The six cylinder with the 4 bbl is a pontiac overhead cam engine from the late 60's.
Thanks for the info
I was thinking it was the high performance model due to the QJet and split manifold. They would have been in the Firebird and Le Mans. Was it called the Sprint?
@@3rdworldgarage450 Yes. 230 OHC "Sprint Six". Pretty rare part. The only thing more rare is a guy that needs one.
The amount of work that the management of this yard had it's employees doing, that did not pay off, is unreal.
Plus EPA and local land use regs force owners to clean up or sell....know the gov. Hassles well....
Maybe they had been doing it like that for forty years before they stopped, making a good living from it all that time....
I'm always game for junkyard tours! Classic yards are a form of therapy!
Definitely some more junkyard tours. Interesting stuff. 👍😁
As a longroof fan, that Checker wagon got my attention, what a GEM.
Sure would be a cool car
The amount of knowledge you have for identifying all these cars and parts is awesome.
Worthless info mostly!
Straight 6 quadrajet intake/split exhaist is probably from a late 60's Pontiac Sprint 6 OHC Engine.
Yep I had a old neighbor friend that had one back in the day. Can't exactly remember but I think the blocks on those were aluminum but it's been 40 years since I remember seeing the one my neighbor had .
@@peteloomis8456 Cast Iron Block, Alunibun Head
@@peteloomis8456 Cast Iron Block Chevy with Aliuminum Pontiac OHC Head
That Checker Cab wagon has thousands of dollars of parts. The tailgate and everything on it (including the crank) is worth $500.00 alone
Dang
Great video! Sad to see someone’s life work go like that! Blame the technology we have today. Nobody has time or interest in old stuff! Too busy staring at their gadgets. Thankful for you! 👊👍💪🙏🇺🇸
Thanks Mortske! That was a treat to see.
More tours are always welcomed.
Our pleasure
Puddin would be in heaven I was thinking the same thing! Thanks for sharing Enjoyed the walk through.
Our pleasure
That's too bad they're closing down, Not many of those types of junkyards left. We mostly have the pull a part salvage yards here and they charge for every single piece so, if you don't need the screws you better take them out bc they charge for those too! It's ridiculous! Thanks for taking us along, enjoyed seeing all the great stuff! 😁👍
Rule of the junkyard is anything that will fit goes in your pocket
Puddin' needs to do a road trip for the international stuff !
Man I wish we had more of these salvage yards out my way!!
Always enjoy the junkyard and auction tours. Great content Mortske!
Thanks!
Mortske! Pick up that 59 Lincoln! C'mon!
Those are cool lookin cars!
Too rough
@@moremortskerepair4354 I'm sure you can de-rough it? Or do something. Go Mortske!
Thanks for sharing your world with us !
Our pleasure
Damn, a Ford Escort drinking game! Glad I'm watching with my morning coffee and not my evening cocktail.
Haha
Those types of yards were great back in the day. If you needed something they could always find it for you! Sad to see them disappearing. Too bad there weren't more cars to look at. More junkyard videos would be cool. Catch you later!
Cool Stuff so many old yards shutting down so much being lost to the shredder saving what you can 😁👍👍👍👍
Lifetimes of effort by those folks pulling and labeling all those parts. Thanks for the tour. Hopefully your efforts will lead folks to the parts that they are searching for.
Mortske-if any of those AMC engines are a 401 (it’s cast into the side of the block), those engines are bringing about $2500 for a complete one.
I just finished watching every video and was bummed. But here we are 4 hours later a new video. Thanks Mortske & Chin love the content guys
Our pleasure!
I’m amazed you can waltz around there pointing out, what to me is scrap for sculpting, random things with exactness. Despite me not wanting to do anything more than dabble with cars, I still find this interesting AF. ✊🏻🖤
My father in law worked there for almost 20 years. They use to keep that place really nice. The Youngs are still family friends
That’s awesome!
@@moremortskerepair4354 I wonder how many of those parts that are still sitting there that he was the last person to touch them 30 years ago.
love to see the old junk, keep them coming if you find any more junk yards to walk round👍
So...many...parts.... crazy how organized they were. Cool video Mortske!
Thanks!
Sure am feeling old. These places are going faster than I expected, 30 years ago. Thanks Mr Mortske
Whatever you film and show, I and all the rest of your salivating fans will watch.
Keep up the good entertainment.......
