- Here's the story of Saint Patrick put to music. All of it's true. Even the, uh, well, you'll see.
P.S. Go to the Issues, Etc Conference and you'll get 20 Lutheran Satire bonus points! issuesetc.org/2019conference/
Listening to this on Saint Patrick's day 2024.
I need an album of church history songs like this.
Wish granted it seems.
@@morgant.dulaman8733I take full credit! Lol

As someone who struggles with holding grudges the idea of Patrick forgiving his slavers melts my heart. The world would be a much happier place if we could all follow his example.
Agreed
We forgive because Christ first forgives us
Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus.
Romans 6:23
John 3:16❤😊
I also figure. That St Patrick was given a word from God that this is part of the plan. That He would use it to evangelize a nation. Such as Joseph of Jacob
Don't read about what Genghis and Julius Caesar did to their captors.
I have watched Lutheran Satire and now I return to cryo-sleep until their next release!
Yeah...the brilliance does require a bit of time...totes worth the wait
Amen
You may wake once more
I thought I was the only one
Back here again on the yearly pilgrimage.
The funny thing is even if now I'm dealing with doubt and feeling awful...I can't help but cry every time I hear this part of the song: I just preached him who saved me for those who enslaved me. May Christ continue to show me his great patience and mercy and love so I could preach him to those who need him.
He loved us first.
@@thephilosopherfromdixie7466 True.
May God guide you, Milka!
I love how all the "people" are Donall and Conall's!
Makes you wonder how they maintain their population, without any women.
Me too 😂
@@harringt100 Remember how Gimli described Dwarf women? Maybe the same is true of Irish women.
You think all 5th century Irishmen all look the same? That's racism, Patrick! 😉😂
"YOU must preach theeeeem the Gospel!" "Valjean, at last-" "OH my gosh!" Slays me every time.
This Song (minus the interruptions) always moves me to years, Patrick's testimony is a blessing and a reminder of God's love and power
Me too!! It’s quite beautiful!!!
I played this song around my family yesterday evening, and my mom was laughing so hard she was crying.
We need a full musical on Broadway, with these being the opening number😂
Watching with the auto-generated transcript: “I just preached him who saved me to those who enslaved me and freed them from Japan and from sin!”
St. Patrick is coming for you anime and manga next, Ireland. ;)
That would be Maximilian Kolbe.
I'd pay for a Goku vs St. Patrick movie.
🎵"His will would not never be done."🎶 ☺️ Simple and profound truth right there, Patrick.
This is a very well-written song. Is it at all possible that you could create a version without the abrupt interruptions and make it available as an audio? I'd love to put it on my musical playlists.
Yeah please do a straight through and possibly find a way to make it available for download!
Agreed
Agreed!
Please
Yes!!
YES!!!! I'll play this every Saint Patrick's Day!
Is this suppose to make fun of Patrick or honor him?
Both
It's meant to honour St. Patrick and make fun of sweaty man boobs. And make fun of Bono.
Don’t forget!! Happy St Pats Day
@@Jacob-pl3ni thanks for the reminder!
This is now an annual St Patrick’s Day tradition right up there with corned beef and green foods
I’m so glad that I didn’t give up randomly laughing in the middle of grocery stores for Lent. Thanks for the laugh, Lutheran Satire!
Indeed. Orthodox fasting is pretty intense, but it doesn't include that -- even for our monastics....
Happy Saint Patrick's day of 2023 everyone!🎉

Donall: “Well of course he converted all of us, Patrick.”
Conall: “Yeah, they’re are only eight of us in all of Ireland, Patrick.”
The rest is Ulster…
I’ve watched this an unhealthy amount of times. Love it 😭😭😂😍
That nipple trivium makes once pretty unhealthy....🤢
How does this not have over a million views? History and humour combined expertly! My students definitely enjoyed it :-)
Now this is musical comedy at its finest. I am still smiling.
There is a certain delicious beauty in how the underlying truth of the gospel is always respected, while the characters can be jovial and comical, allowing us to laugh at them in a way that helps us to see the wonder of the gospel in a new light.
Well done sir.
This is beautifully funny.
Here again for St Pattys day 2024. Still as funny as ever.
My Pastor mentioned the shamrock analogy in his sermon today, which made me think of that video so I'm off to rewatch that next.
Please release a version with just the Irish folk song! I love this so much.
How normal people see Irish people: just like everyone else.
