    This video guided me to be able to replace a keyboard after a rum spillage on it which rendered the power button non-useable. It's the first time I've removed a motherboard. I discovered that about half the screws from the keyboard were missing as well as a few others. So glad this is still possible on a machine that has never had the battery replaced and still runs for hours, had only a ribbon cable for hard drive, RAM and hard drive replacement. I also thought for years that the wifi is inoperable, but discovered it was only plugged in part of the way. Now it works again. Thanks for your help. I really don't want a new Mac.

    Thank you a lot for this comhrehensive guide! Have revived my old Macbook with ease. It took me like 30 minutes to put those keyboard and backlight cables in place tho. Such a weird design!

      Yes, Apple makes them very proprietary.

    You don’t mention to remove the right WiFi bracket so that you can remove the microphone. As well as don’t mention anything about removing the power button (which has a silver spacer/ring) that’s important.

      +Fernando Gnoato Bottini yes it's different but will work just fine.

  • @illusionclassicrock6742

    Is the Mid-2009 the same? Also, is there only one speaker? I'd probably replace my speaker and keyboard at the same time. Aside from the 3 long philips head screws on the cover, are all the screws the same? Or do they all need to be kept separate during removal and installation?

      @GRIBSOFT  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, mid 2009 13" is the same.There are two speakers, one on top of the dvd drive and one under the right side of the logicboard once you lift it up. The 7 short screws out of the 10 that secure the cover are exactly the same.

    Hi, I have a late 2011 macbook pro 13' with a few keys missing on the keyboard. Found a used 2009 MBpro 13' replacement carcass that includes a keyboard. Can I install the 2009 keyboard on the 2011 macbook? Thanks in advance for the help!

    Is this the same principle for the a1342 unibody keyboard replacement?
    And am I right in saying the keyboard for the a1278 fits the a1342?

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  Před 8 lety +1

      Unfortunately not. For that model, you have to replace the entire lower case, because the keyboard is glued and screwed in permanently :(
