There is nothing wrong with a dynasty ending, but maybe there is something wrong with them just holding on to the past and holding Steph's last years hostage
What you guys don’t get is when the core has support they win chips. The same thing we say now we said as few years ago when they won. They have things to go off of a build so they should do that unless the three or Steve say different
My theory with the Myers situation is that he and ownership had already had discussions on how to deal with the core of the team aging. My guess is they had some fundamental disagreements and he knew it was gonna get kinda ugly.
At some point the media has to stop flagging the 'legacy' franchises and start covering the up-and-comers a whole lot more. They are now the legitimate teams in the NBA. The old guard is fading very rapidly. Perhaps LeBron and his ilk are next.
NBA media is definitely going to flag the James father son duo next season. This is no doubt for sure. Bronny is 10 times more talked about than any of the top 10 picks 😂
A player or two in the Iguodala/Livingston/Otto Porter mold would help a lot. Cerebral, plus length, good D, good rebounding, good passing, OK with short minutes and low usage. Problem is, with the way free agency works, they have to make the big decisions before the market for those sorts of veteran role players sorts out.
Honestly, the best move from a business perspective is probably to trade Steph while he still plays like a superstar and get as many picks as you can, also trade Draymond and maybe convince Klay to do a S&T. Warriors was done before this season started. They didn't add any significant players to the roster. I am not mentioning CP3, as at this stage his contribution isn't as big as 3 years ago
It was going to happen at some point, they just need to trade everyone and go for a rebuild, best thing for steph will be to retire but he is playing at all nba level, so he might as well go ring chase cause if he gets a 5th ring, he might as well be considered top 5 all time ...
Unless they sign a big free agent and move off Klay and or Dray, I think it might be time to trade Curry. You can get a good haul for him, maybe 4 firsts and a few pick swaps. I know he’s GS’s guy, but he wants to win, and it’s clear this group’s title window is very much closed.
Trading Curry means you have thrown in the towel and automatically become a bottom-dwelling team. Don't think it is that extreme. They need to get size and sign younger players. They need to let Klay go or trade him if that is even possible and let Chris go for picks if that is possible. They will have some cap room I believe to sign some players. GSW has been resistant in transitioning to post-Curry era, but now they are now forced to do it.
I said it 2 years ago, the best thing they could do is trade their Big 3 while they all still had some gas left in the tank, and before they got too old. Better a year too early than a year too late. But of course they're going to cling to their past glory, and now they're one of the bottom 1/3 of teams in the NBA. Have fun with mediocrity for the next half-decade, you deserve it.
I actually can see Klay joining Magic, maybe they throw him 2 years $50-60M and work as an upgrade over Gary Harris. But he's still going to be 3rd option at best on that team
Let CP3 walk Bring Klay back on at least 15M per year for 3 years Trade Wiggins to Shed money and because he is dealing with personal things so he isn’t focused Make Moody and possibly Looney available for trade as well And then you should have a solid playoff team if healthy
Warriors have nothing but bad options this offseason. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last of Klay's game in a Warriors uniform. Dunleavy has arguably the toughest job in NBA right now, best of luck to him.
I know it’s not gonna happen, but I think they should trade Steph. Yeah it’s crazy, but the west is tough & the spurs will be better, rockets likely better & Memphis if Ja gets his act together will be significantly bettter. What’s the ceiling for this warriors team? Hard to see where they get another star to go w curry without losing all of their depth
It amazes me how singular minded the conversation is when it comes to the GS. As if, there is only one option available. Technically, if we are being honest, all they need to do is resign Klay to a 3-4yr year deal around $16-$22mil per season, flip Wiggins, Loon, and either JK or Moody along with a couple future first round draft picks for 1-2 slightly younger all-star caliber vets, and depending on the salaries of that trade possibility, get creative with the CP3 $30mil player option. They could be under at least the second apron and have a better team walking into camp for next season. Let's stop acting like the NBa doesn't constantly surprise us with trades we never thought would happen.
After mike brown leave the team after that championship...warriors are not the same anymore, though they have that ups in the season sometimes ..but their identity is not there anymore...now they are just an offensive team that cant defend players...
The cap is 141m next season. Without CP3 and Klay they're still at 144m. They either blow it all up and start from scratch, thus trading Steph and Dray. Or they keep paying the luxury if they don't want to waste Steph and get 2-3 good players, get rid of Dray nonetheless.
Klay is no longer a starter in the nba. He could flourish as a 6th man playing a solid 20-24 minutes a game ... and every now and then if he's hot stepping up for a 30+ minute game here or there.

Should heavily pursue Isaiah Hartenstein, Tobias Harris, Tyus Jones, and Shake Milton.
Well looks like Steph is about to enter the Dirk post chip era. It was a fun run
After mike brown leave the team after that championship...warriors are not the same anymore, though they have that ups in the season sometimes ..but their identity is not there anymore...now they are just an offensive team that cant defend players...
Klay need to go to the Spurs once they get a playmaker
0 points for Klay 😔
Unless he's coming in on a 3 yr / $60 million deal, and a reduced, "Ray Allen from Miami" kind of role, GSW should part ways with Klay Thompson.
The cap is 141m next season. Without CP3 and Klay they're still at 144m. They either blow it all up and start from scratch, thus trading Steph and Dray. Or they keep paying the luxury if they don't want to waste Steph and get 2-3 good players, get rid of Dray nonetheless.
CP3 and Wiggins are DEFINITELY gone! There's no way they will pay this amount of money for players who don't have the necessary impact on the floor.
Steph definitely isn’t going anywhere.
All dynasties come to an end. 4 rings is more than most franchises will ever have. Dont be sad that its over, be glad that it happened
exactly how I feel as a Patriots fan. Can't expect excellence to last forever
@@Fro00ot0but the patriots literally won a lot more than the warriors well we really can’t compare this to the nba
Klay is no longer a starter in the nba. He could flourish as a 6th man playing a solid 20-24 minutes a game ... and every now and then if he's hot stepping up for a 30+ minute game here or there.
