  • Over the past 40 years, China has transformed from a nation plagued by poverty and starvation into one of the world's most powerful countries. This remarkable journey began in 1979 with economic reforms initiated by Deng Xiaoping, which shifted China from a centrally planned economy to a more market-oriented one. These reforms spurred rapid economic growth, with China's GDP growing at an average annual rate of nearly 10% from 1979 to 2017. This growth helped lift over 800 million people out of poverty, representing a significant portion of the global reduction in poverty during this period.
Deng's policies included the decentralization of economic decision-making, the introduction of the household responsibility system in agriculture, and the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to attract foreign investment. These measures encouraged productivity and innovation, laying the groundwork for China to become a global manufacturing hub.
China's focus on education and healthcare further bolstered its development. The implementation of compulsory education laws and substantial government spending on education and research created a skilled workforce capable of supporting its industrial and technological advancements.
In this video, we will explore China's transformation into a superpower from a historical perspective, examining key turning points and milestones along the way.

Literacy in my view is the Catalyst of change. only a Century ago less than 10 percent of the Chinese population could read and write ,Today that's close to 90 percent. When compared to Western Society the literacy is declining,When asked to identify America on the Map many Ivy league Students picked Africa, When asked why, these future Scholars said because it is bigger? The Chinese students however are way more aware of the outside World.Thats the difference between Education and Indoctrination Chinese Culture puts the needs of the many ahead of the few, USA puts Individual wants ahead of Collective needs ,and Applies American Absolutism !!!

China was a half colonial country and was separated by regions, Mao united all party and make everyone to have one believe. The current chinese system is also not Capitalism, you could take a look at professor Wolff’s new videos

    Yes!
But as with America in 1929 and the Depression ,Chinas first crisis as an Industrial nation has struck it hard.
Since 2010 China has faced cycle after cycle of a sinking stock market and property is still mired in unresolved bankruptcies.
This crisis is a longer term crisis than any other nations in the west has had in almost 90 years.
Government involvement in property and its reluctance to write off bad debt seems crippling

Under Xi Jinping's tenure (2012-2022), China's GDP *doubled.*
In 2023, China's GDP grew 5.2%, far higher than any G7 economy.
China faces challenges but as it has always done in the past, it will overcome these challenges, too. Never bet against China.

      Rotfl!
When China makes mistakes they are immense.
Their inability to liquidate bad debt and their attempts to support a collapsed property market are huge mistakes.
But Chinese pride makes it hard to admit huge sums were badly invested.
This implies that the fall out will linger a long long time and the unresolved bad dept will effect the entire economy
As to never bet against China?
      Right!
There is a saying with no historical validity.
China like India, lands of 100s of millions were defeated by tiny European armies sent half way around the world 180 years ago.
In India’s case 260 years ago.
