      Saw your video on the marketing of the K1C -- correct me if I am wrong, but the reason you want all metal extruder is due to the abrasive nature of carbon filaments. To me as long as you've got all metal components that touch the filament -- that to me is fine, that's what I'd expect from an all metal extruder.

  • @Dragonspawn666
    @Dragonspawn666 Před 2 měsíci +2

    I have both the K1C and the Bambu Labs P1S. The K1C is a good printer. Fast with decent quality. In my opinion, the P1S is just a better printer. Better quality prints on the P1S, roughly the same speeds, and an option for the AMS. The price of the replacement parts are very reasonable for the P1S. Good luck finding parts for the K1C. The unicorn nozzle is ridiculously expensive. I also had a really bad experience with the customer service at Creality when purchasing my K1C. When I got my P1S, I was up and running in 15-20 minutes and it hasn't stopped since. the first thing that happen when I took my K1C out of the box is I got a clogged nozzle. I have not had another clog since then so, maybe something was left in the nozzle from the factory? I don't know. It has been a good printer for me and I would recommend it to anyone, but between the two, I choose P1S everyday and 3 times on Sunday. it is just better in just about every way I can think of. You will have to decide whether it is worth the extra money for the P1S.

    When It came time to buy one of the new super fast 3D printers I did not even consider the K1 , I had previously bought seven Creality 3D printers and all had problems that Creality never fixed, in fact in the case of the Ender 5 Plus they made it worse with an update, I bought a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon and am so glad I did, the K1 was riddled with issues and I have forgotten how many redisgns of the extruder they went through and I believe they still have not fixed the warped bed issue!

    17:50 What didn't you use? A brim? What's that? Edit: answering myself, a brim is a 3D printed border that extends from the edges of the 3D printed part. Unlike a skirt, the brim is actually connected to the 3D printed part, effectively giving it a greater surface area to adhere to the print bed. Unlike a raft, the brim does not go underneath the 3D printed part's first layer.

    The P1S has a bigger build plate and is very quiet after the noise cancellation firmware upgrade. Bambu has AMS, has a much better reliability profile which the K1C will have to overcome. Bambu has a much better slicer, although the Creality one isn't terrible. I recently bought the K1 Max, so I'm not a hater, but calling the K1C better than the P1S is a stretch. It's not even better than the A1 except being a bit faster, open source and enclosed. The A1 is far more polished and sophisticated, plus it also has the AMS (a better version). Just keeping it real, brother.

      @@blue-steel7177 it's definitely less expensive, and that's not nothing. I'm sorry you got one of the older ones, but Creality continues to beta test with buyers, which is not really cool. Hope you get satisfaction by getting your K1 problems straightened out. I think my new K1 Max has the new hot end. I'm replacing it with the Micro Swiss in any case. I've had it about a week, but it's been very solid (after some initial challenges) so I haven't bothered to swap out the hot end yet.

    It's a decent printer at best. Needs aftermarket parts to get good. No different than the K1 or K1 Max. Bambu makes a stellar product which I am a fan of. The other company that makes a really good unit, needs a little tweaking, is Qidi. Their printers with the heated chambers and 350 degree hot end are WONDERFUL for ABS, ASA, PA12-CF and the like.

      The K1 series prints good quality prints stock. If you add aftermarket parts, it’s out of want and not necessity. Same for Bambu, aftermarket parts are on the market, but you don’t need them.
      Qidi had to re-release the Max 3 because it had so many issues including fried main boards. Not heard much bad about the last release, just reviews. It’s no better or worse than the other two based on reviews.

    That dosnt look "better than bambu". What makes the bambu "next gen" is not that they can heat 10° more or are 5% faster oder have 10% more build volume or a bit better hardened extruder. The problem with printers for a long time now is, that you constantly have to try, to fiddle, to tweak. Bit more temp, bit less retract, bit more flow,another nozzle, why does Z wobble, why is the printbed uneven, this filament dosnt work for me, maybe this, maybe that. The bambu ends that. Your order is "print that with abs" you press play and .. it does.
    The Creality is a quite ok "cheap clone" of an core xy bambu, and it does ,what was the problem all the time it is "giving problems" Not long after launch already mixed reviews and a new revision is sold and people start changing this and that and optimizing it. I am done with that i am not keen for another science project i just want to print. Bambu does that.

      This is a perfect example of why the Bambu Lab printers are preferred - the constant fiddling, testing, troubleshooting and experimenting on most 3D printers is frustrating. I love my Bambu Lab's printer too for being able to simply print something with default settings. But your description of the problems tied to 3D printing is dead-on accurate - not everyone wants to constantly fuss with these printers despite what most die-hard enthusiasts (and reviewers) assume.

The list of reasons is large and not going to bother listing them here. But one example and you didn't really cover it in your review but the Bamboo is dead simple to repair, not that it needs to be worked on very often, if a problem arises and the parts are dirt cheap. My k1 had the big feet, honestly underwhelming product, the new hotend is a back step, certainly considering not even chep can get a spare. 😢

      I have seen the teardown however something does not add up as Creality are clearly stating it’s all metal. I have a feeling that unit that Vector 3D had was not right.

    I don't know if you can call this 'better' than the P1S. The P1S has a significantly larger builder volume and multiple colour/material support (AMS). Bambu printers are more expensive however.

    • @aldimore
      @aldimore Před 5 měsíci +2

      If your comparing this to a BL P1S without AMS, its only $150 more. Personally I feel the ability to have up to 16 spools available for multicolor prints, the P1S seems like the better choice.

      There are many things better on the K1C though. The carbon capability, the camera, the local printing mode is much better. OS and Rootable. It’s all down to what you need.

    There is a easily changeable nozzle? 😂 You should have opened it and check yourself instead of showing the images from the website which are far from real. My K1C has a fully screwed proprietary nozzle which can’t be changed without tools. That’s a real backstep from the volcano nozzles of the regular K1.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Před 5 měsíci

      It’s a bolt off full piece as shown . It’s not exactly hard, neither I or Crealty said toolless. The Bambu has the “toolless” change but that’s got its quirks. Hell even Revo needed something to grip it at times.

      @@MadRCCreality said „one handed quick swap“ and all images are far from real. Other channels are also confused about this nozzle and tried to „quick swap“ in vain. The new K1C is nice, but the nozzle is a real disappointment for all people who need to change often between 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 nozzles like me. Just be careful not to run carbon fiber filament in the carbon fiber printer since it snaps in the tube and if you don’t notice it might heat creep and mess up your nozzle like in Nathan Builds Robots review 😂

    • @gaxon1920
      @gaxon1920 Před 5 měsíci

      I saw that video before this one. I don’t think that’s what caused the creep. It’s direct drive, it would have kept pulling the filament past the break.
      If he had AI on, it would have stopped the print when it detected air printing.
      I think he had some wet filament.

    • @hicamajig
      @hicamajig Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@gaxon1920he used CF Nylon which is just very rigid and maybe the melt zone is long so the filament was past the gears. Creality is kinda known for rushing printers out and then iterating with fixes so likely will be able to handle it properly if you buy in a few months after launch lol

      Slicer has improved a lot in the past year. Still not as good as Orca or Prusa Slicer.
      All the new printers come with the new extruder and hotend.
