- The new Creality K1C is an evolution of the K1, has it improved upon the issues plaguing the original K1? Was the printer released too early without fully testing? Should you upgrade to a Bambu instead?

Printer features:
The Creality K1C is a high-performance 3D printer designed for enthusiasts and professionals. Here are some key features:
Core XY Design: The K1C utilizes an advanced Core XY motion system, allowing for precise and fast printing.
Speedy Printing: With a maximum print speed of up to 600mm/s, it’s ideal for projects that require efficiency.
PEI Build Plate: The printer comes equipped with a PEI build surface, ensuring good adhesion and easy removal of prints.
Carbon Fiber Compatibility: The “C” in K1C stands for carbon fiber. It features an upgraded, hardened steel nozzle capable of maintaining a temperature of 300°C. This enables reliable printing of abrasive carbon-fiber-infused filaments like PLA-CF and PETG-CF, as well as high-temperature materials like ASA and PC1.
All-Metal Extruder: The K1C boasts an all-metal extruder kit with 1000 hours of clog-free extrusion. The extruder’s tight grip on filament prevents slackening off, and the integrated “Unicorn” nozzle with a heat break minimizes heat creep2.

From what I watched on the live stream, yes I would just send it back. My K1 and K1C worked great out of the box but not everyone gets that lucky.
Keep up the great work and thanks
I am in no way a creality apologist. sometimes they screw up, but to break down your issues encountered with the k1C (after building quite a bit of experience with the k1 max which is very similar in construction):
1. bed isn't level. this SHOULD be done at the factory, but they have loose qc tolerances for this. I agree that this should be fixed, BUT they do have the video that you showed with how to fix it. I had to do the exact same procedure on my k1 max and I was able to get a range of within 0.346 on my k1 max (which on a 300^2 bed is actually pretty good imo).
2. build plate concerns: you state that you won't be using the build plate because it isn't up to your standards because it requires glue. the build plate is simply smooth pei (at least on the k1 max and it looks the same on the k1 and i think the k1c. my guide says to use glue as well, I almost never do unless i'm having specific adhesion issues which are super rare and typically model specific (and can also be solved with a brim most of the time). i'll also note that the p1s and x1c also include smooth pei plates that say to use glue, again, I rarely do because they stick just fine to the smooth pei (and i really like the finish of smooth pei). in fact, I find that the smooth pei sticks way better (without glue) than the PEX plates (which i typically only use for the custom finishes) and the only thing i really have to look out for is getting finger oils on the plate, which can be easily cleaned off with a good dish soap like dawn every so often or if there are adhesion issues.
3. tophat instability. no idea what's going on here. the k1 max uses a flat top glass (which I will be printing an extended tophat for because the boden tube squishes against it at a bad angle and the cable chain very lightly rubs against the top rod which i don't like, so i'm going to also print a cable chain connection extension to raise it up a little bit. this is why the new k1 models and k1c models have a plastic riser (it was a cheap fix, and yes, it was an afterthought. they should certainly work on these tolerances)
4. loading procedure. you do NOT open the extruder gears with the lever when loading filament. you just push filament all the way down until it touches the gears and run the load filament macro, the gears engage with the filament and pulls it through (in my experience consistently).
when rooted, you can get either fluidd or mainsail (I personally prefer mainsail). I installed KAMP on mine to get more control over where it meshes for higher accuracy smaller prints (and also makes meshing take less time)
I've tried their leveling guide a few times, and because I threw away the screws, I can't follow it completely; but it always levels exactly as it came. I'm expecting this method is not going to work on every machine, and is quite the pain considering how easy it is to level a Bambu X1C bed.
One of the things about the Creality printers that's strange is their slicer Creality Print does not support color changes. I've been able to implement manual filament change pauses in Cura but not in Creality Print slicer and even Creality support says it will be available in an upcoming release of their slicer. I believe you can use the Orca slicer for the K1, not posative about the K1C but that I know supports color changes.
I have listened to your adverse comments. Have you approached the company and are they willing to correct all the faults
Hey zombie. Afternoon all from texas
Pull the ptfe tube out of the drag chain and print some clips to attach it to the outside of the chain the tube make the chain to stiff.
Can you put the co print on ender 3 v3 se
Possibly, it looks like it uses a somewhat standard gantry
My K1 and K1 MAX review units (updated versions of hardware) both had a horrible extrusion problem, maybe not as bad as yours but clearly worse than what you should expect from a proper extrusion system. I temporarily made a mod with the Orbiter V2 and it fixed the issue. But that is the only issue among the multiple others that makes the K1 series so bad. I bet if everyone would run the tests I run the exact same way they would get identically bad results. I am so disappointed with Creality as for such a big company making so many wrong engineering design decisions is just unacceptable. It feels like they are following their previous trend of releasing the same printer with few upgrades and calling it a day, rather than taking time to design a good 3D printer and supporting it. :/
The bed is 220x220x220
the actual bed is 235x235 but only 220 usable, and 250 z height
Damn, I'm happy I got a P1S, it cost more, but just seems sooo much better!
I'm very happy with my P1S so far. With the AMS it's definitely the best combo under $1000
Warum der Klebestift, absolut unnötig bei PLA!
its 50% cheaper xD
Creality are a terrible company.
Happy with my new K1C
