    You hand tighten them so they are seated properly before lowering the car back onto the ground. Doesn't matter if you torque them on the ground or not. I've always done mine on the ground so the wheels don't spin when you torque them.

    If you're gonna be telling people to torque their wheels at 85 pounds on their Chevy truck they're gonna have a bad time lol working at a tire store I know Chevy lugs torque to 140.

    I thought you don't torque the wheels with the full weight of the vehicle on them. Just lower the car down to just touch the ground then torque to spec. Am I right?

      Not necessarily, as the wheels will get pulled towards the rotor when the torque is increased.
