    the best thing Philadelphia has is Maxey. As a Knicks fan, I can say that Embiid is like Porzingis was for us, very special, unique and when healthy could drag a poorly built Knicks team high in the standings. We thought he was our God, until his ACL tore. Our biggest blessing was letting him leave. Imagine the purgatory we would be in if we kept and built around him. Philly, you guys are soooo blessed that Maxey fell in your hands, he is your guy! Embiid shouldn’t be a priority

    • @pinobluevogel6458
      @pinobluevogel6458 Před 28 dny +1

      To be entirely fair, any player can suffer a catastrophic injury, even a smaller guy. Also, Porzingis is staying on the floor longer than he has in the earlier parts of his career. Impossible as a main guy, but great to have as an all-star caliber roleplayer, like what he is on the Celtics now.

    • @FruitAndVeg-tj5et
      @FruitAndVeg-tj5et Před 22 dny +2

      Maxey was horrible without Embiid all season and in this series too (28 FG%). Nowhere near good enough to build around. He's only a scorer and sucks at everything else.

    • @pinobluevogel6458
      @pinobluevogel6458 Před 22 dny +1

      @@FruitAndVeg-tj5et Guys that can be a lone starplayer and still remain efficient are rare. Embiid is basically a cheatcode, being 7 ft, 280 lbs and extremely skilled with his footwork, shooting and touch. Now that his passing game is unlocked by a better system under Nick Nurse, this makes Maxey understandably better too, always being one pass out and shooting open threes or attacking a closeout with lightning speed.
      I don't know what you have against Maxey, but considering he is young, still improving and is playing heavy minutes and delivering on several occasions in crunch time, I think they basically struck gold with him.
      Going off this random stat while being a lone star on the team is not exactly representative of how good he is under a normal load and efficiency. And ofcourse everything will suffer because of the massively increased defensive coverage that will be on him. There might be less than 10 guys in the NBA that can operate in a similar situation and still remain effective.

    • @FruitAndVeg-tj5et
      @FruitAndVeg-tj5et Před 22 dny

      @@pinobluevogel6458 I don't have anything against Maxey. Maxey is a good player but he's only good at scoring. Hes bad at everything else and his effeciency is very poor without Embiid next to him. So yeah hes not good enough to build around and the Sixers would look like the LaVine Bulls if they built around him or maybe the Beal Wizards at best.

      Then you don’t understand the process was never completed. It ended when hinkie was forced out and the 6ers were told to use the assets. So stop the process chatter. Okc got to finish their process, being the got better draft picks as well as being in a smaller market with less expectations

    • @pinobluevogel6458
      @pinobluevogel6458 Před 28 dny

      The difference between the Thunder and the Sixers is that for OKC, they actually went through the entire process and were extremely smart with their draft capital and future assets, while the Sixers hit on Embiid (and in a way hit on Ben Simmons too, at first) very early in this process and started trying for championships way early. A bit of this is luck for sure on the Thunder side, but the succes of it also relies on managing the process well.
      Overpaying someone like Harris, while letting a very competative guy go in Butler is a mistake that is on the front office, as is treating Harden badly enough so he wouldn't stay. I wouldn't be surprised if Embiid looks out for better pastures, to a franchise that at least manages their assets really well.

    • @connorfarley3569

      They payed Tobi because of Ben. It wasn’t over Tobi it was over ben. Then knew they could only have one. Ben Simmons who was a young all star or Jimmy who is older then him. Those chose Ben which yk how that turned out. And gave the rest of the money to Tobi because they had to spend it

      Magic creating enough cap room for a max guy like PG would be tough. They'd have to drop Mo, Ingles, Goga, & Houston, and give up on Fultz/Harris. That's a lot of guys who were contributors to them this year. Not sure I see them signing anyone over about $30m.

    • @hestilllives192
      @hestilllives192 Před měsícem

      @@mattf3873 Will the Magic drop Isaac? I'd love OKC to offer him a contract the second they do, I just don't think they will. Fultz/Harris and other cap holds dropping, still keeps them at $117 ($187.5m allocated), or about $24m cap space. You'd still have to drop the 4 guys I mentioned to make enough cap space for a max guy like PG. The Magic could get up to $58m cap, but they'd have to cut everyone without a guaranteed contract, trade both draft picks ($5.5-6m in salaries), and I don't see them doing that.

    I think they should consider taking a bit of a gamble on a young guy somewhere in the league and hope he can step up in the same way Maxey did for them. A guy like Quickley would be great, although he has a bit of overlap in skills, they actually need a big wing that can play the 3/4 spot, that is a good 2 way player and 2nd option in scoring / playmaking. Those guys are coveted around the league and not exactly laying around in free agency. The closest player to this is actually Paul George, but considering his age and how much he would cost, that is probably a bridge too far.

    Lebron and Embiid deserve each other. I would love to see them on the same team, taking passive aggressive digs at each other, and blaming each other when they still don't make it out of the second round. :D
    Realistically, Lebron doesn't care about winning anymore. He just acts like he does so he can stat pad, and have scape goats around him. He has everything he wants in LA, and can get the max he wants. They will bring in Bronny by hook or by crook, and he can go out on his own terms, barring a serious injury or steroid scandal. :D

    if they do get rid of everyone, and have to be bad cause there are no good or worthy free agents, for at least this year (maybe next year, don't know who's available going forward)....can the class repeat after me, "The Process II, Electric Boogaloo".....good, i know you could
    now here is where i stand, not a 76ers fan, not even a Philadelphia (the city) fan, not an Embid fan (used to like him, that is gone), do believe Sam Hinke got screwed, like Nick Nurse, enjoyed Colangelo scandal, enjoyed Brand era disasters, agree with Harden trade.....so from that position, agree this is the right plan (especially if they have or acquire some young players/picks), but even if not, good if it takes 1 year, fine if it takes upto 3, but this time, they have to come out the other end with something
