- The first major tournament using the Regulation F ruleset just concluded and the winning team features ENTEI! Entei is an incredible pick in VGC right now, especially thanks to Inner Focus and Sacred Fire. When paired with Pokemon like Ogerpon Wellspring and Chien Pao in particular, it can really disrupt opposing teams. The winning team features the classic Choice Band Dragonite and Chien Pao combination as well as Flutter Mane, Raging Bolt, and Wellspring Ogerpon.

yeah aron, i believe you when you say you get more burns with sacred fire than will-o :(
we all know the feeling in his voice lol
Missed 3 willo's in a row just yesterday... I just started laughing in rage like that scence where walter white is under the house looking for his money :'D
Anything under 90% accuracy may as well be 0% for me... lol
the chad sacred straight fire vs. the loser will-o-miss
@@subzero212 its still crazy that to me that the best move most rock types have is stone edge. even with iron boulder and ogerpon geting 100% attacks they dont see any use
That will-o-wisp joke had layers to it. That my friend is gold. I also laughed harder than I should have.
Another amazing video as always while breaking everything down very well.
I could hear the helicopter blades spinning above and the faint sound of Fortunate Sun off in the distance
would you be able to time stamp it in the video for me? I missed it

Entei looks like itll be unruly in this reg. Its a nice halfway point between h-arcanine and dragonite.
Always cool seeing older gen mons being able to keep up with powercreep.
Iirc, it was the second most used Fire type in the last regional behind Incineroar. Who would’ve guessed having an ability that makes you good into the meta Fire type is really good.
Shoutout to Dragonite, being an irreplaceable Pokemon among all of the Legends and Paradox mons in the format. That said...
I really wish the power creep of SV VGC wasn't so fast. So many cool pokemon didn't get a chance to shine in their debut generation. That sucks.
Yeah I wish the earlier formats would’ve lasted longer than they did for sure.
THANK YOU^^^ so very true
The perfect start to a sick day, some Road to Ranked featuring amazing content creator Aaron ‘Cybertron’ Zheng! Thanks for always adding a smile to my face and an hour (or more) of enjoyment to my day!!
And providing live commentary as he goes!
I love these really long videos with teams Aaron. It just provides a more in depth analysis of the team and thus enjoyable content for myself. In just 3 games it’s truly hard to grasp how to adequately pilot a team against multiple opponents and/or teams.
Thanks for the showcase! Not used to piloting Chien-pao cores so it's nice to see this showcase and glad you went over the weaknesses since I also find myself struggling with Trick Room teams and opposing speed control teams. Still a great team to watch out for and learn.
QOTD: Off-meta teams, often Hard Trick Room, has been tough to fight especially with a bulky Farigiraf and Ursaluna-Bloodmoon. Dondozo-Tatsugiri cores can also be a struggle when my team doesn't have a particular answer to it.
Love the reporting on the VGC tournaments, great way to start my work day.
Entei is one of my all-time fave Pokémon, so happy to see it do well!
Man this team was so good during that tourney run. I liked seeing Raging Bolt and Entei shine since they were "fresh" to the meta.
QOTD: Archaludon can be so tough if you dont have the right special attacker or a big enough hitter to get it gone in 2 hits before its boosts stack up
QOTD: So far, I've struggled to deal with Ogerpon Wellspring. The team I'm renting to start the season has a lot of Water Tera options, so Ogerpon-W has a pretty comfortable time coming in and putting pressure on my team with Horn Leech. It's probably a skill issue, though, because I often find myself in positions where I leave the Pokemon that can stand up to it on the bench. All part of the learning process!
I like how the Pokemon are named after the teams from the finals
I knew I recognized the names
I just noticed that and I found it so hilarious lol
I chuckled at 28:04 because of this.
@3:20 I love that you still embrace the will-o-wisp memes after all these years lol.
Great vid, Aaron! I was hoping to find this team
Cool cool cool, I've been waiting for quite a long time for an Entei + Raging Bolt-combo team. I will use this team to climb ladder🥰
Really glad for Entei to be in a format where it can shine! So good! Saw the match of Alex Underhill and was really great!
And for the QOTD: I think that Latias is not easy to get rid off. Maybe it's just my team, but the combination of a bulky mon that loweres your spatk while hitting hard is not to scoff at. Yes - you do have fluttermane but after a tailwind it's often to risky for it to face it face first. But there is a ton of strong Pokémon right now.
In the finals dondozo one shot the flutter twice and it caught you off guard. Gave me a chuckle as i assumed you'd have watched the finals. Nice vids
Man game 3 was so intense. Really exciting to watch and absolutly intense.
I used to play this Entei on last generation, can counter easly Incineroar and is a THKO on Zacian, solid vs Special Attack and can fight Amongous... The perfect Pokemon.
