I've been eating Pukka Pies for donkey's years now Gareth, and i can honestly say that I've never had any fat or gristle in any of them... Most Fish & Chip Shops around the country serve Pukka Pies, mainly because of their quality and consistency. I've had other meat pies before that were full of chewy fat and gristle, it's something that's become the standard in most shop bought meat pies these days... Very few pie manufacturers will go the quality route anymore, which is a shame. They'll try and get away with less meat content, and adding more of those nasty gristly bits we all hate... The Hollands Pie looked good too, but i'd definitely need some gravy with it, as it didn't look as if it had very much in the pie itself, also it looked like they've used the slightly dryer shortcrust pastry for their pie, so they might be a little dry for my taste. Love the "Vs" idea, there's so many companies out there vying for our business these days... and all of them seem to be claiming that their product is "the best"... Most of the time they make these wild claims knowing full well, that they're nothing of the sort. So it'll be interesting to see some of these similar products going head to head... Cheers mate. 🍺
I'd eat them both tbf. This VS idea is definitely a winner can't wait to see some more of those 👍 The other half just made a good comment, if you put an egg or milk wash over the top of the Hollands pie it would probably brown off and crisp up more 😀

Gareth, I don’t know if your local Morrison’s has an in store bakery but in my local store’s they produce a wide range of pies and pasties, savoury and sweet, but my favourite one is only available from the chiller cabinet and it is only a seasonal product as far as I can tell. cheers Peak
I did my husband the steak one last night for his tea and he really enjoyed it. The pukka one that is
Am a Lancashire lad but I've been buying Pukka's recently. Hollands used to be decent pies but they've been crap for a few years now.
Your eyes say it all lol 😳
Another good review I like stake pies but I had a bad experience with one when I I was in the army which put me off them for years but I now eat them again
Oh really did the cook house poison you by any chance?
It's was a nafi pie with a cocroch in it
Haha good old naafi
