  • This video discusses the installation of the rear end, leaf springs, & shocks. I also install the brake cylinders on both sides to prep for installing the brake lines. Installing the rear end is fairly easy. We used an installation kit that comes with all new U bolts, studs, and other mounting hardware. We also installed a set of multi-leaf springs instead of the factory single-leaf style.
All parts installed in this video were purchased from Summit Racing Equipment: www.summitracing.com/

Nice video. I've ordered the Energy Suspension Leaf Spring Insulator pads and they seem to be wider than the bracket they fit in. Were your new pads do wide too?

Our pads were not too wide, but we bought the entire leaf spring replacement kit (new leaf springs, pads, mounting components, etc all came together as a set).

@@SouthpawGarage hm okay. I have no clue why mine are. Looks like I may just have swoosh them into place.

Did you take the front leaf spring bracket off? How did it go back on? I do not have my body off. I cannot figure out how to bolt it back up because there is no access to the top side of the frame rail??

Everything was taken off the car. The leaf springs we installed are brand new multi-leaf springs. The frame of the car has clips in it that the bolts thread into. You should not have to get to anything on the other side because it’s not a nut. If your 6 mounting locations do not have threaded clips in them, you will need to purchase them and put them in before bolting the front of the leaf spring to the frame. You can buy leaf spring mounting clips with the screws for about $20-$40 depending on where you purchase them. Speedway Motors lists a set for $21.99.