How I see Irish people: a bunch of Donall and Conalls
Best apologists for Christianity ever
So this is how Donall and Conall found Jesus :D
I always wondered about their origin story
Through catholic faith

@@mpittella Nah, through the Biblical Gospel
@@tylerchua929 The early Messianic Jewish believers did, not Constantine's Roman Catholic Church... And that is a strawman on your part. Not every Protestant is a Pentecostal.
I was like “that sounds like Les Miserables” and then Javert popped on screen
As an atheist with an unhealthy interest in religious history and doctrines, let me just say how happy I am to have stumbled on to your channel. Great content.
Please convert
What you describe as an "unhealthy interest" sounds to me like one of the HEALTHIEST interests any soul can possibly have. God moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform, and my sincere prayer is that He is moving through the very non-traditional medium of a CZcams channel to draw you to Himself.

@@charlesclaus3294 AMEN!
Why do you call it unhealthy?
This was even better than the Veggietales St Patrick's Day short I usually watch
I'm 13 and I still LOVE VeggieTales
I am 43...and still love Veggie Tales...just like Lutheran Satire more!
@Pat Ashley just you wait...
I love that short!!
Ooh, flannelgraph!
This is the most phenomenal and informational musical on St. Patrick’s life that I’ve ever seen!
Must be revisited and re-shared annually!
While this is really funny, the main song is actually incredible. The lyrics and rhyming are impressive; and the melody is catchy.
This is glorious.
Thank you, Hans William Weirdo!
The vision of Donall and Connall is animated better than Thor: love and thunder's cgi.
Starring Patrick Dempsey as St Patrick...I love it.
As my own hand has written,
I was born in Britain
when Romans reigned over the place
Though the son of a deacon,
I shunned the Lord's beacon
and never cared much for His grace
Then while I was still childish,
the fierce pagan Irish
snatched me and stole me away
So with no-one to save me
from those who'd enslave me,
that's when I started to pray
Prayed to the God who had freed me from sin
that He'd free me from slavery's abyss
But while I was a-waitin'
the Lord's liberating,
the Pagans would taunt me like this:
Come on now Patrick,
come sing of the One who has saved you
as you clean our mold-ridden socks
Come on now holy boy,
call on God's son,
as we beat you with sticks and/or rocks
6 whole years they enslaved me,
but He who had saved me,
His will would not never be done
So one day while dreamin',
I heard a voice screamin',
a voice that was tellin' me
Run, Patrick, run,
to the coast white with foam,
run, Patrick, run,
God is bringing you home
Low was my hope,
when I spotted a boat,
and the captain then let me on board
But when he bore his nipple,
I didn't treat it as a fipple,
and then he brought me home, thank the Lord
Back in the arms of my mother and father,
livin' the life I had missed,
but so strangely while dreamin',
new voices were screamin',
all of 'em tellin' me this:
Come on now Patrick,
come back to the land of
we Pagans who gave you your chains and your strife
Give us love and forgiveness,
extend us your hand,
with the word of the Author of life.
How can I go back
and forgive all those sinners who put me through hell?
And yet how could I not,
since the blood that forgave me forgives them as well.
No the ones have crossed--
Valjean, at last--
You must preach them the gospel!
Bell John, at last--
After this revelation,
I sought ordination,
then looked at my bishop and plead
Let me preach He who saved me
to those who enslaved me,
and this is what my bishop said:
okay
Go, Patrick, go,
to the land you once fled
go, Patrick, go,
reach the Savior who bled
Hey look, it's Patrick, that we put in chains
what are you doin' back?
I have come to proclaim
that the One who forgave me is rightin' your wrongs,
so come gather around, let me sing you a song
Preach, Patrick, preach,
save the souls on the isle,
but don't lose heart,
'cause it might take a while
I just preached Him who saved me to those who'd enslave me
and freed them from death and from sin
thank you so much except it's Valjean not Bell John
@@user-le9ej2nh5i Thanks, fixed it.
And he also told us that as we became Christians, we wouldn't have to do the... you know... (REDACTED) thing anymore...
East Syriac Catholic here. You guys are good. You never fail to amuse and inspire.
Wow! Glad to see a fellow Indian.
All the jokes in this video aside, I think you have one of the best tenor voices, Reverend Fiene. I love traditional folk music (unusual for my age), and thine vibrato works perfectly with that style.
The Les Miserables references was amazing. @LutheranSatire
MrZeus Gaming I was wondering if I was the only one who lost it when Javert butted in.
I’m a child of the 70s so it surprised me when I recognized the man in the boat with Patrick. Was that George “The Animal” Steele? Thanks for that mental image, it’s now permanently etched into my mind.
