      I don't have the bike anymore to check unfortunately, however I would very carefully test out some different metric bolts until you've found the right one. @@SeanStettnichs My bad I should have said. The rear foot break lever.

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před 5 měsíci

      @@Shulxz No worries at all - just wanted to clarify which one you were referring to. I don't currently have a KLX110 in the garage to look for sure, but I don't think the stock rear brake lever has an adjustable height. The only way you can "adust" the rear brakes are by turning the wingnut (or standard nut) at the end of the long rod connected to the rear brake lever. This is how you adjust the rear brake shoes/drum which in turn may slightly adjust the height of the lever. Alternatively, they do sell "adjustable" rear brake levers/rods which would allow you to change the height of the rear brake lever without necessarily adjusting the shoes/drum itself. I think this may be what you're after, but first I would start with adjusting the stock lever/rod to ensure your rear brake is working properly. That may help you out as a starting point before needing to buy an adjustable lever/rod. Here's an example video I made for a Yamaha, but it should be similar for your KLX110: czcams.com/video/A3-YU8baX9s/video.htmlsi=TTOAmVN6rGvSH1ag I hope this helps!

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před 5 měsíci

      @@Shulxz No worries at all - thanks for clarifying. I don't have a video specifically made for the KLX110 rear brake lever adjustment; however, the steps in this video for the TTR125 should be very similar for adjusting the rear brake drum/shoes. Now, if you feel your rear brake drum/shoes are properly adjusted (you like the feel; they are providing enough stopping power), but you would still like to adjust your rear brake foot lever height, you need to first see if it's adjustable. I'm worried it may not be adjustable from the factory. In the above video, you can see there are four little holes where the foot brake lever connects to the rod. In my video, the rod is connected at the highest point. If you have an adjustable lever, you can try moving the rod's mounting point to one of the other holes to see if that gives you a better rear brake lever height. If you do not have any other mounting points for the rod to connect to, than it's likely the stock rear brake lever is not adjustable on the KLX110. You could always consider buying an adjustable rear brake lever assembly, which should allow for multiple adjustment settings. Otherwise, first start by making sure the shoes/drum are properly adjusted (by following the steps in this video for the TTR125) as it's always good to have the rear brake adjusted properly anyway AND it may also slightly adjust the height of your rear brake lever as well. Not sure if this is the info you wanted to hear, but unfortunately you might have to buy a different rear brake lever assembly to make it fully adjustable like you're looking for. Either way, I hope this helps!

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před 7 měsíci

      Yes, I would start by seeing if you can get free play by adjusting the throttle cable (you'll need to shorten the cable instead of lengthening it - this video shows lengthening it). If adjustment doesn't seem to "loosen" or spring back the throttle tube, then I would disassemble the throttle tube assembly itself. It's very possible there is dirt or debris in the throttle tube (or under it - between the tube and the handlebar). That debris can cause the symptom of a "sticky" throttle as you are explaining. Once it's properly adjusted and cleaned up, it should snap back on its own. Good luck to you!

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před 8 měsíci

      The clutch cable can be adjusted in two locations - at the handlebar and down by the clutch cover as well. Try to adjust the clutch at the clutch cover as well (follow the cable to find it). If you can't get the clutch to grab after fully adjusting it at both the cover and the handlebar, it is likely you have a bigger issue such as a completely worn clutch.

    Thank you! Quick question, I have a ttr110 for my daughter, the throttle snaps back in all positions except when the wheel is turned hard left, then it sticks. Is there an adjustment for the return tension, or could not be something like a pinched/worm cable? Thanks

    • @SeanStettnichs

      Great question! My best bet is the cable is pulling when the bars are turned far left. Check the cable tension when when far to the left and see if you can route the cable in such a way that it has as much slack as possible, regardless if the bars are turned far left or right.

      I would consider upgrading to aftermarket bars as my top recommendation. If you're set on using the stock bars, then I would drill out the hole with a drill bit designed for metal, slowing working up in drill bit size until you have a large enough hole for the Acerbis bar end inserts.

      Glad to help! I can tell you in my experience I've never had an issue running the K&N air filter oil on foam filters. Just like engine oil or tire preferences, everyone will have a different opinion. Some say use foam filter oil only, others say use engine oil, etc. In my opinion, if you're regularly cleaning and oiling your air filter you'll be further ahead than most, regardless of what oil you use. If you plan on taking a long trip in very dusty conditions, foam filter specific oil may not be a bad idea to use as it is thicker than the K&N stuff. At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference and the conditions you ride in!

      Your wingnut doesn't spin? If that's the case I would try some sort of penetrating oil (PB Blaster, for example) to work it loose.

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před rokem

      Sorry, but I didn't buy them myself. They came with the bike when I purchased it. Most powersports dealers / online retailers have a variety of hand guards. They're very rarely specific to any motorcycle, so most styles should work.

      @@SeanStettnichsHey man, first bike I've ever had. When I'm running the bike and go full throttle the bike just like stalls completely. I have to rife at like 3/4 throttle pull. Any advice? Going to check Air filter and I guess look up videos on jetting?

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před 8 měsíci

      Hi @@sluggy1, checking your air filter is regular maintenance, so that's a great place to start. Clean and oil it if it's reusable, otherwise replace it (make sure to oil the replacement if it's not pre-oiled). While it's good to start with the air filter, you likely have a bigger issue. Make sure the bike has good fuel (drain old fuel from carb and tank if it's been sitting awhile). The carburetor would be the next place to start in my opinion, especially if the bike had been sitting. I would start by cleaning the carb, then see if the air/fuel screw needs to be adjusted, then change the jetting if needed.

    • @sluggy1
      @sluggy1 Před 8 měsíci

      @@SeanStettnichs can't believe the quick response. Hah I'm literally sitting with the carb open in my hands. I mean things look ok.. but this I'd literally my first time with a bike. it came with a carb rebuild kit so I may just change it while I'm here. The air filter was basically spotless so.

    Maybe i'm missing something but what is the whole reason behind this modification? I have a Street Triple 2009.

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před rokem

      From my research, the main reasons to make this modification are for minimal weight savings, to eliminate the possibility of a CEL (check engine light) due to its malfunction, to partially eliminate "popping" noises associated with deceleration (though this has more to do with proper air/fuel mapping, in my opinion), and to help with performance tuning (if you have the SAI system putting a bunch of extra air into the exhaust, then it may throw off your oxygen sensor reading when doing air/fuel tuning on the dyno). There's many opinions on whether this modification is necessary or worth it; some people believe there is no point to remove it, others believe it should always be removed. In my experience, I didn't notice any major performance differences associated with removing this system.

    Good video just got a 2008 street triple 675 . It's my first bike changing all the fluids my self . Idk what to do first take the old gas out first or the coolant. Or the oil lol

    • @SeanStettnichs
      @SeanStettnichs Před 2 lety

      Glad to hear you've joined the Triumph clan! They are excellent bikes. If you have concerns the fuel might be bad, I would start with that first. If you don't think the fuel is actually bad, you can simply skip that step by running/riding the bike. Then the fuel will take care of itself. 😀 I would change the coolant next and then do the oil change last. Then when you're warming the bike up for the oil change you will have fresh fuel and coolant. Another thing to consider is changing the brake fluid. Brake fluid can also breakdown over time. All in all, once the oil change is done, you'll be ready to go! Good luck!
