I managed to beat the unbeatable, but it required creating an abomination of Arceus’ creation
Dynamax legendaries. Galar's Battle Tower doesn't prohibit legendaries, so lots of dynamax legendaries can practically solo the Battle Tower.
I can casually get that ribbon on any Pokemon (well, provided they're available in Sword/Shield) by having them sit on the bench as a Modest Dynamax Yveltal basically slaughters everything, up to and including Leon's Dynamaxed Charizard.

This couldn't have come at a better time, I was literally just banging my head against the wall on this one. I was going to go for something involving trick room explosion Exeggutor followed up by Rhyperior but this seems... better.
Damn, I really wish I knew all this a couple months ago when I grinded to get this one. Genuinely, good on you guys for putting in this work to make the trek easier for people going for this themselves, because at least in my experience it was hell otherwise, even with this Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss team. Although it is very funny looking at it now as I presumably actually encountered this exact team a couple times on my own trek up, based on the multiple Gengars and Skarmorys named Gaslight and Gatekeep. I even encountered Toast on the final set before getting the ribbon so that was neat.
I do think the tower is pretty neat though, it was very cool seeing other people's ribbon masters when I eventually got to the last set. If anyone happens to come across a Shiny Heracross named Mushi on their way up, that's mine.
There's so many things I love here.
The gaslight gatekeep girlboss thing is hilarious, the fact that this strat ONLY works for human trainers due to AI players being goofy is just amazing, and the fact that this kinda is done to make it so the room is cleaned up as far as hacked trainers are concerned

I personally won't go for it due its status as "unneccessary", but it's VERY good to see that the rooms are being worked on.
I'm not gonna lie, I massively respect that you've left the rest of the rooms alone, so as to minimize the impact of what it naturally came to be and what it will become

one additional note for the participants: it's probably the best to let your gengar and froslass only know the required moves. if gengar e.g. knows dark pulse, and you lose the speed tie to dark pulse, theres a chance that your own gengar flinches. also the ribbon masters should only either know moves that kill, or no moves that kill. BUT PLS NO THUNDERWAVE OR SIMILAR MOVES!

I went through a handful of battles in room 14 I think. I thankfully didn't find any wonder guard spirtiombs there. But I wouldn't be surprised if some have made their way in.

I struggled for days trying to get this ribbon, creating a strategy guide after finding a room without hacked pokemon and replaying it a dozen times until I could beat it with my team. You've made this really accessible for so many more people!
Been hunting a shiny heracross on colosseum. Been at it for almost a month and I only have 800 encounters. God I hope I get it before they discontinue pokemon bank.

I was inspired by your videos and the rest of the pokemon ribbon community to start a ribbon master some months ago. Gen 3 was a ton of fun but I've been putting off finishing gen 4 specifically because of this ribbon. I even thought I might just skip it as something not worth the hassle of facing no-guard-sheer-cold machamps and whatnot. It seems that's not necessary anymore. Amazing work!

I recently bought all games I was missing from my collection from gens 3-6 and have been going through them from the start trying to explore parts that I never got too deep into as a kid. Like collecting every single ribbon or making a gen 3 living dex. The older games have the kind of charm and nostalgia that I will never get over I think!

I think I might finally try and do a ribbon challenge. Sort of lowkey potentially running out of time, depending on how soon after 3ds online service shutdown pokébank gets shut down too. It might take years, but potentially only few months.
Just gotta pick a suitable pokémon in Gen 3 and go for it. Maybe if I manage to find a good shiny I could do it on that. I am not too worried about the pokémon's availability in switch games though. I'd be perfectly happy having all the available ribbons up to sun/moon.
But yeah, the difficulty of getting this particular ribbon is one of the reasons I've been putting it off.
Oh this is neat to see! I'm doing a trio ribbon master run of a Dunsparce, Sudowoodo, and Vibrava (some of my favorite mons) and the wi-fi Ribbon was... interesting.
I was fortunate enough to not see Wonder Tombs or Spore Ninjasks, but oh god I saw a good amount of Sheer Cold Machamps. Fortunately I seem to have ran into a bunch of ribbon master running teams (some with the ribbon master on the team) pushing out the hacked teams when I went through the tower a month ago. (Currently at gen 5 and prepping to make my team movie stars).
This movement is very nice to see to make this ribbon far less aggravating. The Wi-Fi tower is such a cool idea marred by the lack of hack checks. All the legit teams I ran across were interesting experiences with surely some kind of story behind them to tell. But the moment I ran into a hacked team the experience went down the gutter. Thank god online has hack checks to block the outright illegal stuff.

That's awesome that a floors been claimed! My WA Ribbon wasn't that bad, but it was mostly due to running into the discord team so much anyways. If you get unlucky and face a different team with attacking moves, it is worth noting that you a few tries before the derank, and you can practice without risking it, allowing you to basically plan out the floor move by move. I actually liked this part for that reason, it felt like planning out a nuzlocke compared to hoping I didnt roll a weavile in the proper sinnoh battle tower 😅(I fought after all the wonderguard tombs got cleaned though, such a difference maker)

Oddly, I found this one easy. The multi battle (with AI partner) is the one I struggle with.

