  • This video shows the steps required to debadge the factory emblems on a fourth generation Mazda MX-5 Miata (2016+ - including ND1, ND2, ND3, soft top and/or RF variants). This video uses the factory Skyactive G badge as the primary example, but the steps taken will also apply to the other ND Miata badges. Because the factory badges have pinholes, it id not recommended to simply remove the factory badges without requiring significant bodywork to fill the pinholes. Instead, I preferred to replace the Skyactive G badge with a more attractive badge of my choosing to cover the holes - the JDM "Roadster" badge (genuine Mazda part number N243-51-721). While I know this badge normally goes in place of the MX-5 badge in other markets, I decided to intentionally place it in lieu of the Skyactive G badge (and still retain the MX-5) badge. The specific car in this video is a 2020 MX-5 RF Grand Touring.
Personally, I am very satisfied with the end result. It looks very factory-esque, in my opinion. While I'm a huge fan of the Skyactive motor, I feel Mazda overdid the badging on this generation MX-5. I found my genuine Mazda badge on eBay (new), but I'm sure there are plenty of places you can find the exact badge used in the video.