The pokemons being called as The Finals' squad names is a cheeky one 😂
How did I not realize that lol
I love the Finals team names on the showdown teambuilder pokemon!
It was really cool to see Alex win this one, really cool team, great play and Tub Takes is a great resource
That registeel crit was literally brutal
Lmaooo not the Pokémon nicknamed after team games from The Finals 🤣 great video as usual though! Perfect for future vgc draft league prep 🫡
I tried to play different but you knew my moves, and the strategy so GG
I played against you yesterday, I was using the Rampardos TR team, GG!
Entei winning a regionals in VGC was not on my 2024 bingo card. Needless to say its about time Entei got some spotlight, it was always in the shadows of Raikou and Suicune.
Another amazing Showcase 👏 🙌
I love your videos and I'm waiting always when it's a new one ❤
I love seeing new team cores do well. Just shows how vgc evolves as the seasons pass
That game 7 was crazy also that registeel game
Dang, I didn't make it in the video. GG sir I was the player with the stellar Terra'd feazandipiti. I also got lucky with that sludge bomb crit
In that match you lost, I would’ve done Ice Spinner into Tatsugiri and Thunderclap into Dondozo, rather than Sucker Punch into it. Then in the next turn you could’ve done sucker punch tatsugiri to finish it off and Draco meteor into dragonite. That could’ve helped get the win for your team.
These were some really good games
Hey Aaron! Was wondering if you could add a "pace" criteria, explaining how many turns you expect to finish a game (team dependent) and what are good signs to notice impatience. Thanks for getting me into vgc!
I love entei great to see my favorite pokemon
Everytime Aaron drops I get paired against multiple players using the team he most recently showcased 😅 good thing he does a breakdown of the teams movesets and held items
Awww I didn't make the cut, played against you the other day using this team.
I was using weezing and managed to just squeak out the win. Was such a good game!
Nearly an hour and a half worth of content? Let's goooo
Hey Aaron! I just battled you! Good game man, didn’t believe I’ve won haha. I hope that you make a video of it. Would be awesome.
Greetings!
YOOO im the guy on Game 5 I was so happy to be able to play with u good games :)
QotD: Trick room + psyspam is scaring me because too many people are using it at the top of the Best of 3 Ladder in pokemon showdown
I feel like there will be more trick room in Charlotte especially if it top cut Portland
entei winning anything is insane
QOTD: Primarina has been hard to fight against because of that unique ability + type
I love how I used that team on showdown randomly didn’t know he had it
the deal with the fluttermanes is:
1) if you see a booster energy SP ATT one you at the very least speed tie but most likely outspeed
2) if is not booster and it is specs or focus sash they probably outspeed cause the normal specs flutter is always EVed to outspeed adamant Chien Pao, hence why you have jolly Pao to 1v1 opposing flutters with ice spinner plus sucker punch
3) if its booster speed it always outpaces you.
Looks like you burned yourself with that sacred fire! Lighting has you looking orange lol.
Great vid as always, love your work
wow mr. underhill really named all the team members after teams from the finals
Damn, looks like I should keep working on my ribbon master entei then before this regulation ends lmao
Aaron Cybertron Zheng, what is your opinion on the move quash?
always a good day when you wake up to a new cybertron video
57:40 Given how much damage Registeel did to Entei, it was at least 244+ Def AND got the highest roll with Body Press, +2 244+ Def Registeel Body Press vs. 68 HP / 20 Def Entei: 124-146 (62.3 - 73.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO. The calcs are the same as if it had 252+, still a 93.8% chance to OHKO with the crit into Raging Bolt
Sacred Fire being better Inferno... being a move that precedes Inferno.
Sacred Fire:
- 100 BP
- 95 Acc
- 50% chance of burning (scaled, it is something like 47.5%)
Inferno:
- 100 BP (same as Sacred Fire)
- 50 Acc
- Always burns (scaled, it is 50% - whenever it hits)
In the end, you get more from the raw damage dealt the 45% of the unhit "Infernos" than the damage you uptick with the 2.5% advantage Inferno has over Sacred Fire on burning.
I played you on Ladder yesterday! Our game got disconnected after about 3 turns which was a pain (you would've more than likely won anyways though)
Subscribed. I feel educated
Very good video as always, but why have you turned orange??
Flutter Mane is one of the toughest Pokemon to face. It hits hard and with a lot of EV investment in physical bulk it's surprisingly tough to take down.
Funny enough, Entei is a great answer to Flutter Mane. It resists it’s hard hitting Fairy moves and can KO it with Sacred Fire.
How many gaming setups you got? Every time you are at a different location.
Love your content tho✨❤️
Hello Aaron. Hope you have a good day. You make Awesome content❤
QOTD: Dondozo. I see it and I mentally surrender. Then I take it down... only to see the Sash Chien-Pao in the back. ._.