Breeding and ev training for competitive was a hassle back then. It takes an entire week pr so just to build one competitive Pokemon.
Now it only takes 10 minutes to build an entire competitive team so long as you have all the resources.

Now we just need a way to cheese the master rank ribbon. It may be possible to do it in Sword and Sheild since the ranked servers are dead. Maybe a bot of some kind could be set up.

Ahhh, just finished my run, that was almost relaxing. Everyone obviously playing nice with their RM 3rd slot, other than a Slowpoke in Room 4 that didn't know whether to boost it's stats or attack with surf. Thankfully I taunted it into attacking and going for the kill before I ran out of Destiny Bond PP, but compared to the brute force of everyone else it was a tricky little bugger to read!

I'm stalling again on my journey, only it's the AI partner ribbon that's put me off as seemingly everyone has thunder punch & Ice punch to counter me... It's driven me mad
I do have the perfect Gengar ready to go for this though, getting the others should be easy so I might just have a crack at this in the meantime to find some motivation to finally get out of Gen IV (various set backs all the way from 2020 so far...)

before the wifi tower removed all wonder guard spiritombs i was determined to beat all them with foresight dynamic punch machamps to get to rank 5 then to rank 10 since then ive been doing nearly all rooms in rank 10

Huh, this is good timing, as I'm working on a couple RMs in Gen 4 right now (after I recently figured out how I could get the ribbons I was missing out on in Gen 3 with emulators, and then easily trade them back to real cartridges in Gen 4). I was just going to skip this ribbon, but maybe this makes it more feasible.
Though I'm wondering if I'll need to jump on this while I can, before everyone else does and the supposedly always shifting meta of this ribbon changes (since people's teams get automatically uploaded to the fan servers when you do this, right?).
The idea is that everyone uses this same team so the room meta always stays the same, and this team always beats itself when piloted by a human :)
@@SirToastyToes Now that I've watched the video, it all makes sense. I just need to acquire a couple team members I didn't have on hand at the moment (plus prepare my RMs to be easily beaten), and I'll be giving it a go. Honestly never thought this would be an achievable ribbon for me.
@@SirToastyToes A question for this- for the RM slot, are there any other best practices we should follow to help maintain the hygiene of Room 2? For example, my Gardevoir RM has Psychic and Shock Wave as attacking moves, which shouldn't pose any problem, but also has Calm Mind and Protect from doing the Super Contest ribbons earlier, which it might waste turns on during the battle and thus waste Frosslass's very limited Destiny Bond PP. I'm hoping that whatever opponent faces my team next on Rank 4 can just spam Destiny Bond until Gardevoir presumably chooses Psychic for a probable kill (Frosslass isn't the bulkiest Pokemon in the first place and we're building this one to be a glass cannon), but I wouldn't want to force someone to restart the rank because they got unlucky.
@@TheBruin42 In my experience Gardevoir would probably set up one Calm Mind and then start attacking

What would happen if you lose a match because it locks you out of a specific room if I remember correctly?

Will this work in any Battle Tower that uses singles? (I know it won't work in Doubles as you need four Pokemon.) If so, it would make for an easy ribbon catch for those annoying battle tower ribbons.
You could use this team there but the AI is less likely to have an all out attacking team every battle like the WiFi Tower

I really have problems with the connection to poke classic, the first try I connect and downloaded a room with no problems, but one week later, after i see this video and make a gengar/froslass for the room now i can't connect to the server, I try with 2 cellphone (both hotspot with no password) but nothing works for me, it's weird, because the first try works excellent but now i see error 52101 and mentioned that the wifi servers are discontinued, I try with both telephones and with a diamond and a HG game but not work in anyone

I trained a Gen 4 Skarmory up and didn't realize that Counter is a Gen 3 tutor move.
Is there something I can give it instead as to not be a hindrance to others?
You don't need Skarmory, only your Ribbon Pokemon in the third slot. If your Ribbon Pokemon IS Skarmory just follow the general rules like no priority moves and a speed dropping item :)

Is Counter really necessary for Gengar, Frolass, and Skarmary for the Wifi Tower, or can this be done without them? Those 3 can only learn Counter in Gen 3.
It isn't necessary for the cleaned Room, only for if you venture out into the rest of the WiFi Tower :)
@@SirToastyToes I see. Will keep that in mind for when I do venture past that point. Planning on getting Gen 3 and 4 set up as there are some Pokemon I plan to catch in Gen 3/4 that I want to make as Ribbon Masters (Especially Shiny Eevees). That is why I've been look at different teams that do well in the Battle Facilities, including your video. Your video was great, definitely setting up this team soon.
Anyone else here losing their minds trying to get a 31 speed IV Gastly? Swear I’ve been through 100 no luck yet. If it never uses fake out is max speed absolutely required? Don’t want to mess up your hard work
Max speed is required to make sure you outspeed other players' froslass every time. Other players will be able to beat a non max speed Gengar but it'll make your life a lot more difficult

i grinded this disgusting thing, and i regret every single minute i spend on this ( since i'm using emulators and i cloned a Bunch of my Shiny sneasels from Colosseum to all of them to have all ribbons xD )