Will do
Well Mortske! You found a holy grail of old Junk Yards. Don’t know if you were hunting for anything. But, if you made a purchase would have been really cool. Thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas 🎁🎄And you purchased!
That 6 cylinder manifold you found with the quadrajunk carburetor is overhead cam poncho motor
Thanks for the info
That 6 cylinder Q-Jet intake could be for something like the Pontiac OHC Sprint engine from a 60s Firebird or Lemans. Fun little engine!
Fun time .thanks much. See you Monday
Our pleasure Mike
I enjoy the auction and yark crawls . I love just going to the junk yard for 1 or 2 things and rummaging around for 4 hours cuz I lost track of time and forgot what I was there for in the first place
Yup
Back in high school in the early 90s, me and my motorhead friends (and even girlfriends on occasion) would pack lunches and go visit old salvage yards out in the country, 3 hours away at times. We’d eat sandwiches on top of old 1940s GM busses and check out acres of ancient iron. We may have snuck away with the occasional emblem but most often we’d pay the few bucks for them at the office. Yard owners were always nice about it. I believe at least some of these yards, with their old inventory, are still around today.
Good times
That little Hough Payloader has a Waukesha FC flathead 4, nice little machines. Thanks for the tour!
You bet
More junkyards? Yes please. I’m always afraid he’s going to find the one obscure part I’m looking for…
he's gonna find Hoffa..
@@stevenquigley4208 😅😂😅😂 wouldn't that be something!
Just Hoffa's head
Love these videos, it’s amazing to see what some people collect and hoard
That 3rd Gen Camaro has Puddin’s name all over it! Keystones and white walls, DANG!!!😂
These walk throughs are some of my favorites brother
I believe that 4bbl intake was specific to the firebird and lemans sprint 67 or 68. Cool piece .
Yup OHC straight six 67-69. The 4 barrel ones put out about 230 gross HP.
Thanks for the info!
There was one in my town where they ended up scooping it all up into a front loader and scrapped what was left. And he did have a section of high performance stuff. I about tripped over a cross-ram manifold in there. Had a big chunk out of a corner. 4 tunnel rams on a top shelf. He had a replica 426 Hemi in the front room which was cool.
Matter of fact a guy across town from him had one of those replica Hemi's too. Some kind of promotional thing? idk! I think they were fiberglass.
Wild
Some nice old rigs, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Our pleasure
Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends.
Same to you
Always enjoy your stuff. Thanks !
Our pleasure Bill
You need that whole place in your life. Think of the starters !!!!!
Cool video! Thanks for bringing us along 🐾🍺
Thanks for watching
Great content on both channels! Thanks Mortske!

Hey MORTSKE 👋, thanks for sharing . Look like at one time that was a good place for getting used parts. It’s sad to see these places disappearing. Have a great day!
Our pleasure
Someone/ Some people put some time in that place ! I like the salvage yard stuff ! Too each their own ! Thanks for sharing probably never see anything like that again !
Our pleasure
I ran the simulated cragar hubcaps on my 82? Olds Omega. Yes, I bought some raised white letter wide tracks also. She was a chik getter! Those were the days
Dang
MR. M you have the bestest time always!😆 Thanks for letting us come along!
Our pleasure
I was waiting for a whole room of Starters 🤣🤣🤣🤣 definitely enjoy the junkyard videos 👍
Kept that for myself!
@@moremortskerepair4354 Lol 😂😆😂😂
Lots and lots of stuff!!!!! 👍👍
Love the junkyard tours! They are the best.
Sure are
Now that was different!!! All those sliding rear windows for half tons but no fishing rod ( gun rack ) holders
and tons of misc stuff that only someone with time on there hands would strip and save. I was shocked by some of the engines, didn't see any flatheads. Love to go on another tour . Thanks for that one, Stuart
in Ontario......
Our pleasure
Thanks for posting that makes me want to get up and work on my hudson great motivation video
Awesome
Circle jerkers lol that was great
I had that same thought right before you said it..."Wow, that's a lot of paint markers!".
Cool video ! I would have so grabbed that sun visor ( if it were available ) Thanks for the bonus content !
I vote for more Junkyard tours! 😎👍🏻
love watching your junkyard tours loved the video all the best
Thanks Paul
Good to see you Fella’s
That was a cool place to see. Loved it. The first time you said trailer house I almost pee'd a little from laughing. My 5 year old son says that everytime we drive past one. I've never heard anyone else say that. We just call them trailers. 🤣
My bad
This Cool Stuff in this yard
Mortske. That 4 barrel intake for the inline 6 was for a 1966. Pontiac Lemans. Sprint package. Very cool find.
