Haven’t seen a game he performed well in yet. Mediocre yes average maybe but he’s never once put a solid clean game up. He’s just a starter for lack of other talent lmao.

I think it's a numbers thing. There's only 1 kicker per team in the NFL and 32 teams, with also very few openings to replace kickers who are already on the roster. Since if a team is even moderately satisfies with a kickers performance, they tend to just stick with the kicker instead of taking a risk on someone else (devil you know and all that). Kickers also have much longer careers than most other positions in the NFL. This further reduces the number of available NFL kicker positions available, versus the amount of talent that is out there.
Even if we assumed NFL kickers were the 32 best players at that position in the world (Which is pretty unlikely). It would mean that at a minimum, the UFL would have access to kicking talent from the 33rd Best kicker in the world, and down. Since teams don't really get rid of kickers unless they are really starting to stink it up, there are likely quite a few kickers who are actually better than NFL kickers, but just didn't get the opportunity for whatever reason. I mean we've already seen it once with Brandon Aubrey and the Cowboys.
These factors combined are the reason I think the level of kicking talent in the UFL is so high. Basically the NFL employs far fewer of the top talent at that position. Compared to a position like CB or Linebacker. Where each team has far more depth. For CB teams have ~7 or more on the depth chart, and then once you account for practice squad players that number grows even larger. So the level of talent available outside the NFL is much lower, and also even the talent available likely degrades in quality pretty quickly since that position is so depended on top tier athleticism and youth. Unlike Kicking talent, where physical attributes and top tier athleticism are far less necessary, and what athletic traits are required don't degrade anywhere near as quickly. Having a 40 yard old NFL kicker doesn't seem too crazy, but a 40 year old CB is just ridiculous.
*TL;DR*
- *Very few open kicking positions in NFL compared to the size of the talent pool*
- Kicking Talent isn't dependent to top tier athletic traits which degrade quickly with age (which increases the talent pool available even more)
- *You can get a Top 40 player at the position who still isn't in the NFL*
- With most other positions a Top 40 player at that position is in the NFL and probably a starter
- Kickers can play for a really long time in the NFL further reducing the number of available openings
- Teams would rather stick with a mediocre kicker than take a risk on someone new (another factor reducing the number of available roster spots)

That Ta'amu touchdown pass to B. Smith was excellent. I was screaming at my TV that it was a touchdown when the refs said that it was an incomplete pass. Thank God it got overturned. 😂😂😂😂

It used to be 4th and 15 and they changed it because they wanted it to be a successful attempt more often for the entertainment I think. 4th and 15 is still better imo I don’t think they should have changed it
I for one think it should be 4th and 20. I don’t think you should reward a team that’s playing behind because they’ve been playing poorly all game. Sure it’s more exciting but I don’t like that the inferior team can win more often than not

it’s pretty close though, arlington controlled this game until the 2 minute drill in the 4th. it was a choke worthy of miami against the titans last fall, and i think atlanta would be proud
These UFL games are really great so far. The things the league can control are perfecto from what I can see. Now we just need people to tune in.

Russolino kicked a 37-yard field goal. The people who do the highlights are consistently horrible at capturing special teams play.

I really don’t like the 4th and 12 rule. It’s just too easy to get and I don’t think the losing team should get that easy of an opportunity because they played so poorly throughout the rest of the game

agreed. Especially since when it comes to the level of play, the secondaries seem to be one of the weakest in terms of quality relative to the NFL. I think it's a numbers thing, which also explains the why the UFL Kickers and QB's perform so well. I mean we've already seen it once with Brandon Aubrey and the Cowboys. The same principal applies with QB's because of how few there are in the NFL (even counting backups).

If 4th and 12 was so easy they wouldn’t be in a position to need to go for the 4th and 12 in the first place. 4th and 12 is far from easy. It allows for teams to use skill and scheme instead of relying on less than a 1% shot.

We’ve now seen it been used twice for teams to have come from behind wins in games where they each played like the inferior team. Especially the Brahmas last week. The showboats played like the better team almost the entirety of the game and the brahmas only one because they were gifted the chance at another possession because they played so poorly

@thabruhfrom9444 DC secondary needs to run interception drills or go over some WRs drills cause the amount of drops was atrocious. Should have had a couple of INTs.

They really have to change the "Onside Try" rule. 4th and 12 seems to be too easy! Maybe a 4th and 15?
Its hard to make a first down with 4 downs. 4th and 12 is hard. Need a receiver to get open and the QB has to throw a dart. Some teams will convert it and some will not. Don't want it to be too hard to where it favors the team who is leading.
