Thanks, Red sent me to your site when I didn’t know how to connect the expansion blade and audio break-out. Thanks.

Hey Jim, I tested that1/8" 3.5mm TRS-to-Straight LEMO 00B 5pin Alexa cable from Alvin's cables on my Red Raptor that you recommend. I can confirm it does not work. I also had Remote Audio build me a cable to the same specs and can also confirm that it didn't work. Both cables that I've tested that are 1/8" 3.5mm TRS-to-Straight LEMO 00B 5pin are super noisy and not useable. Not sure if Red is doing something different. I tested the XLR cables and those are fine. Have you tested these on a Red Raptor personally?

Hi John, What was your audio source with the 1/8” jack (feeding the Lemo5 00B audio input)? Because neither cable you purchased is working correctly, it makes me think it’s something happening before the cable. This sounds like a wiring mismatch.

@@kemalettinsrt Deity lists their V-Mic D3 Pro as NOT compatible with the Arri Alexa Mini (another camera which has this same LEMO5-pin audio input), therefore it would also not be compatible with this RED V-Raptor. The reason being: the D3 Pro requires "Plugin Power" which this camera does not supply. A workaround would be using a Deity D-XLR adapter amzn.to/3yNvIa1 (which converts the cameras +48v phantom power down to the correct voltage for the V-Mic D3. You then would instead need the XLR-to-Lemo5pin cable amzn.to/3z9kUog this combination requires you enable the camera's Phantom Power in the audio menu.

Thanks! The real magic here is the Sennheiser MKH50 geni.us/WEWP09u (placed about 6" from my mouth). As far as processing, in Premiere Pro I'm using 3 plugins: first: "Hi-pass" set to 90Hz, then Multiband Compressor (using the 'Broadcast' preset) and at the end of the chain the "Hard Limiter" is giving it that compressed/big radio effect. You need to adjust the "input boost" to taste. I can't tell you the exact value, because it totally depends on how loud your source files are recorded (ie. if your files are quieter, it will need more boost to get that effect, and vice versa. So you just have to adjust that parameter to taste. If you boost too hard, it'll sounds TOO pump-y/breathy.

No matter what cables, mics, or settings you use, recording audio to the V-Raptor always sounds like garbage. The preamps RED users are so noisy and weak. RED must be buying the cheapest crap available