Aron is an inspiration; even after all the times he's been burned by will'o, hes still willing to fire it off
Loving the tan!
QOTD quick psyspam with Iron crown + Trick room and torkoal, also registeel, you get one turn wrong and you can't longer ko it.
i used the iron crown psyspam team you showcased to get back to masters
Hey i'm new to Pokemon VGC, i've watch a lot of your video and i realize you play with base stat, are you playing pvp with base stat or you just show the Pokemon base stat and modified later? Anyway keep it up fot he informative video✊🏻.
QOTD: My case is a bit weird, but Chi Yu. Not because I can never beat it, but because I feel it either gives me no problems at all, or I lose my entire team to one.
For QOTD I will say with my experience and my team beat up Whismocott plus grass tera justified terrakion is on pretty tough team I went up against. My hard counter Serpierior and heart flame mask ogrepon were no match for it XD.
Kingambit was the most difficult Pokemon for my team personally to face at Portland (I went 5-4 with a latias/kingambit team).
QOTD: Landorus-I has been super problematic for me, especially since I've been playing a lot of Raging Bolt
Episode looo000oong, me enjoy, thanking Aaron!!!!❤
Haha the finals reference in the nicknames
with the speed/sp attack tie on Flutter--is the booster energy random between the two?
No, it picks the first one in the following order: Atk, Def, SpA, SpD, and Spe (so in this case, it prioritizes SpA every time!)
i love when u post
Nice to see Aaron cosplaying a Charmander 😂
I want to see that gallade team too Aaron!!
Looking like you got some sun, good for you. Frigid here 🥶
I'm too sure if it's my phone or not. But you look like you took a dive through the cheeto dust
Where you find these hole in the wall Pokémon tourneys outside of Pokémon regionals?
I’ve been having trouble with kingambit more than anything. A kingambit with a good tera type can do so much damage to a team.
You should create shorts with VGC tips and tricks
lol the nicknames of the pokémon are the team names from “The finals”
I need help so bad in regulation F, Aaron. I cant seem to find my rhythm in this reg and Idk why. I really enjoyed the Toxapex/HGoodra team you featured last season, so much that I made my own with some mild changes. Please halp Aaron❤
there’s that intro i missed😌
I hope this settles once and for all the argument about whether the Legendary Beasts are canine or feline or whatever… cuz Entei got that DAWG in em 😤
Cyber, could you make a video featuring Archaludon plus Raging Bolt next time? Can these two pokemon combo have a good performance in this Reg?
QOTD: I'm running TTar + Excadrill and the only mons giving me problems are random off meta mons like Muk, and really well played rain + Archaludon
Muk will be meta for at least a week due to Portland regional.
@@brandonweaver5910 gonna be a fun time, can't wait lmao
Wow. There's as many entei in top 8 of that regional as there is incineroar. Is incen finally balanced?
I'm curious about the interaction in 16:20 why didn't Whimsicott's special attack drop with snarl?
covert cloak
@@myballsitch200 that's what I thought, but is it a thing people run?
@@andruberriosbuzura7835 yeah, whimsicott and tornadus can both run covert cloak on teams that heavily want tailwind basically
@@myballsitch200 I'm now realizing I confused covert cloak with clear amulet 😂 now it makes more sense
@@myballsitch200 I'm now realizing I confused covert cloak with clear amulet 😂 now it makes more sense
that registeel was tough
Hey I noticed that the flutter mane has equal SpA and SPE so does that mean it’s a random chance what boost it get from booster energy?
It then goes by which nature is boosting which stat. Modest boost SpA. Timid boosts speed
It actually goes by order of stats, not nature. If there's a tie between stats for Protosynthesis/Quark Drive, it goes from Atk, Def, SpA, SpD, then Spe to determine which stat gets boosted.
Since SpA and Spe tie, and SpA is higher in order, Protosynthesis boosts the Flutter Mane's SpA.
@@_YaYi Thank you so much 🙏
Landorus I is the only one that I often struggled. Also it’s because I play sand team. So much poison and ground weakness 😂
Whenever someone brings up Will-O, I always think about Aaron 😅
I feel like Urshifu always gives me a hard time. I almost never click protect when it's on the field, even when the teammate might attack me.
Not wil-o-wisp!
Lmao the will o wisp joke
Also, they changed entei's 3d model slightly like Mewtwo and Charizad
Do Entei and Chien-Pao not have almost the same roar animation at the end of every turn?
Hy Aron I just started Scarlet and want to make a sand team with Ttar. Would you have any Recs for a core?
scarf darkshifu has been a nightmare for me this season
Should uesd thunderclap+ice spinner instead of suker punch+thunderbolt,in game3😅
I like your shirt :D
Hey Aaron, do you ever think about doing BO3s on showdown? I think it would be great to get your thoughts on teams in those match ups