Thanks for the info
Damn!! I need a bunch of that stuff!
I don't know how many salvageable parts are there as far as a project...but there's definitely plenty to decorate a garage with.
1957 *Lincoln" Capri , Renault Encore
Good Tour... You are very knowledgeable.
Thanks Ed!
Very cool, thanks dude 👍 rusty gold...hope they don't melt it down.
Our pleasure
Fun stuff! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I wish a junkyard like this one with old cars and trucks where I live
4:05 I absolutely LOVE those bug eyed Apache pickup trucks. I'm waiting on a few things to happen here for me, and when they do, I think I might you to want you help me find one of these beauties.
I saw everything but emblems and logos. I'm a sucker for those because they're so collectable. I've got a hood ornament collection.....I'm weird, I know. You could build your own Johnny Cash car from that 😄 I've never seen so many car parts in my life and I visit a lot of junkyards. An "Encore" was made by Renault back in the 80s...it was kinda like the "LeCar". They thought it would save AMC, but they ended up being bought by Chysler and the rest is history. Now Chrysler is the one getting bought up. Who knew? Thanks for sharing Mort!
Our pleasure
Freaken gold mine of cool stuff !
You amaze me with your knowledge.
Thanks
Great video bud thank you
Thanks for watching
Another man's junk is another man's treasure. that being said there's so much value with all those parts because USA made, aftermarket parts are made you know where and suck, and a lot of that old Metals going to get crushed up sold overseas and sold back to us as crap metal, I wish some one save all that stuff but a lot of people nowadays don't keep old stuff for Restore anymore or don't care. (usa) is a throw away Nation! I'm 45 and things aren't like they used to be when I was a kid. Thanks for showing mortske.
Our pleasure
Keep wondering how depressing it will be in 20 years that the parts we can't find were there, but how do you know which ones? How do you store it and so on?
I can never figure out a person in their lifetime could even come close to saving up that much stuff as amazes me Wow
It was a business
Hey Mortske: Lots of rusty gold there at Young's there in Devil's Lake... You never to fail at finding second hand salvage parts to build on and you know exactly where to find them... From the hone of PB Blaster Silicone spray... Cleveland, Ohio... (Give Duff some treats for me!!!!)
Yes, more junkyard crawls please. There a few left here in New England but they are disappearing. 😕
Junkyard tours yes!
Hate to see the old yards fold cause that stuff will never come back around. EPA is shutting down all the old yards around here. Well, not physically closing them. Just making it too expensive to become compliant. The yards just fold. Thanks for letting us tag along again.
Great video amazing how much you guys know.
Glad you think so!
that big manifold on the ground, it is a 2+2 Pontiac over head cam 6 cylinder 4bbl intake dual exhaust , rare and very cool
Good to know
Very interesting. Didn't know there were any Legit junk yards left.
Didn't see Duff...is he off on a cruise or something? He's the main reason I watch! That's a joke, son. Love all your stuff....fooey on Joe!
Awesome video I wanna see more junk yards
Awesome
Merry Christmas my best friends. And good luck. Where's duff?🌲🎅⛄☃️❄️
Same to you
Thank you.
I wish I was close enough, I need a 3 belt water pump pulley for a Ford FE motor. Not sure if other motors would interchange or not. We just don’t have any yards like that. It’s all modern stuff here, all the old stuff has been hauled for scrap
Tom, the 4bbl Quadrajet 6 cyl. manifold came on a 1966-69 Pontiac 230 and 250 Overhead Cam engine. They came in Le Mans and Firebird Sprints.
Thanks for the info!
Ah the memories with American car culture, even now when I go to a junkyard or pick and pull for just one specific model, I end up spending another half hour poking around, shade tree mechanic for life
The old Kaiser with the "Darrin Dip" windows.
ahhh
Awww man, I'll be in Rolette County next week. I'd love to get some body parts for my 1965 Chevy C20.
Puddin' was looking for a Ford/Mazda Courier grill, if that's what you saw.
I can't read good I don't know just turn left lol..... Thanks for the video and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND DUFF!!!
Same to you Larry
I may have to get me a couple Morstake hooides I was checking out the site today
Awesome
