A great video. I especially appreciated that you didn't end it with "Reassembly is the reverse of taking it apart" as so many others do. Seeing your hints and struggles with cables was a great help. My new keyboard and touchpad are working great and next I am going to replace the battery to see if I can get a few more years out of this good old laptop. I will have a look at your other videos.
It's my pleasure my friend.
thank you for your support 🍻
Should you have any questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
The screws holding the bottom cover are slightly angled. Putting them in straight down (as you would expect) risks cross threading them. Be careful turn the screw backwards until you feel it click then turn forward. Any tightness means it’s probably going to cross thread. Be careful.
i do agree with you on that, the easy way to get the correct alignment on threads are by do one or two counter clock twist then you will fill the click when the start of the threads are aligned and then it will screw in in the correct angle.
thank you for the feedback
Awesome video,a lot screws removed.Thank you very much

Torx keys are deceptive because one size too small will feel like it fits. However it’s likely to damage the screw head. I always try the next one up. If it fits, you’ll know it’s the correct key. If it’s too big, you’ll know the first key was correct.
yes absolutely we always do that when we try to get the right fit screw for laptops. always step up and step down on screws.
thank you for the feed back my friend.
cheers🍻

It’s complicated but doable. My big takeaway was finding out how to disconnect the plugs from the board. They are not consistent and all too easy to damage if pushed or pulled the wrong way.
Fantastic

I've been looking for a good quality keyboard replacement. It's hard to find a good one in the European Portuguese layout.
As such I'm willing to get the best vertical enter key replacement and swap out whatever keys I need to replicate the layout.
Do you know of a good brand that's close or equal do OEM keyboards?