This is literally the best christian song ever!!!!
Oh, how we have missed Donall and Conall! The boys are back in the house!!
(And it was wonderful to see St. Patrick again!)
Anyone else watching this on St. Patrick’s Day?
Tight editing, sharp comedy, and quality assets (especially the grandma one with the watermark lol), always a joy to get a new video from you sir!
Didn't know you Watched Lutheran Satire. Love your stop motion
I would love to hear a serious version of this, sung by Patrick.
God is good! New content from LutheranSatire! 👍🏻🎉🙌🏻
We've been missing you guys. Thanks for the great and hilarious video. I can see this song getting stuck in my head at the most inopportune moments. Thanks Patrick!
Is this suppose to make fun of Patrick or honor him?
@Austin Tucker
Which were you hoping for?
@@amybee40 To honor him. I may not be catholic or lutheran but I still admire Patrick. How can I not? Ireland is the land of my ancestors.
@Austin Tucker
You do know this is a comedy channel, right? "Satire" = comedy.
That said, I do think they are honoring St Patrick in their own way.
And I'm part Irish myself.
The Les Mis interruption was absolutely hilarious.
10/10 Would buy a CD with all the Lutheran Satire Songs.
Well, this is gonna be stuck in my head for the next 75 years.
I laughed so hard that I cried for a solid 3 minutes. Please keep these Conell and Donell videos coming.
I have to say I had to go back and listen again after the nipple line 😂
The final verse where Connall andDonnall sing is straight up inspirational.
"The medium sized woodland creature attached to the upper lip of this here Lutheran theologian."
They aren't wrong.
kind of bummed there wasn't anything about the snakes...
It was in the Concordia seminary logo from Ft. Wayne Indiana
There was in the “St. Patrick’s Bad Analogies” post-credit scene.
What a way to make a comeback, Patrick!
Your poor Bono imitation is slightly less awful than the genuine article.
Gotta make watching this a tradition
We play this every year--several times--leading up to St. Paddy's day.
I have listened to this for ten times already
I have watched over a dozen times now and it still great! Great job as always Pastor Hans Fiene.
Welcome back "Patrick."
This channel is a hidden gem
It’s time for us one and all to gather here once again
This is definitely your best video to date. Thanks for the hard work you put into this.
Just like a marvel movie, you do not leave before the credits end
This is the best St. Patrick’s Day ever!
I have to agree XD
There is just something so beautiful with Irish Folk songs
9/10 due to lack of snakes
Please re watch an note snake in Ft Wayne Seminary Logo
They all left on a plane
Love the unexpected Les Mis! The second "Valjean...at last" made me crack up.
Blessed Saint Patrick, pray for us. Pray for revival in the church and across the land.
Back for my annual celebration of St. Me Day!
Go, Patrick, go! ☘️😂
Once again, genius!
I didn't know St. Patrick was ordained at Concordia Theological Seminary 😂
Have missed your videos!
I love Lutheran Satire. The videos are short but funny and very instructive.
I still blast this song all the time in March just because I can. As always Hans great Job!!!!!!!!!
My annual jam! Love this one!
Yay for ancillary benefits!
Missed you. More. More videos please.
Yea! More! More! Encore! Encore! I love these characters!
Lutheran Satire should write a whole musical like this. It would be a hit
This makes my St. Patrick's birthday complete! Love it.
I'm not Lutheran (I'm Church of Christ), but I love this channel
3:50-4:20 is absolute, irony-free 🔥
Happy Saint Patrick's Day ☘️ ✝️
Actually, his real name wasn’t Patrick, it was Maewyn Succat. He changed it to Patricius when he was saved.
I always liked St. Patrick though- except for his bad analogies of course!
Love it! Thanks and keep them coming Patrick!
Revisiting at least once or thrice every St Paddi’s day, if not more! 😆!!
Your songs have permanent places in my music playlists.
Please sir, may I have another and yet another, again.
I tear up a little every time I watch this.
Absolutely incredible as always. Keep up the good work!
I just delivered a sermon about St. Patrick on St. Patrick's Day at the Lutheran church where my sister is their deaconess pastor. I could have saved so much time had I just played them this video!
First thought seeing this come up in suggestions:
"Oh, no! This is either going to be awful or awesome..."
Awesome, completely awesome.
Next you need to do the Bad Captioning version: "they enslave Eva Eva had say be his will or not never so when they want a dream and I heard boys screaming..." ?!?! Hahaha
Bad idea. In the "Run, Patrick, Run" part, the CC said "Run, batsh*t, run."
