolio.
You sound like you understand much more in the markets
@@RetireandGo Thank you for the kind reply. Finance is a vast field and offers many opportunities. Though, trading is a learning journey with ups and downs. I don't invest, especially now when the economy is very shaky and questionable IMO to say the least, so I just trade when I can for now. I'm getting back into investing next year when the markets start to melt down (e.i., hard landing) after the elections most likely. Your videos are my little getaways and I look forward to the next ones. The kind of life you describe in SE Asia sounds so stress-free, what a dream! Can't wait to check out this paradise. Cheers, my friend! Stay safe, stay Free!
I know you didn't but it looked like at 14:03 you were saying to her "come sit right here." 🤣
Haha I’ll have to go look at that
:-)
Have a nice day
Great video! At 3:29, what part of Ubud is this?
There are several day hikes near Ubud center city you can search for in your maps
Plenty to enjoy !
Chris, do you recommend renewing the arrival tourist visa that is issued versus applying for a retirement visa if I plan to stay longer than the initial days allowed? Once I decide where I want to stay on a permanent basis, then I will do the full process for a longer term visa. Keep up your great informative videos. You gained a new subscriber. Enjoy your travels.
@@azspeedster5465 great question
If you are staying in these countries long term for retirement I would look for one year visas or more.
For me, I’m trying to bring variety for the channel so I move around more than most people.
@@RetireandGo Thank you for your response. Yes, I do see that you don’t stay in one place too long. That is a great idea. You are able to expand your exposure to new places and experience different cultures. I have several places in mind in Southeast Asia that are very nice and very affordable to live. I plan to visit these countries then decide on which one would suit me the best. My long range plan is to stay in one country as my home base and then travel to the neighboring countries for the experience. Take care and stay safe. Best regards.
@@azspeedster5465 that sounds like a good plan
Indonesia Thailand and Laos are developing new longer visas
Many options coming :-)
@@RetireandGo Thanks for the info. Take care and safe travels.
What a wonderful video you have made this time. It’s a great topic about freedom that resonates with everyone. I thought Generation Z was lazy and only searching for freedom. They can certainly learn something from your videos. Haha 😂 15:58 😂😂
I hope they invest
Starting in the 20s is awesome
So where do you set up your dividen investments? Can you please do video on how to do that
I use an online brokerage
Set one up this week ok?
Start
Transfer 20 percent of your paycheck every month into it automatically
Spend less and end any subscriptions that prevent that
Focus and move forward :-)
Thank you so much! Pls keep the content coming, its so helpful also love the bali content didnt realize that location was another great option! @@RetireandGo
Buy 1 bitcoin or 0,1 if you can...
And yes, it's on topic 😂😂😂

Yes owning one bitcoin is an idea for sure.
I own Tesla stock and they own Bitcoin
I guess I vicariously own it

So glad you truly find your Freedom. We only live ones , enjoyed to the fullest . My humble opinion is that before Nov the media and this government is going to come again with Covid lockdowns. I pray 🙏 and hope that I can get out of USA 🇺🇸 to a rural area in Panama 🇵🇦 or SE Asia with at least I can live freely and outdoors .🙌🙏🤞🇵🇦🌎🇺🇸😎
You are following your path
Plan, be happy, enjoy every day along the way ok?

I'm curious if you have a second passport (second citizenship). If not, have you thought about it. Thanks...
It’s a good question
I have considered this many times
What are your thoughts
@@RetireandGo To be honest I have thought about it more lately. As you know our country (US) is and can be pretty heavy handed when it comes to it's citizens. What is often referred to as a plan B, having another citizenship or at the least a permanent residence perhaps should be an option. An escape hatch. More Americans are getting second passports and then renoucning their US citizenship. The US is the only county in the world that taxes it's citizens on their world wide income. The only way to get out of the US tax system is to renouce. Anyway, food for thought.
@@tomwest7789 I have thought long term about that as well
I agree with most of your principles except one.
You may be right
I appreciate this feedback
Aloha, So I was living in Kailua beach area, I would walk on the beach a lot, they started using drones to tell you you were not allowed to watch on the beach. I studied and learned that the police only had control to the water, so I would walk in the water and tell them they had no jurisdiction. I had many run inns but in the end they could do nothing but write tickets. Total joke. I am almost out, just waiting on a replacement passport for the one that was stolen. Not to long and I will be following in your foot steps. That soundly creepy, but you know what I meant Cheers!
Oh my gosh
Drones to police people on the beach ?
This is not right
The US is like a police state in some ways
Great video
Thank you so much :-)
